  1. Kat -- even better news!!!:party:I'll join the dancing!! My cat loves these guys!! Watch out, she'll lick the screen, blech!! Judy -- Yeah, I did hear about Millard Fillmore at the build on Saturday. About the lost work - I'm not sure I'm going to try to recreate all of it, just what I need to finish the audit. I did ask the auditors to send me back everything I had sent them. The only other option I have is to go through all my sent mail and save the attachments. I was thinking your daughter is due any time. Do you know if it is a girl or a boy? My brother has three girls and loves every minute!! Sleep well everyone. Maybe the rum will kick in soon and I'll get sleepy. I may have to go read my book for a while.
  2. Laura -- I've had the Kashi frozen pizza with just cheese and tomatoes, but I always added extra protein (pepperoni) to it. It wasn't bad. Not the best I've ever had but not a bad frozen pizza. I bought more than one... Haven't tried anything else they make though. The server is now back up, but discovered today that for some reason (the IT people can't tell me why) every back up done between Dec 8th and now apparently failed for the network files. So I lost EVERY excel spreadsheet I had done for year end and January month end. The audit is due to Italy by this Friday and I have lost 6 weeks worth of work... I need a new job. I don't drink often, but decided that taco bell for dinner and their strawberry mango fruitista with a large shot of rum would hit the spot. I may be heading off to bed before the end of The Mentalist. Kat -- I am so glad to hear Manda is doing better!! Sorry to hear about your son and DIL. Judy --I hope Ethan's mom continues to take her meds!! I did do one fun thing over the weekend. I worked at a Habitat for Humanity house here in Charlotte for four hours, in the rain. But it was fun nonetheless. The realtor that sold my first house had asked all his previous clients to participate for Valentine's Day. They were working on framing and getting the outside walls covered with OSB and foam insulation. It was too wet and muddy to try to put the roof trusses in place so we only worked a half day. I don't know that I could have lasted a full day. Sorry everyone I know this post is all over the place, but that's the kind of day I had. Here's to a better tomorrow!! (raises glass)
  3. Thanks Laura!! I hope your husband doesn't eat too many of those chocolates -- or are they the non-malitol type?
  4. Ok, ok, I surrender!! Y'all are the only ones I have met that like the name -- you'll not hear another peep out of me about it!! I too am struggling with food and weight gains right now. I made it through Christmas with flying colors, but that was because I was so tight that I pb'd every other day. A little looser now and finding all the 'bad' foods that go down so easily anyway. I've been bouncing around the same 6 pounds for a month. I'm going to try to eat fruit and yogurt for breakfast, drink the protein shake between b'fast and lunch. The dietician says I need at least 1250 calories. I'm finding that hard to do with only 3 cups of food a day...suggestions?? I HATE to cook and usually have a frozen meal for lunch. Oh, btw, Good morning!! Still no server....I need to go see what's going on. Or should I say not going on. Kat and Judy -- still thinking of you and your families... Thanks everyone for the welcome!!
  5. Laura -- we had BCBS (of NC, of course) and it had an option for individual + child(ren). I would have thought that all insurance companies would offer four options: indiv., indiv + spouse, indiv + kids, family.
  6. Haydee -- My brother said that they were considering the name and on his way home from work he heard the song on the radio and thought it was a sign. I think it was a sign that they should pick another name...everyone is going to sing her that song for the rest of her life.
  7. Still no server...we had 3 guys from our IT consultant firm here and one just left to go home so that he can take the 8 pm to 3 am shift, another will be available for the 3 am until?? shift. This is not looking good. I am originally from Indiana, and I lived in Birmingham, AL for 5 1/2 years right after college before I moved to Charlotte, NC. My parents had a lake cottage in northern Indiana and we spent 3-4 weekends a month between April and October there. I was missing the water so I bought a 3 story townhouse near a river. They advertised that it would have a full-service marina with a restaurant / bar and shops ten years ago. The boat slips have been in the water a year, but no marina store, restaurant or other shops. I was really looking forward to walking to dinner and having the option to crawl home from the bar if necessary. Yesterday was my 42nd birthday. I have never been married and have no children. I've always been a bit of a work-a-holic. That and the weight helped my insulate myself from taking risks (meeting men). I have always been very friendly and outgoing but more as a friend than a 'date'. Maybe I can get the courage to change that soon. I have one younger brother (36) who lives in South Bend, IN, is married and has three daughters; Alexandria Marie (Alex) 6; Larissa Renee(Rissy) 4 and Jolene Mary (??) 5 months. My parents and I think my SIL named the last two. I joke that they are the three stooges: Alex, Larry and Joey and get dirty looks from my brother. Jolene. Really?? All I hear is the Dolly Parton song in my head....so not good! Well, so, that's a little about me. Thanks for welcoming me so nicely!!
  8. Good morning!! After reading about Tracy's water problems, Michelle's dd and car, I'm beginning to think yesterday was just a bad day all the way around -- our main server at work crashed at 1 pm. By 10 pm, I thought all was good and went home and left it to our IT people (I'm the accounting manager). Came in this morning and IT worked on it until 6 am, but it died. They are now moving everything to another machine and it may take most of today and part of tomorrow?? The accounting software is on another server so we can still sell parts, but all of our machine drawings, excel files, e-mail, etc are on this main server. Parts of being down yesterday were ok -- it took four hours to get the work around for us to be able to use the accounting software -- so it left me without much to do. Kind of a nice and relaxing birthday... I need to get back on track today with the food intake and exercise. I usually manage to go to Curves three times a week. I have a treadmill at home that I need to use more though. Well, I guess I should try to do some work...ooops, off to another computer problem. Have a good day!!

    Self Sabotaging

I think I may be in the same boat...Five years ago I lost weight until I got to 202. Everyone was so complimentary and I started getting attention I didn't know how to handle. Last year, I weighed 294 and I am working my way down, but I am very fearful that I will sabotage myself and stay where I am at.

    Daily News!

Addy & Grey, I know this is going to sound crazy, but maybe you need to eat a few more calories. A friend of mine (who also has the band) was on the web and calculated her 'rmr' or resting metobolic rate and determined she needed 1400 calories a day. Once she increased her calories, she started loosing again. I don't know, maybe a thought?
  11. Good morning Shrinking Violets!! I sent a PM to Kat yesterday. Since she mentioned it, I'll fill you in... I am suzyt. I started reading threads on lapbandtalk last year in April when I was considering whether to have surgery, trying to learn as much as I could about life after the band. Wondering would it really work? Your threads were always ones I enjoyed and it convinced me that since you all had done so well, I could too!! I had surgery in June and as you can see from my ticker, I have lost 70 pounds. I still have quite a ways to go, but I now have hope that once I lose the weight I will keep it off with the band to help my portion sizes -- that's always been my problem. I can lose it while motivated but then start cheating and gaining again. So, anyway, hello violets!!

    Betrayal is a BITCH

Tina, I agree that I feel as if he is in denial and thinking "if I ignore her statement, it will go away". I also agree that you need to discuss this in specific terms tonight at the counseling appointment. I feel you have been more than accomodating to try to work this out. He needs to understand that even though he has done what you asked; for you, it is not enough and never will be enough. Best wishes... Suzanne

    Daily News!

Hello fellow Junies!! I read all your posts, but mainly lurk instead of posting I had to laugh this morning though as I was watching the Bare Escentials program on QVC. I'm not sure if that is the same Lisa you were talking about, but as much as I love BE, I can barely stand to watch it because of the host!! Congrats to all with 100+ lost!! I'm at 70 now, slowing down but still losing is great!!
  19. I had surgery in June, just four short months ago and have not yet experienced any hair loss. I hope its because I try very hard every day to get 70 - 90 grams of Protein a day or I may just be lucky.... I have very thick hair and every time I go to get my hair cut I ask the stylist if it looks any thinner, to which she always replies "I can only hope!" She takes thinning shears to my hair quite frequently. I was worried though becuase when my mom had her right hip replaced for the second time, she started losing her hair. Maybe it was due to the complications she had with her surgery. Good luck with your journey!!
  20. Nope, don't worry, it won't affect your surgery at all. I also had a Vitamin D deficiency and they didn't retest until after my surgery -- two months after actually. My levels are good now but I still take Calcium tablets with Vitamin D added. My surgeon says that a lot of overweight people have a vitamin D deficiency. Suzanne

    EffexorXR 150mg

Right after surgery I opened them for two to three weeks, then I tried to swallow the capsule and found I could. After my first fill, I opened it for another day or two. I have now switched to a twice a day generic, and since I don't have any trouble with the pills getting stuck, I am taking them whole. Good luck with your surgery week after next!! Suzanne
