  3. I am in a funk...banded on 4/1/08 and have lost 25 lbs total. Most of that honestly was right after the surgery. I have had 2 fills, 1st one was 3 cc's (14 cc band) and second fill was 1 cc. I definitely have restriction from some foods but still do not have that "full" feeling after eating only 4 ounces of food. I have also joined a gym and am exercising at least 2 or 3 times each week. Thought that the weight would be falling off by now and I am kind of depressed. Thoughts?

Hit "goal" mentally at 4 months -

Thanks for this! I have only had 1 fill and do not feel the restriction I expected. I had surgery on 4/1 and have lost 20 lbs. However, most of that was immediately following the surgery so I have begun to get somewhat impatient. I have re-read some things about food choices and am not due to go into the docs again until 6/5 to determine whether or not I need another fill. Your words are encouraging!

Hi. If you are going the insurance route, get ready for a few months to battle! Otherwise, if you are not involving insurance, you can get through the consultations in as little as a month to 6 weeks and be in surgery shortly thereafter. I went to a couple of meetings that were recommended, met with a surgeon, had an apptmt with a nutritionist, another apptmt with the surgeon, then had to lose weight (they encourage this to reduce the fat in the liver pre-op), then had my pre op tests and was in surgery. All of this took approximately 6 weeks.
  6. It sounds as if your Mom needs a fill and a refresher on healthy eating. Her gas is something that should be discussed with her doctor but could be due to the poor choice in foods she is making.
  7. Did you have a fill recently?
  8. Everything has gone well. However, last night I felt something shift - it almost feels as if I have something stuck and continue to swallow. Has anyone else experienced this or could this be a minor slip? I can still drink liquids and have never had any PBing or vomiting but I want to make sure this is not a sign of slippage.

    Early slippage

Does anyone know what it feels like to have minor slippage? I just had my surgery about 9 days ago, have not had any PBing or anything weird. Last night after I ate, I kept feeling as if something was "stuck" and continued to swallow. Today the same. I definitely feel a shift of some sort but don't know if this is slippage or if I am being paranoid?
  10. Hello. I just had my surgery on Monday and have not yet checked this site out. Is it a good one?
