Wow!! I went out of town for 24 hours and look what happens -- Carlene -- OMG. BBK -- Glad Faith is better and that you both are home now. With my upcoming gallbladder surgery, I asked my parents if they might want to come visit (after all it has been 18 months since they came here). Mom said they would talk about it, but if they decided not to, I would be fine. Yeah, but thanks for your concern..... I guess that's what I get for telling them I didn't need them to come down last year when I was banded. I just didn't want to make a big deal about it. They usually visit twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, so I thought their visit could wait until later.....little did I know it would be so long. Aren't families fun?? Enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Ebony -- so sorry to hear this. My only advice is to not make any rash decisions -- see how you feel once the shock has worn off. I wonder if the timing has anything to do with your daughter going to college.....but I can't remember, did she leave home or is she still living with you? Hugs,

Vote #222 for Mr. Carson!! He'll be ahead of Abigail before long!! My gallbladder surgery will be next week or Labor Day week, depending on when they can get me in, I'll know after I meet with the surgeon on Monday afternoon. And I got a promising call from a recruiter for a JOB!! Wouldn't that be nice!!

Laura -- I was looking at the rules for Carson's contest -- see below. We can vote every 12 hours!!!! "Any and all photographs submitted by an entrant is/are eligible to win but only one photo per child will be entered into the contest. Each entrant will be entering into the Contest for the calendar year unless otherwise notified. The winners of the Contest will be the entrant that submits the photograph that receives the most confirmed votes from the voting public during the period of the contest. Technologies have been put in place to limit the number of votes one person can cast to once every 12 hours."

Good morning ladies! Well, I have gall stones and will have to have my gall bladder removed. My band doc could do the surgery, but probably not until the end of September, and would not do a band replacement at the same time (according to his nurse - he's in Paris until next week). Waiting to hear from the doc on the referral to her choice of surgeons. The good news is that I feel SO much better -- no pain!! Yesterday was my first OTC med free day -- here's to another!!

TPG -- Hang in there!! Heartfire -- rant all you want.....I also gain weight anytime I eat Chinese or salty things so I try not to weigh after those days. Thanks everyone!! I'll try to post more often. I would say that I'm always here lurking, but that makes me sounds eerily like plain..... I did end up getting the ultrasound today, so we'll see what good news tomorrow brings.
-
Hey at least you made me laugh -- that's been tough to do lately!! Thanks!!
-
Thanks Glouc -- We are still in the diagnosis stage. Today was the collect stool sample day, if the pain gets worse or the samples (took blood too) are not conclusive then we'll move on to an ultrasound. She also suspects a GI infection. At one point I vaguely recall her saying it won't matter what you eat or what OTC drugs you take, you will continue to have symptoms until we get you on an antibiotic..... But didn't prescribe one yet. I hate to say this to jinx myself. My tummy is louder today but not as bloated and painful. Loud I can deal with. Painful sucks!! Well, off to deliver my samples!! Yippee!! I forgot kc was having her dental work today -- hope you are soon feeling better kc!!

Jenn -- Sorry about all the stuff with Kev, but you sound like you have your mindset in the right place!! Congrats on the weight loss!!

Hi everyone!! Longtime lurker, sometime poster here. I need some help here mainly from kc and plain..... I went to my PCP Monday after a week of gas / bloating / diarrihea and she said I may have gallbladder issues. My question is what the *$ can I eat that will not cause me to bloat so much. I know this is a loaded question...... I am not so much worried about nutrition at the moment, I am just looking for something that will not make my digestive system go beserk (medical term!). I am mostly unfilled due to a *&!@ leak but that's a whole other issue. Sunday the waffles and OJ were ok as were the granola bars. Monday, the granola -- not so much, but the O'Charley's loaded potato soup and chicken tenders were ok, just in time for my doctor's appointment of course!! Thanks!!

I wasn't hungry, but I was drinking protein shakes and water continuously -- I didn't want to chance getting hungry. I did get pretty snarky by day 2 or 3 -- I had 2 weeks of pre-op liquids.

Yep, what a cutie!! I voted and put the shortcut on my desktop!!

That would probably be my choice too. I am very leery about getting a second band that could get another leak. And I am just not keen on the malabsorption issues with RNY. I'm just really scared to wait too long.....It's been a long six months and I've gained 20 pounds. But the question is how to pay for it.
-
Laura -- maybe we just need to fly to Houston and have Terry take us to Dr. Spivak!! I called Fill Centers USA and they will only use saline. A lady from Ethicon Endo-Surgery called back this afternoon and she said that she would check to see if any of the engineers were aware of Omnipaque. I told her I'd sign up for a trial!! I'm so upset and I'm only looking at a second surgery. I cannot imagine being in your place knowing that you have already had a revision once before!!
-
Laura, I am there with you. I had a fill to 7 ccs under floro August 3rd and they checked the band with contrast but could not see a leak. Yesterday he could only get 2 ccs. Just found out that my insurance (switched 10/2008) does not cover anything related to weight loss anything. They paid several claims and when I called to question the one they didn't pay -- they now are going to reverse all the payments. So I am going to get to pay for all those fills and 2 flouro appointments. My doctor is telling me that there is no manufacturer's warranty at all. I am trying to get him to try Omnipaque, but he doesn't know anything about it at all. Suggestions? I did call Realize and document a complaint about the leak -- not that I think it will do anything. I am not working at the moment and my Premier Designs jewelry business is not doing much at the moment either. When it rains it pours!!
-
Does anyone know if the Realize band has any type of manufacturers warranty? Even if it is a one year limited warranty? Thanks!!

Just got back from the band doc. We were sure I had a leak so I went to CMC Mercy to radiology. Cannot see a leak under x-ray – it could be so small that it is a drop every 15 minutes….. The doctor knows what he put in today and I see him in 2 ½ weeks. Maybe I just need him doing the adjustments?? Last Wednesday the resident could only get 1 cc. Today the doc said he pulled out another 2 cc (I was supposed to be totally unfilled). So we are still in wait mode…..but at least now I have 7 ccs in my band!! I love restriction!! Liquids today and maybe tomorrow. 7 ccs is where I was when I last was doing well – December / January. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes!!

This is from 11 pages back -- I am working on catching up.... When I was Accounting Mgr and HR at my company (currently not working) I got a phone call from a dad about his son's resume. I made a note and when it came in I filed it immediately. If the son cannot take enough responsibility to send out his own resumes (and he's a senior in college) he is going to have some trouble at work on his own!!
-
I've got pages to catch up on, but I thought I would post an update. Saw my surgeon today -- he agrees that I have a leak, will inject dye under flouro on Monday. Here's hoping it's an easy fix!! I've gotten to where I ask them to check the level at every appointment. I had 6 ccs in May, 2 in July + the 1 the PA put in, but today less than 1 cc. Not good. Please think good thoughts for me......:juggle:

I am pretty sure Allie meant August not April. Allie -- I too was in a similar situation at work and was laid off as well. I haven't found full time work yet, but I am selling Premier Designs jewelry. Also, I started the process to be a foster parent. I manage to stay pretty busy.

I'm here!! I'm dreaming about those 4 pans of brownies.... Yum!! Yesterday was my bandiversary so I am trying to get myself back on track. Time to get serious again!! Have a great afternoon -- hope the weather holds out for you, Suzie! Kat, enjoy the family! At least the ones you can!
-
Good night Suzie!! Enjoy the pool with the high temps -- I intend to here in Charlotte (but it's not as warm here)!!
-
Haydee, How wonderful!! Congratulations!!
-
Kat -- I am actually trying not to move today. I think I have the flu and the less moving, the less chance of getting sick again. My brain isn't working today -- I'll have to think about what I like about me tomorrow.
