I'm a RnYer myself, I have GERD, want the gold standard of surgery as I am planning this to be, my 1 and only bariatric surgery. And this may sound silly to some but I would prefer being slightly rerouted to losing 3/4 of my natural stomach. God created me in his likeness and image, although surgeons also are his instrument for good,, I prefer not to tarnish his creation excessively. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Excellent suggestions, mine would be smile, known fact you use fewer muscles than with a frown. It makes you look pleasant, approachable and people like that instead looking like a perpetual grouch. Sister Smithson would get up in testimony meeting, announce Ooh I love Jesus and hold her mouth like she had just had a sour pickle. Ooh she had wrinkles that wouldn't quit and think,it was due to her old sour disposition. With a smile people will, want to know your secret to happiness and may want to befriend you. Bad taste in mouth?

Rachel could this be that ketone breath I've seen others describe on the forums? I'm pre surg so haven't experienced for myself but that would be my best guess. Comes from your body breaking down fats for energy. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

I know there several Mexico threads on here, I think one of the ladies is having hers done March 9th. Not sure but I think she's going to BariatricPal hospital, in Tiajuana. I think her surgeon may be Dr Illial. If Bill Yanez sees your post I'm sure he'll get in touch with you. Are you planning a sleeve or bypass? They do both of them very well and it is a lot cheaper than US or Canada prices. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you for speaking out, in my generation you were taught it was your fault, not the rapist. Thank God the pendulum has swung totally the other way. God Bless and keep you. When did you consider plastics?

I doubt I'll ever seek plastics. I have been obese most of my adult life, had 3 children and am 72 years, all 3 would, likely mean I'll be having skin that won't "snap back" into shape. But on the other side I have Dunlap Disease. There's an old joke--the skin on my belly has Dunlap Disease, it's so loose it done laps over. I do have problems with fungal infections in the folds, somebody told me to start collecting photographic evidence, in case my doctors might advise its removal later. Until then I'll look like a shar pei under my clothes. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. My surgeon does shots for his patients for that reason. For both knee replacements I was on Xarelto instead which are pills. Not worried too bad about lovenox, I've administered shots to others so no problem doing my own. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi Suzi . Welcome to,Bariatric Pal.I,am,pre surg myself should have RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio.. I have hit a minor snafu and will know more how my own journey will be going Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm,not gonna say too much more or I'll start crying and won't be able to text right. I am 72, weight 323 down from a high of 355, 5ft8in so that gives me a. BMI of 47. I can't tell you how long I've been obese so,its say for giggles and laughs most of my adult life. I have sleep apnea, have had arthritis both kinds since 25, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.I am tired of looking like Bip the Michelin Mans sister. This might be my last chsnce at not dying. And I want to,live, I want my last years to be thinner and healthier, diets did not work for me. I've tried most everything up to and including starvation. Tried cutting back to 1 small meal a day. Oh no my body said, I'll just shut her metabolism down. I'll leave her cold, dizzy and feeling weak. And it did. I have been clinging to this hope of a tool,to help me. If this falls thru what do I do??. Keep praying, lighting candles ask a tribal elder or shaman to Do a dance, I'm rallying every force I can think of. Jewish, Buddhist, Christian, Arab, Eskimo, Indian, I'm calling for your help. How normal is this?

Is it safe here, is it safe here? Good it's a general topic thread. I picked a topic off trending where it doesn't tell which forum it was from. Turns out it was a Guy Room topic, after I was bashed and reviled. I felt as welcome as a rabbi in a mosque and lower than a snakes navel. I just want you look wonderful, healthy and happy. It must be kinda fun to be the same size as your teenager. Story from my own life: at one time my daughter and I were the same size, I saw one of my favorite outfits going out the door with her inside. I said Whoa, if I have such poor fashion sense why are you wearing my clothes? Her answer They look so much better on Me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post op questions

I know you can and will take PPIs, in the long run the are gastroprotective Most surgeons surgeons discourage carbonated beverages. A they encourage weight, gain, many of us got fat from overindulgence in Coke, Pepsi and their evil soda cousins. B. Do you enjoy pain? That stuff will bloat up your sore little stomach. If it doesn't cause you to vomit you'll have to belch or blow it out the other end. Alcohol doubtful you'll be allowed to indulge very soon. I've heard 6 months, a year down the road. You have been a workaholic , you do not want to exchange one addiction for another. You'll become drunk on less. And a final note, although I am pre surgery I have gastritis, booze hurts and burns the lining in your stomach and it hurts like the walls of Hades. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
