  1. Haydee, I have an italian friend that when he broke up with his fiance she trashed his house. Pulled all his clothes off the hangers into a pile. He says that's all she did to them, but with what she destroyed in the rest of the house, I'm not buying it. It took him months to fix everything..... I think she went a little overboard, but sometimes a little passion is ok!!
  2. Terry, Do what you can for Evan and the rest is up to him -- I know you know this, just a friendly reminder. And then, ENJOY the weekend and relax!! Have a great one Violets!!
  3. Hugs, Terry!! I've been thinking of you and praying for your family since your first post, I just haven't posted every day. I hope things start settling down for you soon!! Busy today....back later
  4. A meat lover's pizza is a great prescription any day!!
  5. Terry -- my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I had a fill under flouro today. I had great restriction in December which totally disappeared in early February. It's taken me until now with two more fills to convince them that there's a problem. So under flouro I drink the barium -- yep, you have no restriction. Thanks.... So then he put in some saline and had me try -- nope water got stuck. So he pulled some out another swallow, yep, that's better. So now he says I'm at 6 ccs. In December I was supposedly at 7 and after my last fill I supposedly had 8 ccs. We're going to watch to see if I lose restriction again, then I probably have a leak and will have to do a dye test. But I was very glad to see the band on the x-ray and to watch the barium go through slowly.... Very cool!! Wonder how much that's gonna cost me??
  6. Oh my gosh!! I am so glad that Ethan is ok. That daycare should be shut down -- children outside with no supervision and a gate held shut by blocks?? So glad everything turned out ok.......
  7. Hi everyone!! Michelle -- you are so right about dial up (about 40 pages backwards) -- I was at my parent's house for six days and I about went nuts!! Thank God for wifi at the airport!! I think I'll head off for a nap. Talk to y'all later, Suz
  8. Congratulations, Mom and Dad!! Welcome, Carson!!
  9. Laura, Hope you can get some sleep tonight!! Have a great day tomorrow, welcoming Carson to your family!!
  10. Congratulations Doctor!! :tt2: :Banane20: :eek: :Banane09: :thumbup::Angel_anim: :party:
  11. Pam, I may be too late in my wishes, but BEST OF LUCK!! You'll do fantastic -- I have no doubt!! Just remember that no matter what, your parents are there and are so very proud of you. Hugs, SuzyT
  12. Hi!! I'm here!! It's been an interesting two days.... Saturday afternoon, a friend of mine who had surgery on the same day as me, had a jewerly party. It's Premier Jewerly and looks very nice but is not super expensive. I actually think I may try selling it.... Then a neighbor of mine had asked me long ago if I wanted to attend a Food Addicts meeting with her (like AA but for food). So this morning I went, but I am not sure that I am ready to do things that drastically. They talk about cutting out all flour and sugar....your sponsor wants to discuss your food plan in detail each morning.... My surgery buddy said that she had attended regularly at one point but got miffed when her sponsor went ballistic when she deviated slightly from the previously discussed food plan. I understand that part of the process is to give up control.....but I guess I'm not ready for that. I am going to start back at the beginning and try to recapture the excitement of just being banded. This plateau is really kicking my butt!! I also fell off the wagon in December and started eating sweets again and today is another 1st day with no sweets. I got a fill Wednesday and cannot tell a difference. I have another appointment in two weeks (the 20th). I do have one question. If I am supposed to eat protein first and then vegetables -- no more than 8 oz 3x per day, how do you get 1200-1500 calories a day as the dietician says I should? This morning I opened the windows since it is nice and sunny today and 80' here in Charlotte. I came up to my office and there is green pollen on everything -- in between each sheet of paper, on the computer screen, in the keyboard -- EVERYWHERE!! I finally got it all dusted up but I have pollen allergies so tonight is going to be fun!! In fact I think I need to take a zyrtec now and one at bedtime!! Hope everyone has a good weekend!! I'm sure Judy will have beautiful pictures. Here are two of my favorite pictures from Maui.

I hate it when people post just to post.....

Glouc -- I just have to say that ex-boyfriend really gives all of us CPA's a bad name. Not all of us are that bad. I agree with the 'banker's left' theory, but to keep a spreadsheet. WOW!!
  14. Michelle, For a minute I thought your segment had been replaced by the eco-friendly caskets....glad I waited around!! I saw your segment with your Mickeys in the background. I just started laughing....leave it to Michelle to have the Mickeys with her!! They should have had you be outside the studio.....that girl looked scared to death!! Congrats!! You did great!!
  15. Got a small fill today. When I got to the doctor's office they said I cancelled today's appointment in February. Uh, no, I scheduled an in-between appointment in February because I didn't think I could wait until April. They squeezed me in and I saw one of the rotating docs -- they are done with their residency but are working with my surgeon for one year. Then they will start their own practice. My surgeon was double booked all day today and man, did the waiting room look like it!! I cannot tell a difference yet, but I only got .5 cc and I'm on liquids for 24 hours. Keep your fingers crossed!! Michelle -- hope you got your office to look like you wanted -- tomorrow is your big day!! Enjoy!! Off I go to drink an apple melon Isopure....
  16. Haydee -- welcome home!! Kat -- Congrats on you wonderful day. Now, just to get rid of OB Guy.... Michelle -- I will try to be back from Curves in time (or watch before I go, if I am running as late as I did today!) Too cool!! Thought I had a contract job lined up for tomorrow, but no call back....maybe they just hadn't made up their mind yet and it will be on track for Wednesday. That would be nice -- I could save the 6 weeks severance for later..... Sweet dreams violets!!
  17. Judy and TracyK -- thinking good thoughts for you and your families... Try to leave all your worries at home and have fun on your trips!! Got one nasty day on tap today....it is almost 11 am and I can still see the thickest fog I've seen in a while. Laura -- I heard there were bad storms headed your way last night. Any problems? I go to the dentist today to see how the tissue graft did. I have to say the week and a half of mostly liquids helped some -- I lost 7 pounds!! When I walked into Curves last evening, one of the girls I haven't seen in a couple of months asked if I had lost weight. Great to hear, but no. But maybe that means that the inches are really noticable even if the weight is the same!! Make it a good day!!
  18. Good afternoon ladies!! I feel as if I have taken a step toward my new, better-for-me life... My last day at work was Wednesday. If you don't remember, my boss and I had an ethical difference of opinion and I didn't want to be involved. I rested and relaxed Thursday and Friday, and honestly, yesterday. Today I did sleep in, but then decided to rearrange the furniture in my home office since I will be spending so much more time in there. My desk is pretty big but also had a huge hutch top on it and that meant that the computer flat screen could only go in one place and that didn't leave much room for writing. I moved the hutch top off, moved the desk closer to the window, moved the double file drawer chest away from the window and next to the desk, so now the printer can sit there instead of on the desk. My cats are not happy with the changes -- they freak out anytime anything changes. But I am ready for tomorrow.... The plan while I am off is to go to Curves each morning (between 7 & 7:30 am) and then continue with a few more exercises when I get home and some treadmill time, jump in the shower and be ready to 'work' by 9:30 am. I also had some help reminding me of how my band works from my dentist -- I had a tissue graft to replace receding gum tissue -- don't read during lunch Terri -- they take it from the roof of your mouth. So I have been sticking with liquids and mushies since Tuesday. I have not been hungry at all and came to realize that I was eating because 'it was time' not because I was hungry. I have lost 7 pounds even with starting my TOM yesterday. If I can remember to eat when hungry and eat smaller amounts, I think I can get back to where I need to be. The exercise shouldn't hurt either. Sorry this is so long, but y'all share so much of yourselves with me -- I wanted to share a little with you. Kat -- please don't kill OB Guy...he's not worth it. I'll send moving vibes his way. Michelle -- guess it was the day to clean today. You, your bedroom; me, the office Have a great weekend!!
  19. Suzie -- I'm glad both of your sisters are doing better!! Keep those feet up for a bit longer...you deserve it!!
  20. I joined Curves in December, but didn't start going regularly until mid-February. I know (hope) that the extra weight (4-5 pounds) should be muscle gain and fat loss, but I don't like seeing the number on the scale going up!! Surely, soon, it will start on it's way back down.... I worked out really hard Friday night and my butt hurt all day Saturday -- I have a three level townhouse and going up the stairs was killer pain all day. Kat -- hope everything's ok.... I just joined Facebook this weekend and a lot of my friends are saying "It's about time...." Found a couple of people I had "lost" -- very cool!! Hope your Monday is sunnier than mine, Suz
  21. Hello Violets!! Laura -- have you tried to look at the maternity shirts at Target? Maybe even Target online?? Kat -- here's hoping the hives didn't hear (I'm whispering). Hope Rick's friend straightens up soon -- walking in someone's house uninvited?? Was he raised in a barn? Haydee -- don't let them get to you -- think Bloody Mary.... It's almost Saturday!! I'm getting a little frustrated with my band. In December I could only eat small amounts, now I am back to being able to eat pizza. And I don't physically feel hungry, but I am eating everything in sight. Give me a swift kick in the rear!! Here's to a great Friday...
  22. Congratulations Grandma Judy and Momma Kris!!
  23. TracyK -- I'm here!! I've been struggling with a tough decision and have been silent. I've been keeping up with my reading on the posts, though. Last Tuesday I told my boss to start looking for a replacement for me. He is doing things I think are unethical and I cannot stay and work for someone like that. Because of the economy I tried to overlook it since December, but I just ended up making myself sick. Decided I was more important than that!! I've felt so much better since I talked to him -- I made him agree to a severance package after I stay to train the replacement. Michelle -- I am so glad that you helped out your neighbors and that they are appreciative. Here in Charlotte yesterday, we started the day with rain (as we have for the last three days) then in the afternoon it changed to sleet for about an hour and then to snow. We got 2 inches of rain and then 4 inches of snow. We had thundersnow -- that's what Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel called it -- never heard of that before. Weird to have thunder and lightning with snow!! Charlotte doesn't have much road equipment, so since the temp is actually dropping this morning, I called in and said I would be in later once the sun can work a bit. I grew up in Indiana but icy roads are not something I want to play with. (That and not liking my job!) Laura -- don't forget to call any brothers or sisters you might have as well. I never got called until hours after the baby was born. I was just like Judy though, wanting to call, but not wanting to bother anyone. Well, I guess I'd better go fix some breakfast.
  24. Suziecat - I'm glad that cookie dough is in your refrigerator. If it were in mine it would be eaten...that's one of my favorite BAD things to eat. And it goes down so smoothly -- even after the band.:mad2:
  25. My two cats, Wesley and Bailey, (litter mates) sleep on the bed, but I have to have the blanket on top of the comforter so that they can sleep under it if they want. Yep, they are spoiled rotten!! Wesley, a sweet boy, will sleep with his head on my pillow and his paw reaching out to touch my face. Bailey, my pretty girl, loves to lick my face and especially lip balm. Drives me crazy -- hate it!! Sometimes I can get her to massage my back -- love that!! I have a queen bed that I share with the cats. I'm not sure that it's big enough to share on a regular basis, but so far that hasn't been a problem.... Today was a pretty good day since I got the reporting package finished and sent to the auditors. Yippee!! I left work at 6:15 and went to Curves. I feel great after working out -- it's been two weeks. Need to remember this feeling!! I also called and scheduled a fill for Monday to help get the eating back on track. Have a good evening!!
