I haven't read any books like these but I probably need to. I'll add them to my Amazon wish list! Nice job doing the head work! Maybe add it to the Head Work thread FluffyChic has!

For those eating under 1000 calories

I use MFP too. Tried Baritastic and got frustrated with it. -
What is Pangasius??

Finally got my surgery date... when did you cut things out?
KCgirl061 replied to MeowAMR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cut out soda right away when I was in the 6 months MSWL. Started trying different protein drinks during that time too. That's about it though, ate a variety of foods during that time - just in moderation to lose the weight I needed to to qualify. -
Tilapia is my fish of choice for fish tacos. I don't understand the "its not a real fish" comment. Salmon is a favorite too and I like the different flavors tuna that Starkist has now.

I second this! Tried Celebrate chews and they aren't near as good as Bariatric Advantage.

Sleeved 6/11 and having issues with getting protein down...
KCgirl061 replied to DrButterfly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
BariatricPal store has Syntrax Nectar single packets in a lot of variety. Might try those. They can also be found on Amazon but I think BP is actually cheaper -
I've done Tabata before. It's intense but I didn't hate it. Until it involved burpees, then I hate any workout with burpees.

I don’t know. I think all bread is something I want to avoid but when I tried the egg white psyllium husk bread it lasted more like egg than anything so that might be ok. Will it crisp up at all on a sandwich press? Or is there anything low or no carb that will? I want to avoid carbs and bread. It will be in my best interest I think. Avoiding breads long term is a smart plan. Similarly, I don't want to go back to eating most breads. I have made some exceptions though - sprouted grain bread like Ezekiel is a nice healthy alternative, it has 120 calories, 22g of carbs (6g of fiber, 1gm sugar), and 6g of protein. It can be found in the frozen section of grocery stores and Ive found them at Costco. Another option I like are Mission Carb Balance tortilla wraps. They can be found in different sizes but one size is 60 calories, 19g carbs (14g fiber!!) and 5g of protein. I also see recipes for cauliflower bread grilled cheese on pinterest but I've never tried it.

Thanks Fluffy! Also solid advice.

That looks super simple! I'll have to try it!

Ooh that’s a fabulous idea! Thanks!

Glad you found someone you like and want to stick with. Was this perchance supposed to be in the surgeon reviews instead of a forum post though?

Congrats and keep up the good work!

How? Percentage excess body fat loss?
KCgirl061 replied to bariutiful's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I saw once the most simplest way to calculate for woman is 100 pounds at 5 ft and then add 5 pounds for every inch. So at 5'4" my ideal body weight is 120. My weight day of surgery was 202 so I had 82 pounds of excess body weight. -
You have to continue to sip for several weeks, perhaps even months post. I still don't tolerate ice water and ask for it room temp. I can drink warm drinks like tea and coffee a lot faster than water. I remember having a lot of dizzy spells too. They did go away at some point but I didn't notice when exactly. Hang in there! Feeling normal will return again but it does take time.

A lot of exhaustion. Give yourself the opportunity to rest and don't plan anything that would over exert yourself.

Sounds like what happens with me when I eat too fast or too much. And it mostly happens when I'm eating poultry or fish.

Stretching pouch directly after surgery?
KCgirl061 replied to Krestel's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Not necessarily, there is a lot of variation in surgeon's eating plans. Some progress very quickly, some much slower than others. I was on liquids for 6 weeks. -
I would always see commercials for pillows and stuff where people are trying to get comfortable shoving a pillow between their knees. I'd chuckle to myself and say "who needs pillows between their knees?! That's weird!" Now thin me can't sleep on my side. Why? Because my knees bang together and hurt! I'm totally one of those people now that need some weird fancy pillow to put between my legs! I also want to carry an inflatable donut around because I lost all my padding and my tailbone hurts sitting on a lot of chairs. Time to start a squat challenge and build up some glutes! What has surprised you about your new body?

Retraining your brain does anyone understand it
KCgirl061 replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's brutal, I know. Have you looked at ordering some different liquids from the BP store? They ship it out pretty fast, you wouldn't have to wait very long for it to arrive at all. I hope you can stick with it. *hugs* -
Happy Birthday and congrats on your success!

Some people tolerate carbonation. I don't know if it causes stretching or not but it certainly causes me discomfort. Whatever you try - seltzer water or a little wedding champagne toast - make sure you are sipping it slowly and find out how you personally tolerate it.

I just don't think its necessary to take an additional supplement - all those vitamins and minerals should already be in your multivitamin. You're not likely going to cause a toxicity of any of them, but you're just wasting money on additional doses of them that you already took.
-
I don't take Vitamin C with my multi - there is some already in there. I do take it with a (non dairy) snack to minimize nausea at bedtime. My calciums I take with breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
