Find some Chelated Iron - I heard that absorbs in a way that doesn't cause constipation. -

Insomnia sucks. That is all. I laid in bed for hours tonight trying to sleep, trying to get ABBA's Dancing Queen out of my head. Alas its still there. So I thought I'd jump on BP and log some time, rack some points in the store for my next vitamin order. WHasssssup??? Unknown-4

Waking up from Surgery. Any Tips?

Ah going to blame autocorrect on that one. I changed it back to the intended word: TORADOL. LOL -
Waking up from Surgery. Any Tips?
KCgirl061 replied to ellie123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I told myself over and over again "You're going to wake up in pain, so don't be surprised and don't whine about it" I work as a surgical nurse and its not that I get irritated with people who wake up from their procedures and are complaining of the pain, I just didn't want to be that vulnerable of a person in front of MY coworkers. Guess what happened? I whined. I maxed out on the pain meds he ordered and I remember hearing them ask for an additional order of toradol. I'm not sure yet how big of a butt head I was, Im almost afraid to ask. But no amount of mentally preparing seemed to do any good. I think GreenTealeal gave you the best advice. -
Should I cut my hair? (Hair Loss)
KCgirl061 replied to AstroCat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Personally I can't wait to cut my hair. Before I got married I had cute pixie cuts in nursing school that were so easy and I just loved. My husband prefers me with long hair and so I keep it shoulder length so I don't have to listen to him whine. I have my short cut picked out and everything. -
I Said I Wouldn't Do It....

Sadly, I'm not very good at food tracking either. I'm 8 days posts and not even doing a good job of tracking my ounces or protien. -
Great thanks. So how long would you say it lasts? Like 2-3 hours?
-
When you use it for back and joint pain do you use it topically or sublingual?
-
Good luck! Stick with it as best you can. It really helped me learn to distinguish physical hunger and head hunger, which I find vital to establishing a successful postop eating lifestyle.

I’m one week postop. The day I got home from the hospital I had my kids hide the scale. I don’t want to focus on my weight at this point. If I could opt out of weighing in at my follow up appointments I would. I don’t need to see it fluctuating and stressing me out. At six weeks post I’ll ask for the scale back and weigh myself once a week Monday mornings.

I bought my little Cheez Its again I just cant stay away from them
KCgirl061 replied to apositivelife4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Find a recipe to make your own! Use a flour with a low glycemic index, REAL CHEESE, REAL BUTTER. Throw some protein powder in to boot. You can make them a much healthier snack by doing that. https://realfoodrn.com/gluten-free-cheez-it-crackers/ -

When did you start losing hair?
KCgirl061 replied to ChloeSleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Luckly for us that had surgery in the summer, by the time hair loss stage rolls around it will be totally normal to throw on a cute stocking cap for fall/winter. -
diarrhea post op??
KCgirl061 replied to on my way to a new me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm at that stage where I don't trust my farts. I'm 4 days postop but I'm also taking miralax daily to avoid constipation -
Yes research shows it works for the sleeve too.
-
So I’m curious for those of you a couple months or more postop. Has your partner lost some weight as you’ve changed your eating habits? Stayed the same? Has anyone’s partner GAINED weight as you’ve lost? Just curious.
-
Well good news!! From what I can find through internet searches, researchers KNOW that it DOES happen - right now they are working to pinpoint exactly HOW it happens.
