Hi Fluffy. Woke up this morning with the blah-hahs, just took my Dexilant, now what to do? Might make myself some oatmeal, keeps me a regular woman, don't,ya know. Since I got postponed I feel like I'm just tredding water. Did I tell you the last reason? Dr,Miller aka the Gila Monster my semi-beloved surgeon has decided he wants an Upper GI with contrast medium done. Since I'd prefer it done locally (we do,have 4+ inches of snow on the ground) his office was supposed Tuesday to fax my gastroenterologist office. Hadn't heard anything yesterday including a courtesy call from the Xray department at my local inept hospital telling,me if I have to be NPO (figure so) and for how long. Well doctor#1 had not faxed to doctor#2,as of yesterday afternoon so I ate a healthier snack, cottage cheese and pears,and went to Wally World to pick up my eyedrop refill. For the last week or more I have been battling allergic pinkeye. Look,like I've been crying all day, although they're not mattered shut the inner and,outer corners are sore and I have perpetual "sleepy dirt" there. My first instinct is to rub them and that would only make them worse. That's bad enough but my corneas must be a little swollen because I've got double vision. I went originally,to my PCP maybe I should have gone to my ophthalmologist. Well back to the inept hospital, the only reason I ever darken their door, they are close,by. The next closest is 23 miles away. This is the same place when my cousin consulted them for gallbladder pain asked if she wanted a PAP test also. She told them she was nauseated and had pain in her right shoulder, her **** was doing just fine. Looking so far like this gonna be "shall I fish or cut bait?"day. Firmly believe this is the only block to,my surgery day. Verdompt test slowing me down. Surgeon's office says when they get results we are back on track. Could be a slim change,of would still be February. He probably wants to pinpoint the exact,location of my baby gastric ulcer. Suspect it's in the part that's gonna be bypassed not the future pouch part.when they called Tuesday I was at the laundromat, I had been postponing doing it to save money in case I'd be going to Columbus for my presurgical blood work. My social security only stretches so far. Got to call my landlord and tell him the rent rent may be delayed. I can pay my bills up to current, let,part of them slide a month and pay him some, cannot pay it all, or keep money back for Columbus trip to get all the pre surg done in I day. Another rotten happening since I'm widowed and only count as 1 with JFS I lost my free out of town taxi privileges. I'd have to only,make $7000 a year to qualify as of December 31 2017. This after I had booked appointments up to my expected surgery time. My anniversary was the end of March so I thought everything was cool, nope dropped me at the end of December. Budgetary cuts, yada yada yada. So what do I have to stir from my bed for? I can text you flat on my back. I know life is supposed to be beautiful, well today it's just tedious. So you're in Eastern Kentucky, how do i know? I was way back a long distance telephone operator. I'm in Ohio, and a couple cousins married ky and va girls. So I'm close to a GRIT, which stand for girl raised in the South,i am sure the Michiganders on here have accused me of it. They are still mad at Ohio for winning the Toledo war. Shoot I love everybody, even my misguided sisters to the north. Once upon a time I belonged to Bassin' Gsls, insisted when late hubby joined Bassmasters. My wants were simple, he went onto to fish more for catfish, GIVE me mealworms and I'll happily fish for bass and bluegill all day. Yes I bait my own hooks and clean my own fish unless someone insists they want to do it instead. Family went froggigging, wouldn't take me, left me at the house to cook the previous day's frog,legs. Put them in the skillet and forgot to put the lid on. When they got warm they jumped out, picked them up, washed them up, fried them with the lid on and fed them to the happy hunters. Maybe we'll be surgery twins, got postponed, thought it would be next week but I have to have an Upper GI with contrast, surgeon wanted it. They were supposed to fax my gastroenterologist so I could get it done locally. That was yesterday, called doctor#2 office, doctor#1 hadn't faxed anything so I didn't get it done while I was out today. Come on come on let's all get with the program. I'm not getting any younger. My surgeon says I'm twice as big as I should be for my frame. Shoot that's nearly a quarterback I've been lugging around. Doubt I lose that much but I'm gonna give it a try. Keep on with the excellent hydration, it helps in the long run. Do they know which variety of stones they were? Sometimes you have to modify your diet further or go on some medication. Well Lilymunster its good to hear from you. You are going to get thru this trial by fire, you've quit smoking, good girl, thats an excellent first step. Now that calorie restriction, 1500 is not a bad level, I know you can do it. I've been on 1000 and 1200 before. Remember lean meat or other protein, fruits a n d vegetables. Minimize bread and starchy carbohydrates if you can't cut them completely. Get plenty of fluids, its not too soon to get in 64 oz daily. Thats what they'll expect from you,post surgery. No sweetened drinks like sodas, colas ,root beer, Dr Pepper, you get my drift. Some doctors even make you give up,coffee and tea. 1.caffeine is a stimulant and a diaretic. 2. A lot of people add cream and sugar to them-both no no Try to get enough rest, try to do daily exercise, it will,make you stronger and a stronger patient will be a healthier patient. Plus if You're out walking or other exercise you won't be so tempted to sit and eat. Take the advice of an older fat woman, you don't want to be worn out and worn down. Hi Chris..I'm 72 5ft8in 323lb down from a high of 355, BMI close to yours. Resident grandma of Bariatric Pal since I'm older than dirt. Should be having RnY...early-mid March unless a miracle happens this month. Mother to 3, 2 living, my son who I call Tomkitten on here and his older sister known as RD, short for Rotten Daughter. She lives 7/8 mile from me. After not speaking to me for 6 months her best friend died of a heart attack Christmas . She started calling and texting me, Will it last?Don't know, she should know I love her cause I've told her repeatedly over the years,,i just don't like some of her past actions. I've been fixing Tomkitten things I don't like or allergic to, helps a little but not much. Since my surgery got postponed (dang it) i,could in theory,go back to regular but I've made such strides cutting back and even lost a little weight, don't want to regain even a single pound. I have stuffed animals the right size so will take one of them. When I had my gallbladder out in the bad old days(30+ years ago) when everything was open incisions I took a chicken pillow, about the size of a couch throw pillow. Chickie became my best friend for a while, try sneezing or coughing with a 5-6 inch incision. Hurts enough you'll confess to things you didn't even do!
