Down 150 since the journey started and 90 since surgery on 11/6/17. Getting ready to go to my 6 month follow up and feeling good. Currently 270 and I’m trying to figure out where to maintain at I’m 6’1 and have big boned. I know the doctors are saying 180-205 but I have not been 205 since I was 14 35 years ago I might look anorexic. I went to the gym and they did one of those test to tell how much muscle you have and it said I’m at 200 pounds of muscle. Any one have any advice on a good weight to stop, currently went from 6x shirts and 54’ pants to 2x and 42’.

I hav kinda hit a plateau I think I’m losing a little at a time I’m down to 255 atm and I’m 6 foot. I feel good so if I lose another 15-20 over them next 6 months I’m good with that. I have increased my calories to 1600-1800 a day now. My insurance will cover the skin removal but I don’t think I meet the requirements apparently one of the requirements is the skin hangs to your thighs and I’m not there.

I had some progress keeping with everything I been doing I am now down to 257.9 and I have my consultation with a plastic surgeon for the skin and stuff. I have begun getting rashes from the skin rubbing. I prob won’t get the skin removal till oct November that will be about a year. I want to lose about 20 more and then with the skin remova should put me about 230 ish.

Ya I’m down to 265 right now and according to surgeon am prob carrying 10 to 15 pounds of skin so in reality I’m about 250 ish so I’m thinking 15 more pounds of loss and I’ll be good. Best thing is I feel great now and should only get better so I really could live with where I’m at now and be fine.

So it’s been a week and I lost 2.5 pounds on the current diet and exercise it’s about what I figured Fitbit’s calorie burned number is way higher than what I am probably losing. It says I avg 3400-4000 a day I think it’s closer to 2500-2800 because if u do the math I’m avg about 1500 calories a day with 90-100g of protein I don’t get the water in that I need to. But if I lose 2500 ish a day and eat 1500 it’s Aprox losing about 1000-1200 calories a day which comes out to about 2-2.5 pounds. I am about to start some strength training this far I have only put in time walking about 7-10k steps a day. Fitbit with MyFitnessPal has been very helpful.

Ya seems slow going right now I’m using Fitbit and. Other apps with a Fitbit scale. I figure I have about 35 pounds to go and just started using the Fitbit scale we’ll see how it goes on Monday when I weigh in. Supposedly I’m losing 1000 calories a day so should be 2 pounds week we’ll see

Ya i am hoping that im not at a plateau yet but i could be, i feel great best i have felt in 30 years im 6 months out from surgery so i figured 1500 was a good goal and if i burn 2500 in the day i technically should lose 1000 calories a day which is suppose to mean at the end of the week i have lost 7000 calories and that is equal to 2 pounds. It seems that something is not working out right. I dont think the fitbit calories burned is accurate but i had a test done recently that said i burn 2000 a day at rest, so with the walking 7k steps a day that should be good for at least another 500. im not sure whats going on but im gonna try it for another week and see. Some days the fitbit tells me i burn 3800 calories and all im doing is walking and doing stuff around the house so that seems high. I may have to cut out alot of carbs and see how that goes im currently eating about 90-100g of protein, and about 130-175 carbs a day.

So I am s little discouraged this week I gained 1.2 pounds and I was e en drinking more water I ate 1200-1500 calories a day and using Fitbit it says I burned 26000 calories this week so in reality I should have lost 2-3 pounds. I know Fitbit is not always accurate but I have walked 7-10k steps s day and should be burning 3000 plus calories a day so it’s weird. Something else that’s weird is the Fitbit scale shows me 1.2 pounds higher but body fat percentage went from 30.7 to 30.5.... any ideas

Weight does seem to fluctuate do to retaining water or maybe not being regular that are 2 things I have noticed when I should lose weight and don’t. It will also depend on how much u have to lose and how long it’s been since surgery. 1 pound a day is pretty decent weight loss, only time I lost that much was first 3 weeks after surgery atm I’m fluctuating between 2-4 pounds a week, that’s with just walking. I recently got a Fitbit and started using MyFitnessPal since they sync nicely. I’m sure it’s not entirely accurate but from what I’m seeing is I intake 1200-1500 calories a day and lose aprox 3400 calories a day. I try and stay away from junk food and if I eat chips or anything it’s like 4-6 at a time. I prob have about 25 more pounds to lose so it’s slowing some

Ya walking was a issue for me before surgery, I have degenerative disc disease so I could only walk about 50 yards before the pain took over that was when I was 420 now at 270 I can walk and very rarely have pain. So it will get easier as you lose more weight.

I usually walk about 3 Miles at night when working, I am about to start some weight training since I have more energy now. I think 250 May be a good weight to shoot for. One of my DRs told me for some one losing 100 plus pounds you can expect to have about 10-15 pounds of skin. A few weeks ago I pretty much ate any type of food not a lot but just fast food and not real healthy food. And for 2 weeks I lost nothing so I went back to 2 good meals a day and some fruit and Snacks and lost 11 pounds over the last 3 weeks. Now my meals are generally the same I eat chicken 6 days a week and beef tenderloin on Sundays. I eat 6 ounces of meat and 1/2 cup of potatoes or rice, and a 1/2 cup of peas or cream corn. Unfortunately peas and corn are the only veggies I have ever liked so I’m limited there. Also went to smart balance light for butter and stopped seasoning with salt.

I got rny I tried to eat multiple small meals but it has been hard to get them in. I think my stomach has expanded some, no where like it used to be but I can still eat 10-12 punches of food at one sitting. So I am trying to make sure my calorie count is good. And stay away from junk food. There was a 2 week period where I had no weight loss I’m pretty sure it’s cause I stopped watching calories like the amount butter or condiments or fried food and I think I was way over in calories even tho I didn’t eat a lot. So I now know what to eat when I want to maintain the weight but I still want to lose about 40-50 more pounds.

So I’m 6 months post op and have lost 70 since surgery and 132 since the start of program. My question is how much food are ppl eating 6 months out I try to manage 2 good meals a day and maybe a snack trying to keep my calories under 1600 a day. Are you suppose to measure out why you eat my weight or calories. A typical meal for me is amour 6 oz of boneless chicken breast seasoned and cooked with a little water. 1/2-3/4 of white rice and like a half cup of peas, corn or carrots. But I did notice if I put all that on a scale it weighs about 12 oz.

We’ll journey started over a year ago with all the hoops for the insurance company and then the actually weight loss center. Starting weight in Aug 2016 420 pounds Had surgery Nov 6th 2017 358 pounds 3 weeks after surgery I am 340 pounds So 18 pounds in 3 weeks and 80 pounds since process started. I find it really hard to get all the fluid in I’m suppose to be around 64 oz a day but I’m lucky if I can drink 30 oz. and eating it hard some times I’m now on the soft foods for the next few weeks and struggling to eat as many times a day as suppose to. A question I have is by not getting all the fluids and prob not all the protein I need am I hurting my weight loss or not ? Any way trying to get to at least 250 have not weight that in 32 years.
