now when you get this list you can call around and see if they will take all the insurence that you got and if another doctor takes it you can have your primary doctor refer you again just tell him you are not happy with this doctor and you feel you found a better one now this packett took about two week to get to me but it may be sooner for you so this is just another option for you plain b lol!! i hope you find some one that helps you so keep me posted good luck and god bless

well thank you lol!!! let me know how everything goes im sure you will be very happy it might take a couple of weeks for your packett to come in the mail but be give it some time and it will come also you can call them back at any time and they should tell you who takes your insurence so let me know if you got any questions let me know ok but let me know what they said ok cause my doctor said thats the only one he knows that will do the surgery and if i find some one else let him know he will refer me and i called that number and they found me weight manage ment center and im real happy with there program so far

yea you are right i have regular medicare and i didnt know the diference between madicare and advantage madicare but if she called that number they will tell her every thing she needs to know and that goes for any insurence cause my wife has blue cross and blue shield and it covers it so i hope she gets what she needs best luck

hey i got that number also to make you feel better my bmi is 38.somthing and i was quilified also here is the number it is 1 800 lap band and there web sight is Home but call them and they will tell if you are covered and were to go to see a doctor and all that stuff im sure when you call you will be more at ease with your self let me know what they say and god bless you and good luck

hey a couple of years ago my dad went to the va here in fort jackson and they told him that he can get a va loan to do it well he didnt want a va loan and just waited it off he went this year and the doctor told him if he didnt get the surgery he would die and he asked them again and they did it for him at no cost but he had to go were you get a va loan but they directed him in the right path were it was covered i dont know what he did but i do know the people in the office were you get a va loan at helped him out with it so you may want to try there

thats fine to call medicare but the number i got will give you a list of doctors that will do the surgery and they will tell you if you qualify also with medicare and medicade they will pay for everything i dont know why your doctors office has to approve you cause as long as you are over weight in my state and have a bmi of well i dont know the bmi lol !!but i feel you will be ok let me look for that number and i will get back with you now medicare might tell you the doctors and they might not they may not know but i will give you that number give me a few i got to go to the doctors my self now but when i get back ill give you that number

if you dont mine me asking were are you from? and one important thing do you got a medicare card that is red and white and it says medicare part a and medicare part b on the card??? if you do i do know you will be covered also i got a packett with a number on it you can call that number and they will send you out a packett in the mail of all the doctors in your area that do the surgery. and they will also tell you if you qualify right then when you call that number if you want it ill go look for it in my file folder and get it to you sounds like to me you are getting the run around like i did and i called that number and they gave me a list of doctors and i found weight management in columbia south carolina they are good to so far but they told me that medicare requires you to have at least tried a diet for 6 month and attend 1 class and what ever else the nurses and doctors recomend then after you do all that your doctors will bill medicare you dont have medicade also do you if so thats even better they pick up what medicare dont pay if any well get back with me and i hope every thing will work out for you

well i havent been banded yet but i was told that medicare requires you to go to one class and medicare pays for the whole thing but i got medicare part a and b what type do you have?? i havent heard of the advantage plan. im sure it is the same but dont get me wrong but if you got medicare a and b you will be covered and if you got medicare a and b you only got to go to one class also the diet stuff they only require you to have tried a least one 6 month diet plain well thats what they told me i thank you will be ok but let me know if you are ok and let me know if i can help you out some more if i dont know the answer im sure some one on here does lol !!!! so what have you been through so far

yea i know but he has done alot of the bypass surgerys and i thank he said the death toll was like 1 out of 700 with the bypass (i got it mixed up) but none out of 1000 with the band . but did have like a couple with complications such as the port fliping and i thank he said somthing about the band sliping once but with all that he said no death yet with the band but i guess i do need to see how many he has done with the band but any ways i see every one else saying how good there doing with it so i guess its a risk im willing to take also have you looked at the before and after pictures if you ask me i thank it does wonders im so proud of every one here but look out every one there is a new jason coming to town lol!!!

thanks kat817 you really sumed it up for me i thank the lap ban is the one for me and thats the one im going to stick with as planed ive had surgery before but was never told about any blood clots with them and i thought it was just for this type surgery man what a tone of bricks you just pulled off me i was just worried that my kids would not be able to play with me as much as they do cause my 1 year old has a thing were he wants to jump on my belly all the time and we wressel and play and you reall made my day i go the 17th to see the phys. dr then they make my pre op after that so wish me luck every one

im from south carolina and i have both medicade and medicare a/b my doctors office told me that medicade and medicare will pay for it all what medicare dont pay for medicade will pick up i hope this helps ya some

well not so much as the surgery that scares me its the aftermath that scares me. my wife is scared more than i am lol!!! but im just scared about the aftermath such as stuff like what am i going to be able to due afterwords just the thought of having somthing in me am i going to be able to feel it, is the little cord thing going to be swinging and bouncing off my belly pretty much some dumb thoughts but than i look at some pictures of peoples before and after and im like all goodness what a wonderfull tool they invented but i guess i am worring for nothing i mean look at these people on the before and after sight they are smiling if that was me i would be cring of course im a big baby to lol!!! just dont tell my wife hahaha!! but one of the fears is the women at the dr office was telling me there could b a blood clot that could go to my lungs or somthing but she didnt educate me on it much do you know what she is talking about or what is your advice on that

hey i live in lugoff and i got the same doc u do so far how was your experience wit it so far my fear is well of course death but mostly i payed the 250 for the program and there telling me i got to see a phys. doc and he determines if you get the surgery or not and im scared i might be told i cant and loose the 250 did every thing go well for you and if so what do i need to expect from the dr and phys. dr

well hearing about this is making me thank twice about having it done im thanking about the bypass also but my primary doc refered the band i guess what the bigest fear is is death i dont want to die loosing weight but in the same since im going to die if i dont loose weight and now my wife is worring i dont know what to tell her cause ive tried everything to loose weight but i am now hearing about death and also the complications with it i guess another fear is somthing coming loose or the band strap breaking or rubbing somthing rawl just stuff like that and then what to after and what not to do after surgery
