    Sexual activity

I didn't leave the sad face. But whoever did was probably just sad because the guy wasn't properly performing his husbandly duties.

    Greek yogurt

I recommend Dnnon 80 calorie greek yogurt. It's less tart than Chobani and fage. Lots of flavors. I personally like the lime and cherry.

    Scars 6 months out

Hi, my scars seem really dark for being 6 months after surgery. Can others chime in on shade of their scars? And if they've lightened quite a bit what they are using?
  4. Right there with ya. Was last thin in my 20's now 46 and constantly worrying if wrinkles are going to appear. Am I developing a turkey neck? Looking for sagging and feeling sad if I notice any. Hoping my skin springs back and it's just temporary.

    Scars 6 months out

Thanks guys. I've been using bio oil for the last 2 months. I just thought they should be lighter in color by now. Ordered some silicone tape. Maybe that will lighten them up some.

    Craving pickle juice

As you lose water weight you flush electrolytes from your body. Also due to the low consumption of food, sodium and potassium intake is way down. The electrolytes should be replaced or you'll start to feel sick. Broth is helpful in replacing electrolytes. You can also add lite salt which has potassium and sodium in it to your diet. Vitamins usually are pretty low in electrolytes due to the assumption you'll get enough sodium from your diet and the potential of possible overdosing on potassium. Drinking pickle juice is helpful. But the broth will add some protein in. Hopefully your multivitamin has the needed magnesium.

    Craving pickle juice

Your electrolytes are probably off. Are you drinking plenty of broth with sodium? Taking your vitamins?

    I confess....2018

I confess..... I've been very down and depressed today. "Borderline b***h" as I've been told. This past week I've been on vacation and wasn't adhering to my diet properly and ate actual desserts (not whole ones). I look at myself (face) in the mirror so much more. It's nice not to cringe at my own reflection. I still look like crap in photo's though. So I don't look as nice as I think. This hormonal crap sucks. My mood swings so much lately. I'm generally very middle of the road mood wise.

No weight loss, unable to eat more

Don't do anything different. Just hang in there. Stalls come and go. For many there is no escaping them. Just trust in the process and know that if you are eating under 1000 calories the weight is gonna come off.

    9 weeks Post Op Calories

600- 800 calories daily. Usually closer to the 800. Carbs tried to keep under 50 usually ended up at about 60 grams per day.

Busting it out at the Gym!

I have an appointment on the 30th and plan to bring it up. I just don't want them to over react and put a pacemaker in me or some such. I really think my body is just throwing a fit and tanking my metabolism any way it can.

Busting it out at the Gym!

Mine too. Sometimes falling into the 40's during sleep. It doesn't concern you? I'm thinking it's just affect of my body tanking my metabolism. But I'm still worried. And exercise doesn't increase it as much as it should.

Change in Amount I Can Eat

I'm at almost 4 months and have noticed this as well. At least weight loss seems to have picked up a bit. It does make it harder to get in all the protein though.

    Almost a month

Enlightened ice cream bar. About 80 calories, 7 grams of protein, and about 6 net carbs. They even have about 5 grams of fiber in them. They are a bit pricey.
  15. Why do you think that is? Any tips?

    Want to go rouge!

Never really cared for protein drinks. I'm 2.5 months out and I'm able to get my protein from my diet and rarely drink protein drinks now. Fairlife milk is high protein, lower carb, and tastes just like regular milk (maybe a bit better). I would mix protein powder with sugar free chocolate pudding and a splash of fairlife milk to up my protein. Another way with was using vanilla sugar free pudding, protein powder, 1/3 banana mashed, and a splash of fairlife milk, let that sit in the fridge after mixing for a bit for the banana flavor to absorb into the pudding. Both ways really helped me get my protein in during the early days. They also sell mixes of sugar free pudding you can make with fairlife milk.

    No Weight Loss--like at all

Sometimes the 3 week stall happens earlier. Especially if dieting before the surgery. The stall generally lasts 2-3 weeks. Hang in there the scale should start moving any day now. We all go through it. Yours is just occurring a bit earlier in the game.

    Tonight’s Dinner Picture.

My surgeon My surgeon said be careful about gulping and guzzling water as it can stretch the stomach. He said hot dog eating contest contestants use guzzling/gulping water to purposely stretch their stomachs so they can fit more in. He also said that people unconsciously try to make their stomachs like before surgery because they think that's the normal/healthy stomach. We need to be aware what we might be doing that can sabotage our weight loss.

    Help with dehydration

Right after surgery I was told to count all liquid in total fluid count. If you count your broth and yogurt drinks and all liquid intake how much liquid are you getting per day? Dehydration causes dark urine, vitamins cause bright neon urine.

    Constipation

She said I could take it in liquid form like Metamucil. If you like it in smoothies that would be okay too.

    Constipation

My nutritionist said I couldn't take psyllium capsules. She said due to the nature of the sleeve they could get caught outside the stomach and choke me or something like that. I did use psyllium when I did keto and they worked well though. Wish I could use them again. Anyways miralax will help keep things soft but not necessarily moving. Occasionally have to take a laxative to keep things moving.
  22. I eat out once a week. I will usually order the soup. I Especially like potato soups and will bring some real bacon bits to add in extra protein. You can also order off the side menu or order eggs. I always check out the menu online before I go to see if there is something I can eat. Eating out 3 times a week is likely why you need the surgery. Restaurant food is fattening. I would try to cut back on eating out and instead find something else to do that you enjoy with your wife. Live music (careful not to replace food with alcohol though), people watching. walks downtown or in a nice park, golfing, etc.
  23. By 2 months nearly everyone has hit a stall. They are really rough to go through but it will pass. Hang in there. You also might want to increase your protein a bit.

    Marijuana

Probably shouldn't smoke anything as it's likely to slow healing. It would probably be okay to vape it though. I stopped taking the narcotics after a couple of days and used Aleve as needed. Some don't recommend Aleve after surgery though.
  25. It may not be the sleeve. A lot of people get nauseous after anesthesia. I'd give it more time before getting worried.
