Still figuring out the forum--does anyone know how you mark a "buddy" (so I can follow posts from people who had surgery at a similar time)? Also, my profile says I am "pre-op," and I can't find anywhere in the settings where it will let me change that, or my weight and height. Wondering if maybe it's a flaw in the mobile app, and I should try a laptop instead?

I am starting to notice that many of the foods I am eating in the phase 2 foods have similar flavors, and I am already getting bored with them 😕. This morning I added a packet of stevia and some cinnamon to my tablespoons of Greek yogurt, and it was delicious. I think I will have to keep trying things like this to keep it more palatable. I am really missing flavors, and will need to experiment with spices as my tolerance for foods changes over time.

I hear you. I had to ask my nurse practitioner if I was drinking too much water, because I was so thirsty. She suggested filling in with ice chips so I don't drink too quickly. The protein is going okay, but I have to go slowly--my stomach makes some interesting sounds when I eat!

Starting to think about clothes
greenreader replied to greenreader's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great ideas...I think from what I see, Thred Up is online consignment, too, and I also may be able to trade in some of my clothes, too for credit, hopefully. Dresses and sweaters with leggings are a great options. I'm a teacher, and those are my go to outfits! Looking forward to buying boots that I really want when I am a bit smaller. I always avoided them because of varying calf size issues with different brands / styles. -
Congratulations! I love hearing about people's journeys, and you look great in the pictures. Aloha from SF.

I am in the same boat, I have a two and a six year old, and the basis for many of their meals is rice, pasta and potatoes. It is hard, but I know healthier eating habits for me will help them too. I am grateful that my husband is off for holiday break right now, and can cook for them more--at least at the beginning.

Hi everyone. I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 12/26, and for the most part I am feeling okay. I feel like today I have had a dip in my energy level, and am wondering if the low calorie count with stage 2 foods is catching up with me a bit. I just feel sleepy, and so I am having a lazy day. I think I will try to get out on a walk with my kids later this afternoon, just to stay active. So far I have been relying on chicken bone broth, bipro Protein Water, and Protein Shakes as my main protein sources, but in the last day, my nurse practitioner cleared me for stage 2 foods, so I have tried cottage cheese, sweet potato blended with broth and a little spice mix, and even a little decaf coffee with Lactaid milk. I have to eat really slow. When I think about how fast I ate in the past, it is a trip! In fact my only bad reaction was drinking a cup of water in the middle of the night, which I used to do all the time (I always wake up super thirsty at night) and it came back up. It is a totally unconscious habit, but boy did I learn my lesson! If anyone else is having issues with the dry mouth stuff, my dad actually started using Biotene mouth wash, which really helped him because of some issues with medications causing the same problem, and it works really well! I was so glad he mentioned it while I was in the hospital, since the dry mouth was driving me nuts. I hope to hear more about your journeys, and wish all of you well.
