My mom spent the night my first night home but I didn’t really need her. I had a pretty easy time of it though and friends close by.

June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!
Sharonc67 replied to gully90's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery is at 11:45 tomorrow. As long as my surgeon doesn’t cancel it. As of my pre-op appointment last Monday I had lost zero pounds on the first week of pre-op diet. Same on Friday so my nutritionist advised I cut carbs and add fiber. I get 3shakes, 1 Lean Cuisine and a cup of veggies. I did and this morning I was down two pounds. Probably will be OK but I’m a champion worrier. Trying to stay busy cleaning and prepping ice pops and jello to quell the anxiety. Good luck to all the 6/11’s tomorrow. -
June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

Hi all! I’m scheduled for VSG on June 11th. I was originally scheduled for 5/14 but pulled a chest muscle on the 8th day of my pre-op diet and has to re=schedule. Back on schedule and the pre-op. I guess I should be good at it but I’m hungry just 2 hours after my Lean Cuisine lunch. Sad. -
I had uterine cancer, so, not a lot of options.

Glad you are home. You should start feeling a lot better now. I had the same issue with my IV when I had my hysterectomy. I still remember the pain and swelling. i also get headaches from splenda and aspartame. I have my pre-op appt on Tuesday and I’ll ask my surgeon if I should pack some shakes and chicken soup powder to take to the hospital. Surgery, 5/14. It’s getting very real. Thanks for posting on your recovery, it really helps us pre-op folks.

Another May 14th checking in. I miss my dark chocolate but I have to admit that I’m really not that hungry anymore. I just wish I had more energy. Less than 900 calories a day is taking it’s toll.

I’m so glad that surgeries are going well. My thoughts are with those with surgeries today. The pre-op diet is getting easier but I’m getting more anxious as we get closer to the 14th.

I bought Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts. I’m 67 and had never had a Pop Tart in my life. I ate one and threw the rest out. I threw away a lot of food. It’s like I just needed a taste. Now I’m well into the 2 week pre-op diet and doing fine.

Sounds like you’re doing really well. I hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Congrats on going home!

I’m also scheduled for VSG on 5/14. I get butterflies in my stomach when I think of it. I’m starting my pre-op diet on Saturday because I have a bad habit of going off the rails on weekends. I’m craving a last cheeseburger and fries although I kind of did that 6 weeks ago.

Yay! Glad you’re doing well. It must be so nice to have the surgery behind you.

Thinking of all of you with surgeries today.

23 days until surgery and I’m scared! May 14th

Sorry for the confusion, my surgery date is May 14th. I’m getting “butterflies” whenever I think about it, still trying to focus on getting stuff done. Do you have to do a pre-surgery diet? I do 3 shakes and one Lean Cuisine a day for two weeks, but I’m starting on Saturday. It’s getting sooo real. -

My VSG is scheduled the same day as yours. I’m also anxious and excited but I’m trying to focus on all the reasons I want this so much. And getting things done so my home is clean and organized when I get home from the hospital. Your Uncle would want you to be strong and healthy. You’ll be so happy to be on the other side. You’ve got this.
