The nurses and techs you'll see during your pre-op on Feb 8 should answer all of your questions. The dietician told us to start a high protein low carb NO SUGAR liquid diet (they provided the diet and list of instructions) 7 days before surgery. Relax until the 8th and take everything you read with a grain of salt. I try to remember that this is an individual journey and that not everyone has the same results. I too am scared, but mainly excited. Good luck to you and don't forget to breath and enjoy the scenery along the way.

Thanks for the bump... this KY Woman is on the map. woo hoo...

Delarla...you worry me sometimes - what's with the head in the toilet? (lol) My big fear (maybe not too wierd) is being blinded while driving down the road. Considering that it snows here in KY this has almost happened to me on several occassions after making the mistake of trying to clean my windshield and having the Water freeze on the glass. Driving blind behind a semi truck on I65 is no fun...

Congratulations Emily, Best of luck to you with your new band!! I know you are thrilled. Sounds like you had two surgerys for the price of one. Good deal. Take care of yourself and keep us updated on your progress.

Only my DH will know for sure...not even my hairdresser will be told. If asked, like Kristi I'll say I've been eating less and exercising more. Life in a fishbowl is no fun. However, it's ultimately your choice so good luck whatever you decide. :cake:

:banana Woo Hoo !!! Hot diggity!! My insurance co (UHC) has finally sent the letter "...pleased to inform you that coverage is available..." Oh My Gosh!! I am thrilled beyond belief. I'm grinning from ear to ear. :biggrin1: I was so upset last Friday when my Drs office called to say my secondary insurance turned me down - they classified the LB procedure as investigational - but I"m not suprised because the company my husband works for is self-insured. They don't pay doodly. But mine said YES...YES...YES...YES... Now I just have to follow up with my Drs office to schedule everything. Maybe if I'm lucky (and I have been so far) I'll be set to go in a few weeks. What a load off my mind this is. Thanks for listening.... I just had to share. I've been reading these boards now for several months praying that my turn would come. And it has. My time has come, life is good.

Wow. I've always admired talented people. Keep up the posts, we can totally relate! -
I'm 5.2 with a goal weight of 135... but I'll be satisified if I can see 150 again - I think that's more realistic for me.

Good luck on your journey. I have also been a lurker and have been viewing the boards for several weeks. My insurance was initially filed on 12/19, but I guess the holidays caused a back log because they had to refile on 01/05... two weeks lost - gurrrrr! Oh well... what can you do. I hope we can both be happy banders soon.
