Look into the SIPS procedure. I too was on the fence but my surgeon was studying SIPS and it’s been amazing so far. All the plusses with very few minuses. No dumping, GERD, cured my dt2 and has longer successes than VSG A majority of them are being done in Utah,NJ and at Duke. You can find some surgeons that are doing them around the country. Many have been doing it as a revision but I had mine done all as one

I found the Carmel flavored one at Costco and it was disgusting. Word to the wise

I had sips 12/11and I am so pleased with the outcomes so far. Is everyone loving it or are there issues. Sometimes I wish my stomach pouch was smaller. I feel like I can eat bigger portions than I should do I have to really be self aware of what I’m eating

I had it on 12/11 and my diabetes is gone and I’ve dropped 45# so far. BP is 120/58 and I can eat most foods. Heavy carbs makes me feel like crap. But I eat mist what I want just smaller portions and a lot of protein shakes. Good luck!

Consider the SIPS procedure. All the pluses of both surgeries with almost none of the negatives

Yes non alcoholic fatty liver. My enzymes had been slightly elevated but it didn’t raise a flag. I went in for the surgery in Jan 2017 and my liver was too enlarged to do the surgery. Got clearance from a liver doc that it was fatty liver and nothing else. Had to lose 30# to try again very pleased so far. Lost a total of 70# since last Jan. 40# since surgery. My diabetes is gone and I was a pump user. Also bp was 120/58. I had my 6 week check up yesterday. Hope this helps! So glad I did this. All the positives of the sleeve and bypass without the bad from them. Good luck!

Checking in to see how you both are doing. I had my surgery 12/11 and doing surprisingly well. Honestly feel pretty normal 2-1/2 weeks out. Im losing about a pound a day and I’m off insulin and all my diabetic drugs update me please!

I had the SIPS procedure on 12/11 and I’m losing a pound a day since surgery and am no longer on my insulin pump for diabetes!!! total weight loss = 53lbs

I went in for surgery in Jan and he ended up just doing a liver biopsy as my liver was enlarged, diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver. Surgeon required me to lose 30lbs prior to trying again. I ate 1200 calories a day and limited my carbs to less than 100. Lots of salads soups and tacos. Lost most in 6 weeks and had my surgery. Lost more the week before surgery on the pre-op diet. Youve got this. I was pissed for a while but got over and got it done! good luck!

I am having SIPS on Monday the 11th. Also thru NW but out at Central Dupage with Vallina. There are a few SIPS after sleeve in the DS Forum. Thats where I posted first. Trying not to read too much on the internet to freak myself out over this. I tried to do it in Jan but he had to stop due to a fatty liver.... Keep me updated how you're doing.

Surgery date 12/11/17. Anyone else out there going with SIPS?

I was scheduled last January for SIPS, surgeon got in there and had to pull out due to enlarged liver. I had to lose 30+# before he would consider trying it again. I checked in with a liver specialist and was diagnosed with non alcoholic fatty liver. I am hoping for a go Monday. This pre-op diet is rough this time around. Contrive and probiotics have been my friend... Thanks for all the well wishes.

Seattle- you’re 3 months out how are you doing? Any words of wisdom? i literally found out Thursday that I’m going in next Monday and it’s crunch time!!!
