    Do you chew and spit?

I know I claim I'm as old as dirt, but does anyone beside me remember the Saturday Night Live skit back in the Dan Ackroyd & John Belushi days? It was called "Pre Chewed Charlie's" Late husband found it funny to the inth degree, I thought it rather gross. And recently, one of Hollywood starlet-mother's was quoted saying she chewed up food and spit it into, her toddler son's mouth as a way of feeding him. bumps...

Your tummy has what all ladies on TV dread, cellulite. I have dimples on my thighs where they've gotten a tad smaller. Probably happened because of weight loss. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Love happy stories, love success stories. I'm a future RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. I do want WLS surgery but was not prepared to throw away,4/5th of my nstural stomach on a surgery that would not eradicate my GERD I had a cousin who died at 68 from esophageal cancer. The continued irritation in my esophagus could put me at risk,to follow in her footsteps.RnY gives you a little quicker weight loss, although many VSG are done, Rn Y is still the gold standard. I only plan one bariatric surgery ,in my lifetime so I want the best. I'm 72, want to spend the remainder of my life thinner, happier and healthier. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Calling March Sleevers

Glad you've had your "come to Jesus" moment and have decoded to go forward. If you've reached the Good weight for a Redwood - a Mite heavy for a Human Being point like me, it's time. I'll be a RnY early-mid March at Mount Carmel in Columbus Ohio. I guess I'm over here as a missionary from the other side. We love our sleeved, brothers and sisters, after all we're in the same battle. It don't matter whether you have a shotgun or a rifle, they both shoot real good and they get the job done. My highest weight was 355, now down to 323. I'm only 5ft8in so I'm still at a BMI of about 47, haven't calculated,it for a while. So shoot me but I neither calculate or weigh myself,if I can get out of it! I still, like me but I. don't like to be reminded of my morbid obesity by doctors. I've got a mirror after all. If you need a surgery buddy or friend I'll volunteer.in the meantime have a good day and,set us know when you get your surgery date. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Can we talk about boobs and bras?

The sequence for me from past diets, boobs-waist-upper arms and thighs-belly. The last to go will be my big fat booty. Back when I wore a Gerry backpack to carry around my kids, my one son would take his feet off the footrest and stand on my rump. Late Husband called it my Daisy Duck ***. 13. I can see the future for me. As I shuck out of my Spanx or other shapewear Mr Lover's mouth is gonna drop when Ms Shar Pei lets it all fall out. I'd better get some younger lovers, I'd give the dudes my age a heart attack or stroke. Except for the pain it wouldn't be that bad a way to go. Ah but then I have to explain to the police and the coroner's office what happened. Story from my long ago youth. Circus fat lady and circus midget get married. Ringmaster allows them the Big Top for their wedding night. The next morning they all hear the midget singing at the top of his lungs. They asked him Why? He says Miles and miles of flesh and its all Mine! Maybe I'll find a Guy that will be that happy with me. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Body image

I'll confess I do have trouble looking in the mirror. What I see is not the me I want to see. I would not believe it is possible to be tall and dumpy. Yeah, I knew I was big but it's not a healthy big Now. I have to remodel the exterior to match the sweet but spunky thin and valuable person inside. I constantly ask Tomkitten "am I as big as that person? Do I look as old and unhappy as that one?" because the myth of the jolly fat person is just that, a myth. A lot of us go around with a frown or grimace, we hurt too much to smile.[emoji27]Well at this point I hurt physically and emotionally I have to move forward with this surgery to regain myself. I pray it is not too late to make this change. I see my own mortality ahead and it is frightening to comprehend. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. Size shouldn't matter as much as efficency. It is a tool for your future, I'm sure your surgeon made it a proper diameter and size, it's not their first rodeo, ya. know. Now it's up to you to use this gift and use it wisely. Best wishes now and for your future surgery. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. Do you ever feel, like me, other addicions are more condoned?Foodaholics they think just Do It to themselves, nobody credits it with being a medical or metabolic condition also. We just do it to ourselves and want an easy way out by surgery. You've heard all the put downs and snide remarks. And sadly the snarky remarks come from people who should love and support you. And if you fight your way thru to a weight loss they are still waiting to say Told you so or Couldn't you even do that right? My own detractor: see I knew you'd be a failure. Its hard not to give in, but they have misjudged you. You are now strong, you have purpose and resolve, and you keep on with your small steps until you make your goal. Maybe they will give you grudging respect, maybe not. But you didn't do it for them, you do it for yourself. And you will be healthier, live longer and bottom line you'll be proud of YOU.Stay strong my friends. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post op questions

Well you may still be able to take pills in applesauce or pudding, some you can crush or open up capsules, your doctor will be your best advisor for your individual case. Ibuprofen, well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, honey, but that's an NSAID,take your little hand and wave bye bye because it's not going to be in your life. NSAIDS are rough on sore tummies, shoot they are rough on any stomach lining. Yours truly has gastritis and an iddy biddy ulcer. I used to take a lot of Mr Advil, not no more. You will have Tylenol, which does come in a liquid form. Many meds do come in a liquid, unfortunately not all of them. I'm giving you This advice as a long lived human not medical centred personnel. Your own doctor will,be your best advisor and a bariatric surgeon- especiall good. In terms you and I can understand: this is their bang-zone, hope this helps a little.
