43 pounds is great! Don’t lose heart. For me I find premier protein shakes, Atkins bars, babybel lite cheese and Dannie Greek yogurt easy to always have on hand or in the car. For more meal foods, soup with extra chicken added, Trader Joe’s “zucchini fritters” basically an egg and vegetable frittata, grilled chicken and beans from my local Mexican place. Trader Joe’s has some good low carb ready foods. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

Hi January sleevers, i had mine January 9th and I am down 60lbs since September 30 since surgery! Rate has slowed but I am trying to keep my exercise up. I wish my full energy were back but I still get tired by late afternoon. Even so I am very glad I did it! 20-25lbs to go.

I wanted to chime in. My surgery was on the 9th and at almost a week out I am feeling pretty good. I lucked out by not having any nausea, the worst part for me is the pain from the incision. I am managing with just ibuprofen and concentrating on protein and liquids. The weight is coming off and the energy is coming back. Good luck everyone it just gets better!

Hello fellow January sleevers, i had mine mime on the 9th and came home from the hospital yesterday. The gas and right side incision pain have been the worst part. It really hurts to cough. I am slowly feeling better working on getting my liquids/protein in for more energy. They gave me a bunch of small plastic cups 1 oz each and that helps for the siping. I am ready to steady dropping some serious weight ! Good luck everyone.

Congratulations on getting to the other side! Mine went pretty smoothly yesterday but I agree, the gas was worst part. Feeling a little too god after pain meds I also ended up drinking too much broth and water and now I know they mean by filling up your sleeve too fast! Very painful. I found walking while circling or flapping your arms helped the gas too. Hang in there everybody it should keep getting better from here

I am having it done on Tuesday and feel the same way. The reality is most of the other alternatives don’t work long term ( as you know). I have kids too and want to be around for them and keep up with as they get older. I am sure you will do great! We have to believe this will make all our lives better and healthier. Good luck!

Mine is on Tuesday and I am trying the last of the liver shrinking then on to clear liquids. I look forward to doing it without feeling hungry all of the time. I am starting to feel like let’s just get on with it. Getting very cranky from hunger. Grrrr! Thanks for the the hospital lists, they are very helpful.

Scheduled for Jan 9th and starting to get very nervous. With all of the holiday stuff it’s hard to stay focused on getting ready. Suggetions for decent tasting protein powder?
