You guys! Pamprin and a few other off brands ice acetaminophen (aka tylenol) as their main pain medication! I've been using generic pamprin and it's awesome SW: 366 CW: 329 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -

Real California April replied to 2feelinggreatagain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Trouble getting up in the morning
Real California April posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery I was a lark owl (idk if that's a thing but I was just as happy to wake up early as I was staying up late.) Now that morning aspect is beyond gone. I struggle to get up and usually feel sick. Today I called in because I was sure I was going to pass out. I've been up for 2 hours and I'm starting to feel a little better. Anyone else go through this? Do I just have to drag my feet through mornings now? I don't see my doctor or get lab results until the 2nd week of Feb. SW: 366 CW: 329 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -

Since when is my butt a size 14?
Real California April replied to Creekimp13's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This morning I realized I need a new belt lol. I'm on the smallest hole now! I never had a butt but now I don't have a rear and I'm losing the front. I try not to move too fast in my jeans because they have nothing to really hold on to SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -
2 weeks pre-surgery....very nervous reading some of the posts
Real California April replied to ~Primrose~'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Ya know.... I was so depressed after and regretted everything. I had to get Iv fluids multiple times after. It might be too late and I might need a picc line. But you know what? I'm a student and, for the first time in a long time, I fit in a desk. I rode a bike. It's hard but focus on what you'll be able to do instead of what ifs and what you can't do. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -
Not sure where to post this but... I didn't have any mobility issues till after surgery. I mean it's temporary but still messing with my head. I never had problems showering or walking before. To make matters worse, my daughter has been at her grandparents house. They planned a vacation and my daughter wants nothing to do with me. I missed her so much though. I know I'm being overdramatic but damn. I'm on Oxys for pain but I've been having horrific nightmares since! Like I'm actually depressed. Really depressed. I take pills for it but they're not even working. Damn [emoji17]

Man am I tired. Before surgery I was somewhat active. I hated sitting around the house. Now I'm exhausted all the time. How did you guys combat this? Ugh SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017!

Long story short, I was so dehydrated at one point that I couldn't handle protein drinks or puree. Now I struggle with aversion and the thought of consuming anything but clear liquids gives me major anxiety. Doctor is giving me 2 weeks (well now a week and a half) to start consuming at least 40 grams of protein or I get a picc line. I've tried clear protein but I get the same hard core anxiety. Anyone else been through this? Help! SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017!

Struggling with aversion
Real California April replied to Real California April's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I tried fruit drinks and I have aversion to them too. I did try some soft food early (supposed to still be in puree) and I'm doing ok there SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -
Nerd fitness and other rpgs.
Real California April posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Anyone try nerd fitness or any other game based programs? I got into a huge fight with my gym so now I'm looking for something both me and my husband would enjoy. I'm a casual gamer and he's more of and actual gamer. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -

Yes I vomited multiple drinks that o could handle before I got that dehydrated. I have problems sampling because I get bad anxiety just thinking about drinking them. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -
Depression after gastric bypass surgery
Real California April replied to emmapundt93's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes! I just got through my depressed stage. I was actually suicidal. I actually blame my pickyness on my survival (I'm picky about schools and I want my daughter to enroll in a certain school.) I'm back on Zoloft (couldn't tolerate Ground or liquid version) which probably helps. Therapy is helping me sort things out. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -

Any other vegans out there struggling to find good protein sources?
Real California April replied to shelly420's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm not vegan but I have run into a lot of vegan products. Vega is one. Soy protein isolate is what my nut suggests but some have pea protein. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -

Surgery tomorrow morning
Real California April replied to camopink27's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Don't forget to advocate for yourself. If you're not comfortable or in pain, speak up! I remember one nurse asked my pain level (Standard 1 through 10) and I was like F***ING 15! I didn't leave them alone till I got some help. SW: 366 CW: 340 GW1: 200 RNY Dec 18, 2017! -
