    B12 levels over 2000

Mine came back in the 1900s. My surgeon said I was probably getting plenty in my multivitamin and didn't need to supplement extra B12. The excess in your body won't hurt you, but its just a matter of not wasting money on unnecessary vitamins.
  2. Thanks for sharing what you found!

    Water vs Protein?

Ditto. Some doctors don't want you to count protein drinks as your water but come on - its fluid. Its got to do something to help hydrate you. So when you find yourself short of both then reach for the protein drink and kill two birds with one stone. And then focus on hitting your goals better the next day.

How many calories do you eat a day?

I'm 11 months out and trying to put the brakes on my weight loss. Shooting for 1200 calories at 45% carbs (135g), 25% protein (75g) and 30% fat (40g).

    My hair!!!!!

Sorry I don't think there is much that can prevent the hair loss. I think it is more to do with the anesthesia or the hormone fluxation as I haven't heard of anyone that hasn't been a victim to it. The biotin will help new hair grow but won't help prevent current hair from falling out.
  7. We went to the Cheesecake Factory this Saturday. I studied all the outrageous calories in all my favorite cheesecake flavors, considered the low carb cheesecake. Considered just the bowl of strawberries and whipped cream. In the end I got the new Cinnabon cheesecake and it is DELICIOUS. It will take another day to finish. No regrets.

Bariatric surgery was a big mistake

Maybe this was a typo and you meant to say chocolate Bariatric Advantage CALCIUM chews - which are totally okay to take with milk. But if they are actually IRON chewables you need to stop taking them with milk as the calcium in the milk will interfere with their absorption.

Why do so many sleevers get GERD?

This was a concern of mine too. Especially on the Facebook bypass support groups I was on. They were saying that 25% of sleevers end up getting converted. Yikes! But you can’t believe everything you read on the internet and so I went looking for more reliable sources of information - namely medical studies. Sorry I didn’t save the links so you can read them for yourself but I have screenshots of the information I wanted: As you can see, the numbers are actually quite small! So don't feel you have to worry about getting a revision - statistics are in your favor!

    Protein bars

My absolute favorite protein bars are Quest bars. They have 20-21g of protein, 15g of fiber, only 1g of sugar and they taste great. My favorites are the chocolatey ones: Mint Chocolate, S'mores, Cookies n Cream, Cookie Dough, Peanut Butter & Chocolate.

    Vegetarians(or Vegans!)

I'm not a vegetarian but I do have some meatless ideas for you. I enjoy a lot of yogurt and cottage cheese. I find Oikos Triple Zero gives you the best high protein/high fiber/low sugar option. My favorite way to prepare cottage cheese is with toasted walnuts and a drizzle of honey. For meals I have a fiesta black bean quinoa salad that my husband and I just love. (I'll post a link for the recipe) I also like to make wraps with hummus and black beans, spinach leaves and red pepper slices. Egg salad would also be a good idea especially if you are still early in pureed/soft stages. So would lentil soup. https://www.crunchycreamysweet.com/roasted-sweet-potato-black-bean-quinoa-salad-recipe/ https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/lemony-lentil-soup/
  12. Honestly, I never had any buyers remorse. I went in knowing I was having major surgery. Just because it is done laproscopic and had small incisions it is still MAJOR SURGERY and isn't going to be without some pain and exhaustion, even chances of complications. Its something I knew I had to get through but that I would get through it. The pain only lasted a couple days. The exhaustion was longer, maybe 2-3 weeks.

    How much can you eat???

I'm 11 months out and can eat up to a cup of certain foods, especially fruits and veggies. But like yesterday for lunch I had 1/3 cup of tuna salad on a single slice of sprouted grain bread and couldn't finish it. I can only eat about 2 ounces of meat like grilled chicken or steak.

    Oh the places you'll go!

Oh I looked it up. Its not that its a rule not to put your face in the water, you just really really don't want to get that water in your eyes!

    4th of July food?

I don't feel grilled chicken is soft food at all! I still sometimes have trouble chewing grilled chicken and eating it slowly enough. Don't risk it! What about deviled eggs? Make some to take with you and share with your friends and family.

    Over the counter vitamins?

I was told Flintstones were only okay for the first 6 weeks. Then I had a specific requirements for my multi vitamin. I take Bariatric Pal One. When I bought a year supply it broke down to only $9 a month.

    Oh the places you'll go!

I'd love to swim in the Dead Sea.
  20. Seems like I do a great job at work sticking to my healthy eating habits - greek yogurt for breakfast; P3, tuna or chicken salad for lunch; protein bar in the afternoon. Then I get home in the evening and the craving for sweets intensifies times ten! I'm sneaking handfuls of cereal, eating my daughter's granola bars, etc. I have the calories to spare usually but I need to spend them on healthier choices instead of pure sugar!

    Grilled cheese alternative?

When you take slices of cheese - real cheese, not American - and cook them in the oven on parchment paper and they turn into cracker consistency. Very yummy. Very easy to eat 5 or 6 slices of cheese in one sitting, so you have to be careful with them. Sharp cheddar tastes just like cheese nips.

    Dieting like a dragon

Crickets and roaches... I bet that would be a hard no from most! including me.

    Dieting like a dragon

Spinach is actually one of the green leafies that dragons cant have in large amounts. Its never been one of my favorites. The only way I can tolerate it is at the Indian resturants when I order Saag - which is one of my favorite Indian dishes!
  24. And I shouldn't eat popcorn especially movie theater popcorn just because its a slider and I can eat eat eat it without stopping!
  25. Chicken. I always eat it too fast.
