Hello lovely Violets!! Well, I didn't get the job, I was the 2nd choice. So I keep looking!! I do, however, have a new resolve to use the time I have been given to a better advantage -- walking on the treadmill every day, Curves three days a week minimum, etc. I have wasted so much time while I have not been working.....

Be careful calling the insurance company....advice from my surgeon's office. I did that a few months ago and discovered that the insurance my company switched to (when I was still there, now COBRA) doesn't cover any WLS or anything weight related. The lady at the doctors office went through and re-coded everything to something non-weight related, ie, migraines, high blood pressure, depression. All things I do have.... and none have come back since. Fingers crossed! She also asked me to call her first and not the insurance company. Well, I found out today that I was the 2nd choice for the job interviews I had. Grrrr!! I guess that means there's something better out there. I wish it would hurry up and arrive already!! Slim & Tap - glad you have dodged the bullet for now. Praying that continues.

Now I'm speachless. Very weird.

I am feeling great!! As I mentioned earlier, I walked on the treadmill this morning while the cable, phone and internet were out and went to Curves this afternoon. I did have them take out the abs exercises and the squat machine for a while to recover from the surgery, but it felt good to work out and get all green dots!! Yea Curves smart!! The food intake is still the hardest part but I've done ok with that today as well. It all starts with the first day...... Well, I think I am getting back in the right mindset. Last night at my homeowner's association meeting I resigned from the board with one year left on my term. I have been on the townhome board for 7 years and the first 4 years I was also on the master association (single family and townhomes combined). I am done with all the petty crap. Someone else can step up for a while. One of the guys that got elected last night is not someone I want to work with so I definitely will NOT be tempted to re-up any time soon. Oh, and by the way -- I hate fish!! Fish makes me gag!!:mad2:

Heather, I have been lucky that the boards I have been on (three different homeowner's association boards) have all been kinda informal and everyone has gotten along well so we haven't needed the formality of most board meetings. We always followed an agenda, etc, but didn't get bent out of shape if some broke into the conversation with something different. I guess I am an informal kind of person so it worked ok. Haven't studied Robert's Rules of Order. Judy, I too am saddened that you have so much strife at church. My parents are quite active in their church and I cannot imagine them going to two different churches. (I almost was an Episcopal priest's daughter -- my Dad went to seminary for a year or so) Laura, did you parents figure out who sent the letter they got? Well, I think I am getting back in the right mindset. I walked on the treadmill this morning while the cable, phone and internet were out and went to Curves this afternoon. I did have them take out the abs exercises and the squat machine for a while to recover from the surgery, but it felt good to work out and get all green dots!! Yea Curves smart!! The food intake is still the hardest part but I've done ok with that today as well. It all starts with the first day......

I was only on both for 4 years and then the one for 3 more years, but yeah, enough is enough! Time for someone else to step up for a while!! I actually resigned and skipped my final year because I've had it with all the petty stuff -- kinda like Michelle's PTA drama. One of the guys that got elected last night is not someone I want to work with so I definitely will NOT be tempted to re-up any time soon. Sorry about the early morning .... I was still awake at 3 am. Don't know why. At least I could sleep in this morning. Hopefully some news about the job tomorow. Keeping my fingers crossed. After 6 months at home, I am BROKE! and bored.:mad2:

Ooops, Kat, I forgot to say that I am glad Rick's appointment went well!!

Plain -- too funny!! Lu -- that puppy has grown a foot since the last picture!! Still way too cute though!! Taps -- sorry about the eyes, hope they are getting better!! Lu, I still think you are one very lucky woman to have the husband you do. Beth, sorry yours is being such a pain..... I guess that's why I don't have one. (Probably only one reason, I'm sure the low self-esteem and weight issues had nothing to do with it, but I digress) I've always said that I have managed to do pretty well on my own and when I read your struggles it sometimes makes up for some of the loneliness. No cable, phone or internet for 3 hours this morning. They cut the line again. It happened one day two weeks ago and then again today -- grrrr! How am I supposed to keep up with PJTP with no internet access?? I did walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes since there wasn't much else available. Yea, me!!

Laura, I take it that your parents own and run a business -- what kind? Was there anything in particular that set this employee off (not that there is anything worth wishing someone else dead!)? Well, after 7 years I have finally resigned from my townhome homeowner's association board of directors. For 4 years I was on both the townhomes and the master association. I know, call me a glutton for punishment!! It may not last long, but for now, I am board FREE!! Woo hoo!!

Jenn -- Good for you!!

Morning, well, afternoon...... I slept late today too -- 10 ish. I've been waking up by 8 am during the week, guess my body thought it was Saturday, I could sleep in. That or I tried to do too much yesterday. One week out from surgery and now all that itches are the incision points. Hope that means they are healing. See the surgeon on Monday. Weighed the laundry basket and found I could carry it -- crap!! Oh well, one load and now it's done. Have a great weekend!!

It was HR / drug testing related. He wanted to cover up a positive result. Which is just stupid because we had this 2nd chance agreement that we had made someone do just 2 months earlier. Just add one more to the *&%$ thing. But this was the golden boy so he didn't want to do that. But the golden boy was stupid and told everyone about the positive result before he took the test. I just didn't want it to affect me professionally, so I left -- on my terms. As a CPA all I really have is my integrity and reputation. Tap, I'm sorry I forgot to ask you about your eye earlier -- I was thinking of you. Guess I got CRS too!!

Has anyone in North Carolina had their doctor use Omnipaque for their fill (instead of saline) because of a leak? If so where are you located? Thanks so much!!

Something is very rotten in Denmark!! That just sucks!! So the suspension is tomorrow and Monday? I know you have a plan and will work it to it's best advantage but still. *&^$#!! Where I worked until March we had a girl that we were trying to get rid of because she was causing all kinds of conflict with every department in the company -- we only had 20 people in this location & 40 people total and only one or two liked her and they were sleeping with her..... We ended up just laying her off in the first round of layoffs, course her boss said she would be the first one re-hired. So glad I am not there anymore!! I was HR and the Accounting Manager and I VOLUNTEERED to be laid off. They were doing things I didn't agree with ethically. Sorry to go off on a tangent. Take care everyone!!

I know how it can feel Haydee, my Mom means to say something as just a comment or even a compliment and it just ends up sounding like a complaint. I mentioned it to her when she and Dad were here after Dad upset her. He worries about her poor health -- she has severe COPD and refuses to start oxygen. I reminded her that Dad lashes out because he is worried and then she says something and her tone causes him to take it wrong and it just escalates. You'd think after being married for 51 years they'd have some of this figured out??!! Congrats on the working out -- I'm proud of you!!

Good luck Ebony!! You are a strong woman and you can handle whatever they dish out. Beth -- I don't know what to say..... I've been looking for six months and haven't found anything (except these two interviews in the last two weeks). It's really tough here. Yesterday I had to go get some prednisone from my PCP, I was having an allergic reaction to either the hydrocondone or the IV antibiotic during my gall bladder surgery. Still taking zyrtec x2 (ok'd by PCP) for the itching. Course the doc says Now this will make you hyper. Great! Just what I need before a job interview!! They did know that I had just had surgery on Friday, so I mentioned the drug reaction and the doc's comments and he laughed, said that they'd take that into consideration. I think it went ok, but I won't know for sure until next week. The CFO had a death in the family and wouldn't be back until Tuesday. Talk to ya'll later!

Terri - I had tried to PM you, but it came back. You said that you hadn't lost even .1cc after your fill. How long had you been at that fill level with no loss of fill? I asked my doctor to contact your doctor, but I haven't heard anything back yet. I haven't totally discounted the possibility of flying to Houston....if Dr Spivak would see me. Still trying to find someone closer to home that uses it though. Thanks for all your help!! I had a second interview yesterday but will not find out until next week. Kinda slow moving today with all the running around I did yesterday. I went to my PCP in the morning to get prednisone to calm the drug reaction to the hydrocodone or IV antibiotics from my gall bladder surgery. Still taking zyrtec x2 (ok with PCP) to help calm the itching. I know I wrote more than this the first time before it disappeared into LBT never never land.....

What she said!!

Once again I am a few pages behind..... My nieces (5 and 7) would love this!! They only eat bread to get the butter!! My only question is how do you deep fry butter without it all disappearing -- I guess it is frozen?

Good morning!! I ended up having three job interviews with two different companies on Thursday before my surgery on Friday. Have just heard back that the one wants to see me again tomorrow. The other was a phone interview in early afternoon and then he wanted to see me in person that same afternoon. No other news on that one yet. Been resting after surgery -- my parents did come down and wouldn't let me do anything. If I'd really thought about it, I should have mentioned that the laundry needed to be done!! I'll have to do small loads.....I am not supposed to lift more than 20 pounds. I live in a three story townhouse and of course, the laundry is on the ground floor. My parents left yesterday after we went out for breakfast and I had a very lazy day watching / sleeping through a Criminal Minds marathon on A&E.

HI everyone!! Home from the surgery and feeling ok, sleepy from the pain meds, so I am off to take a nap!! Thanks for all the well wishes!! PS. The interviews went well.....

Hi everyone!! Home from my gall bladder surgery this morning. Feeling fine but sleepy from the pain meds. Thanks for all the well wishes!!
-
Hi!! (waves) Things are looking up -- I have a phone interview today and a real (in-person) interview today!! Yeah, me!! Both are for what I was doing when I was laid off with very similar pay and benefits. Nice!! While I love staying caught up with LBT, I need to be back at work and busy!! Have a great day and I'll try to pop in tomorrow afternoon to say Hi after my surgery.
-
Pam, Stupid question -- what are ESL classes? I got my surgery date today -- Friday the 4th, bye-bye gallbladder. And I have a job interview on Thursday!!
-
Kat -- maybe she should take some pictures of Kinsey? Carson is ahead of Abigail in votes!!
