Does Walmart rotisserie chicken have too much sodium?
KCgirl061 replied to skinny4kids's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sodium is usually measured in milligrams, not grams. I don't know if it was entered incorrectly on MyFitnessPal or a simple mistake when you typed it out. 47mg isn't too bad but 47g would be a salt block! But thats not the reason I commented. I looked up the question with a Google search and the result I found is 620mg in 3oz of chicken. https://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/wal-mart/rotisserie-chicken -
What a pain in the ass! I'd complain to the office manager and tell them how much time and money has been wasted since he can't write a simple clearance letter. Let them know they lost you as a future patient and you'll be telling everyone you know what a horrible experience you had with them. Trust me, in the medical field PATIENT SATISFACTION can be a very big deal. Throw a big a fit to the right people at that clinic and you do have a chance of getting the paperwork you need from them.

Glad you found a good substitute. I've endulged in pints of Halo Top and other high protein, low sugar ice creams (some also have decent fiber content). They certainly don't taste as good as real ice cream but I figure if I stick with it after a while it will be the new normal.

Hair loss & Biotin when did you start taking it?
KCgirl061 replied to Alikiinz's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I started taking it preop trying to make my hair as healthy as possible before fall out would happen. It didn't help too much. My hair still fell out. I also hear that its possible to take too much biotin and that can cause hair loss. So just make sure that there isnt already a good amount in your multivitamin before you supplement. -
Cheating at this stage puts you at risk for staple line leaks. Just keep that in mind. Your surgeon isn't trying to be mean telling you not to eat chicken, he's trying to keep you from having serious life threatening complications. The apple juice won't cause this kind of complication but another one much later on - regain. You have to watch out for and avoid liquid calories and apple juice and other fruit juices are huge ones. Don't kid yourself into thinking they're healthy because they're "fruit" - they are pure sugar and not healthy at all.

They call it a pouch reset but it doesn't really reset your pouch, it resets your head. Maybe in addition to the reset you could look into Weight Watchers or Noom - some program to help you with your choices.

Help im gaining weight at10 months post op
KCgirl061 replied to apositivelife4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My advice would be to come up with a menu and plan your meals. Avoid buying foods that you shouldn't eat. Maybe make your grocery list and get one of those apps for grocery pickup like they have at Walmart and Hyvee - depending what you have available in your area. That's usually free with a minimum purchase amount and would keep you from impulse buying. You DID NOT go through a major surgery to let that crap food back in your body! Think back to the struggles you went through immediately post op and all the success you've had so far. YOU CAN DO THIS! -

I want a second baby, but super scared of weight gain
KCgirl061 replied to jennyv83's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Sorry I can't give you advice from someone who has done this. But I'm sure if you talk to your bariatric team and a nutritionist about your concerns they will help you come up with a game plan. I would think that if you develop a healthy lifestyle including an exercise routine that kind of excessive weight gain in pregnancy can be avoided. Don't go eating crap food again just because you're pregnant and "eating for two". -

I'm stuck - What can do to finally have a bowel movement?
KCgirl061 replied to millykp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might need to resort to an enema or glycerin suppository if you feel the stool down in your pelvis and can't get it to pass. -
Pretty normal for any type of surgery really. I'm an operating room nurse and I hear that from patients all the time.

Wondering if I should continue Qysimia
KCgirl061 replied to Fazzini Bee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would get off them. They would help with the preop diet, but its manageable without. You wouldn't want the medicine to interfere with any drugs that your anesthesia team need to give you. The interaction between that and anesthesia drugs could cause an irregular heartbeat. If you do choose to continue to take it up to surgery day, be sure to let anesthesia know about it - its much more important that they are in the know than the surgeon. -
Lost only 1 pound in a week
KCgirl061 replied to annrose28's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You're post op though, which means that your body is still recovering from surgery and likely retaining water. I'm sure you'll see a big drop on the scale soon. Try not to stress about it and focus on those fluids. You're doing great! -
Just received insurance approval!
