  1. Hello, I am new to the site and wanted to say hi. I have not been banded, but I am working hard to get it done in the next three months. I enjoy reading comments from others that had the procedure. I look forward to posting good news in the weeks to come.
  2. Hello, I was wondering if anyone used Dr. Ross at Spartanburg Regional in South Carolina? Thank you for the help.
  3. Hello Everyone..I just wanted to see how everyone is doing. I go on Monday for my Third fill and can't wait. The doctor is going to give me 2ml this time. My weight loss is staying around 2 pounds per week. I have reached my second mini goal this week as well. Things are going great! Let me know how you all are doing. If you have any questions on my Doctor, the surgery, or anything related, just send me an email. Have a blessed weekend. 5. I am having a problem with my fills as well. My doctor only gives 1cc at a time. This is done at special procedures at the main hospital. The cost of my fill was $1650.00..I fill NO more restriction than when I had the surgery. I now have 3 cc's is a 14cc band. So, I am getting a little upset with the fill process. I may have to find someone other than my doctor to do the fills. Does anyone have any good suggestions on fill doctors. My weight loss is about 1lb a week. I am down 46lbs, since July 15, 2008. I guess it is going to slow down now..but I will NOT give up!! Have a blessed night, Randall

    2008 National Lap-Band Conference

Alex, What is the fee for the conference. The room rates are great! I look forward to seeing you in Dallas. Randall P, Charleston, SC
  7. Hello Everyone..I hope that everyone is doing well. I am doing great! I had my first adjustment on Monday and was scared to death. The needle looked to be 5" long..I almost got up and left, but I didn't. It didn't hurt that much, and the benefits outweigh the little discomfort I did feel. So, I am on my way to the second half of my weight loss. I am down 41 pounds and have about 40-45 to go. Please update the site and let us know how you all are doing. I will keep you in my prayers, please do the same for me. Have a safe and fun holiday, Randall P.

  9. Hey Friends...It's been going well. I have started working out three days a week with a personal trainer, and how good it feels! I want to tell you the best thing that has happend, so far. I went to the doctor today, and they checked my blood pressure, and was amazed! Prior to the surgery and weight loss, my pressure ran 190/110 with three pills a day. Today, it was 140/80. I was told to stop taking one of my meds. This is great news for me. This is what I had the surgery for, not to look good, but to be healthy and get off all of the medications. Well, I weighed in and have lost a total of 29.3 lbs. I am under 220; and have about 50 more lbs to go. My personal goal is to be at my ideal weight on or before New Years day! Have a great weekend. I will repost when they give me a fill or in about a month. Randall:thumbup:
  10. Thank you for saying that:-) You keep on until you have your surgery done. You will be posting great things sooner than you think. God bless you, Randall
  11. Dear Lapband Friends in SC, here is my first update post surgery. Things are going very well. I had some swelling that caused a little problem swallowing, but that went down on Sunday, and things are getting better daily. I went to the doctor today to have my stitches removed, and for my post op class. The doctor was very happy with everything. I have lost 16lbs in 13 days, of course most of that is from being on liquids for the past two weeks, but it will come off quickly this month, and I want to take advantage of these few weeks of rapid loss. I start working out at the Cardio Rehab Center at the hospital next week. Cuurently I am walking about 20 minutes a day, on my street, and that makes me feel much better. Prior to the surgery, I didn't care about doing anything, but eat and take a shower. I guess the most difficult thing for me for so far, is giving up the soft drinks. Before the surgery I would consume about 8 cans of Pepsi a day, and never water, now that has reversed. I have more energy, and just wake up each day, with a new look on life. I no longer think about how I can kill time, to make the day pass, I wake up and look forward to walking, making my little drinks, and finding ways to use this new energy, in a good way. No longer is this a wish, or a dream…it’s reality and I am transforming to a better me each new day. I wish each of you the best, and I will keep you in my prayers. Please do the same for me. With warm regards; I am yours, Randall Price
  12. Dear Friends, I posted this question a few months ago to see if anyone had used Dr. Ross and the staff at Spartanburg Regional Hospital System. I never received any replies, so I chose Dr. Ross and his team. I am so glade that I did; he has the best bedside manner of any physician that I have ever dealt with. In my short life, I have seen many. You can tell that he truly enjoys what he does; he is not someone that is just getting paid and goes home. His staff are always polite and on top of things. I allowed him to complete my Lapband surgery on 07/15/2008, and will start my follow up visits starting next week. If you are looking for someone that will treat you with respect, and dignity, no matter what your circumstances, then you don't need to look any further than Dr. Paul Ross. If you would like to reach Dr. Ross, call his office at 864-560-7070. If you have any questions about my experience so far, just send me an email, and I will be more than happy to respond. God bless you, Randall Logan Price:thumbup: Banded by Dr. Paul Ross at SRHS on 07/15/2008. 1st Post Op visit is 07/23/2008.
  13. Hello, it’s finished...and I am home from the hospital. (07/16/08) Things went very well. I did have to get one larger incision, that is not typical, but it's not too bad. (You can look at my post surgery photo I posted if you care to look at my incisions. I am very sore from the air used to extend your stomach during surgery. The only way that I can explain the pain is that it feels like I have done a couple hundred sit ups. I will post again next week after my post-op visit. Good luck to everyone. If you are waiting for the surgery..It’s worth the wait...I will continue to keep you all in my prayers, please do the same for me. God bless all my "bandster" buddies.. Randall
  14. Hello, I am fine, and I hope that you are. I have three more days before my surgery..This liquid diet takes the weight off, I am down 12lbs in a week, just drinking the unjury shakes. Does anyone have any other whey Protein shakes you are using? This one has 25G of Whey Protein Isolate, and it taste very good...let me know if your using something similar, these are a little high in price. Have a great weekend everyone. Randall Surgery Date: 07/15/08
  15. Hello, I have started my liquid diet and have a nine days to go. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I figured I would stay hungry, but this Speacial K Water does the trick..thanks to whom ever told me about the water:-) Everyone Have a Safe and Blessed 4th of July weekend. Randall

    Surgery Date 062708

Just like any website that is open to the public, you are going to have people, with to much free time, that come into instant chat rooms and say things to make others mad or upset. You have to take what you hear inside all chat rooms, with a grain of salt. Don't assume that everyone in the room is "real". Look them up, and check the public profile, if they don't have one..they are most likely not true "bandsters"...Keep Smiling, it's going to be ok:teeth_smile:

    New beginning

I am very happy for you. I have my surgery scheduled for July 14, 08. Don't get frustrated when you go into the initial class and they give you a huge list of things required. This will take you no time to complete. I am not sure how long your insurance will require you to be on a supervised diet, but the doctor will most likely require at least six weeks. It will go back super fast. Keep us posted on how things are going. Welcome to the forum, bandster buddy!
