  1. Started working out at week 5. That’s when I finally had the energy to exercise.

What do you guys do for fun?

Something creative. I just bought a “paint by numbers” from amazon. It will keep me busy for weeks!

    No Weight Loss--like at all

I lost weight the first week post op and then nothing at all for the three weeks following. It was torture and I regretted my surgery at that point. Now I’m much farther along and I am in a much happier place. I can eat like a normal person just very small portions. So far the weight loss pattern for me is: lose 12 lbs in a week, stall for 3 weeks, lose 12 in one week, stall again. My surgery was 1/17 so I’m 8.5 weeks post op and I’ve lost a total of 24 lbs. Have a feeling I’ll be stalled for another 2 weeks before I lose anymore. We are all different and lose differently so don’t stress too much.

    Help with dehydration

Try Powerade zero and vitamin water zero. Not Gatorade 2 because it has sugar. Both drinks were suggested by my nutritionist to help with dehydration and fatigue due to dehydration. They helped me a ton! I also like the Crystal Light Pure lemonade flavor packets.

    Am I losing to slow???

My surgeon has a chart of where we should be at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year post op. It’s based on your total excess weight. I have been told that the first 6 months are the most crucial. Whatever you lose in those 6 months, you will lose 50% of that in months 7-12. All that being said, stick to your diet and keep the faith and you will succeed!
  6. I moved through my stages a little quicker than expected but my nutritionist gave me the go ahead. I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. The Doritos and chewing and spitting is the concerning part. Junk food three weeks after surgery is not good. I would make an appointment with your nutritionist and/or therapist as soon as possible. You do not want to get back to old habits. Just remember, this is a learning process. we all make mistakes. It’s how we recover from them that counts. You’ve got this!
  7. Yesssss!! I’m not married but I would like to date and it would be really nice to know that I can fit into a guys jacket! Love those movies when the woman wakes up next to a guy and puts his shirt on and it looks like a dress. I want that!! Just dreaming over here lol.

    Goals

I love the idea of going to see a play or concert! New hairdo is a great idea as well. Thank you so much! Lots of great things to think about.

    Goals

I have made goals for myself to keep me motivated throughout this process. My nutritionist has given me a 3 month, 6 month and one year goal but I also made some mini goals in between. I am looking for suggestions on the rewards. Going out to a nice dinner is no longer a great reward lol. I also don’t want to buy too many new clothes until I get closer to my goal weight. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Today I hit my first goal and my reward is a spa day. Can’t wait to schedule it!

    Soft Serve Protein "ice Cream"

Instead of using milk and protein powder I wonder if you can use a premier protein shake. That would help with the amount of carbs.
  11. I am looking forward to never having to think about weight limits!!!! Especially when it comes to furniture. I hate looking at a chair and thinking to myself “if I sit on that will it break?” Horse back riding! I wanted to go horse back ridding while I was in Vermont last year. I was 30 lbs over the weight limit. Now I’m just 6 lbs over! So close! Hiking anywhere and being able to keep up. I love to hike but I’m always afraid I won’t be able to make it to the end of the trail or over the rocks. I can’t wait for my feet to shrink and to be able to buy regular boots and not the wide calf boots. Smaller fingers! I have always dreaded the moment when I finally get engaged and the ring not fitting. I’ve never been close to getting engaged but for some reason this has always been a fear of mine. Feeling confident enough to date. With online dating I’m always afraid that once the guy sees me he will run. Buying regular clothes. I really want to be able to walk into a boutique and actually fit into the clothes. I want to be able to wear a bathing suit without a cover up on.
  12. I only wish I had this problem. My clothes are nowhere near what you are experiencing. You should be proud and excited. Once you put on clothes that actually fit everyone will notice. It will be the most amazing feeling ever so be prepared!!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! It is so great to hear success stories.

    Need confirmation

7 weeks out and I’ve only lost 23 lbs. I say only because I wish it was more but I am also very happy with my results. Couldn’t have lost that much without surgery and I know I will continue to lose more. It’s a slower process than I thought it would be but staying positive

    Coffee-Yes or no?

I was told no caffeine for the first 6 weeks but decaf was ok to have right away. Not going to lie, I started drinking half caf coffee around week 5. I have had regular coffee a few times but try to stick to the half caf as much as possible.
