Hey all. I was sleeved today 12/14 around 1230pm. In recovery I woke up with pain. I was there for what felt like forever and then I was woke, again, up by everyone say “stay with me, keep your eyes open, stay with me”. I had no Idea what was going on. I kept drifting in and out. I was (still am) so scared. Apparently I was given Narcan in order to “bring me back”. I still don’t fully know what happened. Now I am getting very little pain meds as a precaution so that sucks. But the pain is causing nausea and I keep throwing up dark blood. Not a little, but fountains of it. I’ve been given Zoltan, phen, and a blood thinner. Has anyone else gone through anything like this after surgery ? I can’t even sleep because I’m scared I won’t wake up. So I will drift off for 10 mins and then “jump” awake.

Sleeved 12/14 - Scary Complications ?

Yes ma’am, that’s essentially what happened. I found out the last day because the nurse who assisted getting me back to reality was also my discharge nurse. I guess I’m a wimp to the pains meds. [emoji4] -
Sleeved 12/14 - Scary Complications ?

Thank you all for the advice and concerns. It helps A LOT. I was released yesterday, 12/18. I was sent home with a prescription for morphine and a gazillion other maintenance meds. Walking is a breeze no matter how bad the pain because it’s something I can control lol. I’m having trouble tolerating the protein drinks, but I am getting enough fluids. So far my incisions are healing nicely. That right abdomen is the devil! Does anyone else have like a deformed pulled in look on that side ? I really didn’t let myself do much research on the surgery because I knew i would read horror stories and change my mind. I just went by everything my doctor told me to do pre op and what to expect post op. I love this app/group because nobody judges and feels comfortable sharing their experiences to help others. Thanks y’all! -

I’ve been meaning to update, stuff just keeps happening. I am still in the hospital [emoji853]. I’ve been having a lot of trouble sleeping with out choking/ o2 stats dropping, so the doctor kept me as a precaution. Here lately I have this horrible pulled muscle/burning sensation in my right abdomen- it sucks!! All of this sucks, I feel very defeated at the moment. I just want it all to get better so I can go home. -
Sleeved 12/14 - Scary Complications ?

Just a small update. I did speak with my doctor yesterday morning. He believes that in the process of trying to make me “comfortable” that the meds made me too relaxed so I quit breathing. Which is why the Narcan brought me back. Yesterday I woke up choking and gasping for air, they decided to take me off of dilaudid. Now I’m not choking or gasping for air . -

I’m definitely better with being able to breath and have some pain as opposed to no pain and no breathing. Thank you -

Thank you all for the advice. My doctor should be coming by this morning so hopefully I can get a better understanding and discharge plan which is something I never thought of. I really appreciate the feedback and comfort of y’alls words. -

Yes I finally am. I told the nurses and they just reassured me that I wouldn’t stop breathing again. But I’m still not ok with it -
I will gladly take boob donations as mine are 98.7% likely to go away as well.

Intro time: who's new to the group, who's pre-op, & who just recently made it to the loser's bench?

I’m new, currently hating the liquid diet, but trying to keep busy so I don’t think about solids. Surgery date is 12/14. I’m pretty nervous, but so ready to get it over with. -

I was having the problem of feeling like I’m drinking dessert all day. It was making nauseous. I decided to mix two flavors together. I mixed strawberry(liquid shake) and chocolate (powder mix- half serving of each) and they kind of cancel the sweetness out of each other. I know it doesn’t sound like it makes sense but it works for me lol -

Sweet thank you so much! I’m going to make that for lunch every day so I can get a break from the sweetness at work.

I actually bought some unflavored samples for after surgery because I know how I am lol. I guess I could try some now and just purchase a thing of it if I like it. Thanks for the advice! I hadn’t thought of that for pre op.

I’m new here... 12/14 surgery date. Super nervous and all of these shakes are making me nauseous. Any suggestions? Is there a chicken flavored shake out there so I don’t feel like I’m drinking dessert all day?
