  1. I would think you could say “Personally, I needed to lose weight for health reasons, but I still fully believe in accepting and embracing people of all sizes.” I mean, that’s the truth, fat people are treated poorly in our culture, and it’s wrong. Being an advocate for treating people respectfully regardless of their body size is a valuable thing regardless of your own weight.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

I replied earlier, but I had my sleeve on 7/13. I am struggling with the liquid diet. I would do anything for something soft or mushy even...just food. I hate that I’m always having to sip something that tastes disgusting (protein shakes and broth) and my tummy is constantly rumbling and bubbling, and causing burps. I miss meals with my family. I’ve seen from other threads that it gets better pretty quickly with most people able to eat mostly normally, although obviously in much smaller portions, around a month out. Trying to stay positive, but there have been moments when I’ve wondered if I made the right choice. I think the anesthesia effects, recovery from surgery, lack of calories, and hormonal differences do a number on your emotions. Can’t wait to feel more happy and healthy!

    Sept. Surgery @ Blossom

Just got home from my trip/surgery @ Blossom. Short flight for me. On the way home, I recommend taking your anti nausea pill 1 hour before you board and a pain pill 30 minutes before you board. That worked perfectly for me, I was quite comfortable on the way home. There is a Target a short Uber ride from the hotel. They have tons of varieties and flavors of protein drinks. Also a whole aisle of travel toiletries if you’d rather not pack those. If you feel a little rough directly after surgery when you get back to your hotel room, don’t despair...5-6 hours after your surgery a nurse comes to the hotel to give you an IV of fluids, anti nausea medication, and pain medication. It works wonders on your comfort level within an hour. Nice hotel with great staff but they only clean the room every 4 days....the trash cans are small and so people pile trash in the hall. Really a shame for such a nice place, but there’s no where to dump it yourself. Just request that they clean your room daily, and they will.

    Stomach pains

I had mine on July 13, and I also have some pain, even with tiny sips. That and lots of gas bubbles every time. I think it’s normal, but am hoping it doesn’t last too long.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

Had my sleeve on the 13th. It went well, every day I am feeling less sore and I only had nausea for two days. I’m feeling bummed about the post op liquid diet though, it’s hard to get in the correct amount of fluids and protein and I miss having regular meals already. And I’m tired and grumpy. Hoping things will be feeling more positive in time as I progress to soft foods and heal.
