  1. Hi all, I am looking to get your thoughts on how you felt right before surgery. Tomorrow is day 10 of my liquid diet, with surgery the following day. But suddenly I’m starting to question if I made the right decision. Maybe because I’m so hungry and seeing others eating is kinda depressing. But if I don’t go through with it I’ll feel like I’ve failed myself and others I’ve talked so in depth with. Please tell me I’m not alone in these thoughts and what you decided to do? Thank you all.
  2. Thank you all for responding. I did go through with the surgery Thursday and came home the next day. I truly know I made the right decision. And to healthy angel and dolphin, believe me that I know your pain and state of mind, but just stay positive and like some of the others told me, look at all the reason you’re doing this, mainly for YOURSELF. And how far you’ve come. You can do it and I believe in you! Keep drinking as much as you can to keep full and be proud of yourselves. It’s worth it!

    Any MN Sleevers?

From Minnesota here also. Had surgery on Thursday and came home yesterday. Doing well with pain. Good luck and keep your spirits up.
  4. Thanks again to all the helpful comments and discussions throughout this process. Had my GVS on the 27th, and the procedure went great. I feel very blessed. The only real pain I’ve had to deal with is the incision where they cut into the muscle to pull out the stomach, but even more so, the gas they pump into you. But getting up and walking around and using heat on my stomach has really helped relieve a lot of this. I didn’t realize how long the gas pain would last though. Still have some but it’s much better then before. And having a recliner at home is key also. I found lying in bed was just not comfortable, so the couch it is for me, and I don’t mind one bit lol. I was scared and almost cancelled but the thanks again to all the encouraging words here, this was the right decision.
  5. Thank you! I am feeling more confident with each response I get here. You’re all a great source of info and encouragement. I had a long talk with both my wife and mother tonight. And the one thing I’m really thankful for is their support in whatever decision I make. And as you’ve said, I’ve gone this far and it’s basically the liquid diet talking. A good nights sleep should help me clear my mind and feel better about it all. Thank you again!
  6. Thank you for the great comment. I truly appreciate it.
  7. Thank you so much for the words of encouragement.
  8. Thank you for the encouraging words. I stop to think, maybe I can try one more diet, or how I’m afraid I’ll never get to enjoy anything again the I do like to eat. But I know that is the entire reason I am doing this, to stop eating that way and get healthy. I just don’t want to ever look back with regret (either way). Thank you again! I appreciate everyone’s posts.

    December Sleevers??

Hello all. First time poster, and more anxious then nervous I would say. But only on day 2 of 10 right now on the liquid diet. Surgery is scheduled for 12/28. Excited for the future ahead and getting my life back to what it once was. My one concern is, how difficult was it till things got better on the liquid diet? Today I feel shaky, worn out, and nauseated. Did most people feel this way in the beginning also? Thanks for any reassurance.
