  1. It does sound harmonal which is why 2 other doctors sent me to the endo. I also found 2 other posts when searching the web for the same problems I had. Those two posts from other lapband forums that had the exact problems only they never posted a resolution. I had a hystercomy in 1980 and I am not 62. All of my doctors swear it is due to the lapband. I was doing great since 2008 till last year when all my problems started and I hadn't changed anything. The endo did have me gain weight. I went from 132 to 150 and he said that was better for my health. I was getting plenty of Protein and doing what I was supposed to. They have checked all my harmones including my thryoid. They adjusted my thryoid medication a little but it hasn't helped my symptoms. Thank you for your comments.
  2. I had my lapband surgery in 2008. In Feb. 2014 I started having major blood sugar crashes, extreme exhaustion, the shakes, tons of night sweats and other symptoms. I went to my lapband doctor and they didn't think it was from my lapband. I have had tons of tests, CT Scans, Ultra Sounds and blood work. I went to a Gastroenterologist and had a colonoscopy and EGD. My endocrinologist swears it is all due to my lapband. He also said that I had diabetes even with the blood sugar crashes. Now I have gone from being hypoglycemic to high blood sugars. I had most of the Fluid removed from the band and I have going to a nutritionist and we were able to stop the crashes. It has been over a year and I am still no closer to finding out the cause. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

Great job! I have lost 89 pounds. I go up and down 5 pounds on a regular basis so I say 89 pounds. I would love to claim the other 5 but since it doesn't stay, I don't feel I should. For me the best part of the whole process has been the health benefits which is why I started my journey. I haven't taken meds for high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol. Two months ago my liver doctor finally said he doesn't need to see me. I used to go for 4 ultrasounds a year, monthly blood work and biopsies. It is so exciting. I have back problems and started working out with a trainer in Feb. Since working out with Patrick I lost 7 inches. That is so exciting to me. I am working on my jiggly parts. Even my tuck-n-roll is even shrinking and I didn't think that could happen. I hope you continue to do such good work with the unfill.

NSV Thread for the May Bandsters!

I had my blood work done and went to the liver doctor for the results. For the first time in 12 years my liver counts are normal:smile2:. I do not have to get scoped this year or need a biopsy. I also don't have to go back to see him for a year instead of every three months. Losing the weight has been a bonus, the health issues that have gone away has been my biggest successes. I went to Disneyland with my grandkids a couple of weeks ago and this time I didn't get stuck on the "Alice in Wonderland" ride. 18 months ago I was unable to get out of the ride car, it was so embarassing.

    I love my band

I love my band. I was a volume eater and it sure helped that. I got the band orginally because of my health. I have liver disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholestral. I had to make the decision to pull the plug on my Uncle who had the same illnesses I have and was only 63. I was 55 at the time and I have 4 grandchildren I want to see grow up. I no longer have diabetes or high blood pressure. I am taking 11 pills less a day since the lap band. That helps my liver counts, so my liver is getting better. Losing the weight has been the bonus. The lap band has helped me do what I couldn't do on my own. I don't even mind obeying the rules now because the benifits have been so great.

    Home Excercise Options

I love the Turbo Jam. I ended up buying all of them. I also bought a set for my daughter and my Grandson loves them. It is like dancing in a way and doesn't feel like exercise. I can really tell the difference in the shape of my body. I find myself doing 1 to 3 routines and end up exercising for about an hour and 20 minutes. I have also hating exercising so this has been a huge shock for me. I have had a treadmill for about 8 years and it just gathers dust. For me, I have to like it or I will just make excuses to not do it.
  11. I love Turbo Jam. I orginally just had the basic set and ended up getting all of them. I don't feel like I am exercising at all. I love them so much I bought them for my daughter also. My Grandson loves them more than my daughter and I do. I can really feel the difference in my body.

I also had to remove links on my watch. I need to take my bracelets in to get links removed because they now fall off. I am waiting on doing the bracelets and my rings till I am closer to my goal. The guys at work were giving me a bad time about my pants being baggy. So, I went to buy more. I thought I would just go from a 16 to a 14. I went down to a 12. I just can't seem to get it that I can go to smaller sizes. I have always tried to wear my clothes baggy because I was uncomfortable and I thought it helped hide my fat from everyone.
  13. I was told it would push the food through and you would get hungry faster. The dr. also that people who drink while eating are also more likely to gain weight back or not lose weight. If I drink when I eat, it just comes right up. I have only tried it a few times (when I go out to eat) and it has made me miserable. I did the band to get healthy more than losing weight. I no longer have diabetes or high blood pressure and don't want them back. So, I am following the rules.
  14. I had pain in my shoulder after my surgery. It lasted about 6 weeks. Someone on this site suggested lying with my arm raised over my head and also to use a heating pad. It helped a lot.
  15. Hi pattic..I saw on the forum you wrote that you use Turbo jam! How's that going for you?
