7 days post op- major regrets

I felt the same way a week out from surgery but I promise, it does get better!! I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow and I am so happy with my decision to have this done. It is a new chance at life for me. The first 2 weeks after surgery I struggled drinking anything because it hurt.. people started noticing my weight loss and my change in attitude and that I was just becoming a happier person. I’m not very long into my new life but I am happy thus far. Stay positive.. I promise it does get better every single day! You got this! -
I was sleeved on 11/29 and am only down 26 lbs and when I was on week 3-4 it hurt me really bad to drink water too and my surgeon and nutritionist told me I needed to counteract the acid in my stomach with acid and it helped tremendously. They told me to try adding lemon or a lime to my water. Did it for a few days and I can eat and drink with no problem. If you are having a hard time reaching protein, try premier protein shakes and adding unflavored protein powder to yogurt or pudding or cottage cheese, anything you can tolerate. I just had my 6 week post op appointment and thought I was behind schedule with everything but my surgeon assures I was right on track with my journey because we’re all different, you might just be healing at a different rate. Stay positive and good luck on the rest of your journey!

Hi! I was sleeved on 11/29 (Wednesday) and the only pain I had was from the gas.. I’ve been hit by a car and the gas pains hurt worse than that! Lol. I got to go home Thursday morning once I was able to keep down 12 ounces of water. I was back to work on light duty on Monday. I work as a correctional officer in a high security prison. The first few days after surgery it took me about 1.5 hours to drink a full protein shake.. now it takes me 30 min. I’ve had to problem meeting my protein goals, even exceeding them and my liquids. At first I was regretting my decision because I was in so much pain but I am 29 lbs lighter and so much happier and I’m only 3 weeks post op. I can’t wait to be cleared for weight lifting and back to full duty at work! I miss throwing people around lol,

11/28/17 Sleevers-Where you at?!

I was sleeved on 11/29. I just went for my 2 week post op and have only lost 8 lbs.. I get my protein and liquids in each day. My surgeon told me anything less than the last time was good because everyone’s bodies are different. He went ahead and advanced me to soft foods since I’ve tolerated everything so well. The only pain I had after surgery was from the gas. My surgery was on a Wednesday and I was back to work on Monday.. I have a very busy job as a correctional officer and have had no problems meeting my steps, protein and liquid goals. -
Chocolate Premier Protein
lex2287 replied to lex2287's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m also drinking Protein2o but it only has 15 grams of protein.. I definitely have not been meeting my 64oz of fluids a day and it takes me hours to finish one protein shake. I’m just hoping since I’m so fresh from surgery it will get better. Miserable.. some days I ask myself “why did I do this?!” I know in the end my health will be better and I will live a longer and happier life -
I am 6 days post-op and I actually started to feel more like myself today, however, since I have been home I've had a really hard time with the chocolate Premier Protein shakes. I usually alternate so I'm not tired of one flavor but every single time I drink the chocolate one I have really sharp pains in the middle of my chest and then I will sometimes burp after. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain with the chocolate flavor? I am so sick of these Protein Shakes anyone have any other suggestions on a Protein they love? HELP!
