New Podcast for Bartiatric Fitness?
dolphin839 replied to NurseMichael's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Thank you. It would be very helpful. -
I get you, I can't finish a whole ear either. I think 1/2 ear is good.

Any cool tracking apps for fluids and protein?
dolphin839 replied to jasminekindred's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also use Baritastic. It also gives you reminders when to eat, your protein, etc. It also will log your weight loss and exercise. -
I'm sore on the left side of my belly and my rib cage. I think that was from the gas and not being able to move. I believe the only dumb question is the one not asked. Having said that, I haven't been afraid to drink anything after the first day but I did drink a sip of carbonated water accidentally.....i would not recommend. Try to keep drinking your protein shakes. my book says to start by drinking 4 ounces over one hour and build up slowly and remember the shakes count, yogurt counts, strained soup counts too. I'm not a doctor but you can try that until you contact your doctor. Good 🍀

i was sleeved on the 2nd and nothing happened until today. you might want to check with your doctor about no BM. He suggested I try an alternative laxative and let's just say no more issues. I first thought since we are on a liquid diet, didn't have to worry. Good luck 🍀

I'm also planning on taking the Flintstones chewables complete. They're fun to take and don't taste bad. -
I agree, you are doing good. ☺

Anyone having surgery the first week of January?
dolphin839 replied to redrobin2175's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Maggie, I had surgery on the 2nd and I'm still in pain. On the good side, it's getting better every day. Fluid wise I'm getting slightly more fluid in and also no appetite either. Good luck -
My surgery is tomorrow morning and I'm also concerned about excess skin. I heard not everyone gets this issue and I hope I will be lucky 🍀
-
I happen to agree with Brittany Blue. My surgery is tomorrow morning first thing and I have been freaking out over the surgery, but today I'm at peace, From what I hear this is perfectly normal and the feeling of backing out does go away. Maybe my surgical team did me a favor by making me the first patient tomorrow? Think back to what motivated you to have the surgery in the first place. Don't you want a long healthy life with your wife? Sure you do. I've been worried about excess skin too but my Bariatric nurse said it doesn't happen to everyone. It may not happen to you. This year is our year to shine! Keep your eyes on the prize at the end of the journey.

Does everyone go through this feeling??
dolphin839 replied to md73's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm starting to become nervous myself. My sleeve is January 2nd and I just got my time for surgery. I do believe it is the "liquid diet" talking and I'm trying to remember how far I came. -
Fantastic!
-
I never thought about having it fixed at surgery. I plan on calling the office and asking. Thank you
-
I also have a small hiatal hernia and there is no delay for me. I like the suggestion of speaking with the anesthesiologist if you get nervous. my date is January 2nd and I'm a little nervous.

dolphin839 replied to WLS4ME33's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Jaz I truly believe only we know how we feel and we are on a journey to better health and a longer life. My sleeve is Jan 2nd and my pre op qualifying is done but I just took each test and consult one at a time and soon you will be looking at your date. Good luck on your journey to better health and a longer, happier life. -
I'm January 2nd and I wish you all the luck on your journey. I like your screen name...so appropriate 😊

Hang in everyone. I saw a post that said"this will be our year and we will do it".

I can't believe I'm one week away! I have been losing weight on the pre-op diet and so far, I have been able to shock friends (pleasantly) , exercise longer and have less pain in my joints. This is before surgery? I can't wait to see what happens next.

Anyone having surgery the first week of January?
dolphin839 replied to redrobin2175's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi niceross. It took a few days for my weight to start dropping but I noticed it in other ways first. How do your clothes feel on you? I moved up my drivers side seat closer to the steering wheel. Friends of mine did a double take when they saw me. Have you weighed yourself recently? I do think you're losing weight but I think it starts internally. I wish you a lot of luck and when you start to see it on the scale, you will be pleasantly surprised. -
Thank you. I wish you all the luck too my surgery buddy.

My surgery is January 2nd and I'm on day 7 of the pre surgery diet. -
My sleeve is set for January 2nd. It's Christmas Day and I plan to stick to my pre-surgery diet even though it will be hard.
