fargosk replied to pleasedontjudgeme's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
this is my breakfast every morning. I do the caramel with coffee, and if I'm feeling splurgy I will get 2 shots of espresso in a venti Iced cup from starbucks and throw in my caramel protein shake...so good! -
I use the ones I bought from Bariatricpal. I have sensitive skin as well. I put them on my stomach...for no particular reason than I can easily reach There is residue from the adhesive sometimes, but all in all doing great. I added the Biotin because I was losing SO MUCH HAIR. Got me back on track and now I have to keep up with my hair dye because its growing quickly!

Following here... I had surgery 11.7.17 and my hubby just had his 7.8.18...He's very interested in doing Keto, my eating plan is close but not as strict...it would be helpful if we were on the same plan...save so much $$ and double cooking!

It has happened!! I lost 100 lbs! 313 to 213! To celebrate, I got a new tattoo, not a Thanksgiving type meal I normally would have given myself as a reward. Such a great feeling, but now on those last 53 lbs.... I have my next goals, but what are my next rewards? What do you reward yourself with when you meet goals, weight or otherwise? Let me hear them, let me hear your latest accomplishments!
-
That's a good idea. I may do the same.
-
Thank you!
-
313 was my weight before preop diet. I was 289 at surgery on 11.8.17

What's your favorite food/workout tracking app? Something easy, something quick and maybe build recipes or combos of food? THANKS!

11 months post-op - Stalled since 7 months
fargosk replied to alexandrazk's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I so needed this! I was so pissed at first reading this but exactly what I needed...THANK YOU! -
I was sleeved on 11/8/17 and have lost 75lbs so far... 30lbs since 1.3.18....I exercise 5-6 times a week (mostly strength training) Eat 800-1100 calories a day, stay away from sugar of all kinds and carbs, I've gone from a tight 24 and 3x to a loose 16 and XL.... Am I losing at a normal rate? 30lbs in almost 4 months-which is better than anything else I have ever done, but should it be more? But mentally I feel like something happened...have I done enough? Should I be losing more weight? is 30lbs since 1.3.18 enough...ugh. This journey is definitely a physical AND MENTAL one....anyone else feeling this way? Or did? what did you do?
-
That's exactly what I did! Google, how much weight I should be losing after sleeve surgery...well apparently I "should" be at around 200lbs...Well crap, I'm 40lbs behind...but your right. My body, my food, my exercising, my mental state, are different from everyone else. As long as I'm losing and making healthy choices (and I feel AMAZING!!!) then I'm on the right track.

Thank you! I keep trying to tell myself that...If I'm losing then I'm good...just sometimes get in my own way with thinking positively..

Bio Oil seems to be helping my Turkey Neck

Have you used it anywhere else? My arms are sagging and my stomach as well... -
@doug548 Divorce is not really in our vocabulary but it was a little shocking. We celebrate our 10 years this May, he's stuck with me! Its so sweet you two have worked together to have a healthy lifestyle. I'm excited to be able to show our 3 boys what healthy eating and actions look like.

Hey there, Hubby was adamant before my surgery he was not interested, but he went in for a consult last week and is now working through insurance requirements! I am happy he wants to be healthy and it will be great working together. Watching him eat pasta and garlic bread is tough when I'm sipping on a protein shake or 3 oz of chicken breast! Has anyone gone through this process with your SO? Pros? Cons? I read somewhere that divorce rate for couples where one has gone through WLS is 85% but what if both??
-
Yes very excited about that! Our date nights will be super cheap! He's been very supportive and took good care of me while I was recovering. I'm happy I get to do the same.

I'm in the same boat. Chunks of hair coming out during the shower. I am taking all my vitamins (I struggled at first so I switched to vitamin patches) including biotin. I'm blessed to have originally had thick hair and I have gone through hair loss after I had each of my 3 kiddos. Yesterday I didn't seem to lose as much in the shower so here's hoping we are slowing down. I was sleeved on 11.8.17

The protein shakes were tasty before surgery but they make me gag now...although I just tried 2 shots of espresso over ice with the caramel shake...just like an iced caramel latte! Maybe my new breakfast?
-
I'm a Nov 8th sleever, hope you don't mind me jumping in... I feel great, but I'm at a stall, started working out with a personal trainer, but I don't think I'm eating enough, nothing tastes good, if I plan my meals, I just eat it but searching the fridge on the weekend is horrible and I end up eating nothing...do any of you have a daily meal journal that's allowing you to hit the 70-90g of protein?? I'm seriously bored with eating and prepping....

Celebrate 4 in 1 Supplements??
fargosk replied to fargosk's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks I just ordered a variety pack! -
Has anyone tried the Celebrate 4 in 1 shakes? Multi-Vitamin, Calcium, Fiber and Protein?? I have a hard time getting everything in, is this a good solution?
-
I had surgery on 11.8.17, down 44lbs total including pre-op diet. I have zero cravings, zero desire to eat. Never hungry and gag before eating but once its down my body feels good, my stomach feels satisfied...anyone else? Any suggestions?

LOVE The World According to EggFace! I'm on full Solids as of tomorrow! I'll see what else I can find on her site. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the input. Glad to hear I'm not alone! Trying different things can be pricey, especially when I can only eat such a small amount and don't like it. Any go to recipes for the first 6 months that made things enjoyable?
