Would It Kill Me....

wow.. everyones directions ARE alot different. i'm from springfield, ma and my doctor's instructions are: one day of Water only, 7 days of Clear Liquids and Protein drinks, 7 days of one mushy item a day and Protein Drinks and then progressively move up to real foods. after seeing this, i would DEFINATELY call your doctors office. it doesn't hurt to ask. -
the good, the bad, the ugly

hellllooo... i've been banded for 5 days now.. and each day gets better. day 1 really isn't bad. you'll definately want some sugar free popsicles with you for your throat. day 2 is also just a lot of grogginess. you'll want to rest but make sure you are walking around AND getting protein in your body, via protein shakes. protein is what's going to help you heal. day 3 was the worst for me. i decided to stop taking pain meds because you don't want your body to get accustomed to them. i'm taking tylenol instead. by now, you want to be drinking your protein drinks in full swing, along with the soup and crystal light. just make sure your walking around.. it'll will get the gas pains moving around. i told my work i'd be going back 5 days later but that definately wasn't long enough. i extended it to 7. just make sure you KNOW you're ready. as far as the port, i really don't feel it yet. i'm still very swollen around my belly and cant get much down. but from what i've heard, even after you lose the weight, the port becomes unnoticeable. gooood luck with your surgery... hope i've answered a few questions for ya! -
i did this backwards.. oops!

thank you everyone for the well wishes! i'm really happy i have made this decision... despite the pain. haha. well.. i'm feeling a little better. walking definately helps. but i'm still very swollen and can't eat much. hopefully that will pass in a few days. how is everyone else doing? -
hey everyone! my name is emily, im nineteen and was banded 3 days ago. it's been painful, but i know that it will be worth it in the end. i've already lost 7lbs... only 110 to go! good luck to all of you!

heyy guys. i was also banded on april 3rd, and the gas pain is getting better. it was really bad the first two days but walking around and gas x has helped alot! even try taking deep breaths.. it hurts but it will move the gas pain around so its not just hovering around your belly. im having more trouble with trying to get anything down. it feels like EVERYTHING.. meds, shakes and soup.. gets stuck in my chest. its weird.. im going to call my dr. in the morning. hope your gas pain goes away soon!

hey guys.. it's my second day after getting banded, and im feeling great! ive lost 7lbs already and alot of the gas pain has subsided. but ive noticed that some of the incisions are oozing a little and theres a tiny bit of blood. has anyone else had this happen..?

Hey everyone! I was just banded last night.. already down 5lbs! Yay! Still pretty sore in the incision areas, but this gas pain is awful! I've tried going for walks up my road and gas-x but nothing is helping besides the pain meds... which im trying not to take. Anyone have any tips?
