Yes, I am happy you posted, too! I read that your goal for now is just to be under 200 as is mine. My precious doggie that I adored for almost 16.5 years had to be put to sleep on April 3rd, and I swear, it is since then that I’ve barely lost. I miss him so much, but I was so happy that I never once resorted to my old coping mechanism - bingeing on sweets. Keep in touch if you’d like. Let me know how you do with your Disney goal! Hi there! I was so relieved to read this. I have been around the same weight for 3 months it seems. In June, I started weight training, but the scale is barely moving. I am still in no carbs (other than whatever carbs are in fruits/veggies) so I thought I would’ve lost a lot more than 52 pounds by now. Very frustrating.

I hope it gets better for both of us!

What are you experiencing? I am 47. I am used to perimenopausal symptoms. But, in the 8 weeks, I’ve had my period twice. Getting horribly irritated at the littlest things and in a bad way. I feel like I can’t control it. My poor family...

Thank you. I’m 47. I thought peri-menopause was bad. I’m getting my period now (was irregular before). The irritability is awful, though, as it affects my 6 year old & I feel like I can’t control it. Ugh! Hope it ends soon.

I had sleeve on 12/5. I am feeling totally irritable lately-getting spastic over the smalkest things and I don’t like it!!!! Help! Let’s be buddies.

Is anyone having major mood swings 8 weeks out?

For anyone who needs to know what 9 days out (Sleeve 12/5) looks like: the main incision pain is gone-now it is just itchy as it heals. The “glue” is starting to peel a bit. Drinking without getting immediately “full” or whatever the sensation was in the beginning is much better. I started to notice some hormonal raging on Day 7–irritable, impatient, weepy; etc. Missing real food, (and COFFEEEEE!), of course, but knew what I signed up for and Stage 2 is just a week away.

Hi there! How are you doing 3 days out? I pray all went well. I was VERY sore or gas pains or whatever it was the day of my surgery and Day 2. Day 3, 4 my only issues were the main incision pain and getting used to the feeling of drinking-the gurgling and sometimes REALLY feeling it going down. I’ve only taken 2 Tylenol a day since coming home-didn’t want to take the Rx pain meds and be a loopy mess in front of my 6 year old or deal with constipation pains that the nurse said would be “worse than the surgical pain”. Today starts Day 5..hoping to feel even less incision pain. I hope you are well!

It is probably a combination. I also use a FitBit and make sure I get up for a walk at least hourly at work. My Mom, who also had a hysterectomy and works a desk job, does the same. She also goes up and down a couple of flights of stairs in the office when she takes her walks. You are beautiful! Good Luck!

Hi! I had mine done 12/5. It was not pleasant at all the first two days. Post-op Day 5 the main incision hurts less and less. I pray you are feeling better.

I am Day 4 post op and the largest incision pain is my biggest complaint. My surgeon said that incision has stitches in the muscle so it will hurt more. I hope it goes away before I go back to work! Good luck to all!

Mary, Thanks for the info on the sweats and chills. I was Dec. 5th, too, and have felt the same during the night. Do you have incision pain (the largest one) when standing up and gurgling in the new tummy after drinking your liquids?

I am 4 days out. Same here. I drink the protein because I have to. Water is hard. I get lots of gurgling in my new tummy. You? How is the main incision pain?

Hi krys1386! Third post op day done and only issues are the incision pain and frequent gurgling in the new tummy after you drink. Unfortunately, I had to go get my monthly “friend” yesterday, so cramping from that isn’t helping. Lol! 2 more days for you! Good Luck! Keep in touch!

Hi! Good Luck to all. I had gastric sleeve surgery done on 12/5. I am wondering if anyone else has pain in the largest incision?

I had sleeve surgery the 5th too. How are you all doing?

Recovery is ok—much better Day 2. Only pain is in largest incision as surgeon said there are stitches in the muscle below that incision. I’m not taking the Vicodin, though, just 2 Tylenol per day. Feeling a bit anxious about the unknowns in the future-emotional changes, how I will react to real food; etc.

Thank you for the encouragement! Wow! Congrats to your sisters! Amazing inspiration. So sorry you had to live on shakes for so long. I will be doing that the next two weeks for sure. I can’t believe I’m doing it his tomorrow morning. If I can, I’ll let you know how it went. Good Luck to you!!!!

Hi Tasg, I was not put on a liquid diet for my upcoming 12/5 surgery. There was a Pre-op diet but it was balanced meals. Good Luck to you! I can’t wait until it is over!!!! Patricia

Hi there! This is my first time here, and I was happy to find your post as my surgery is scheduled for 12/5 at 7:30 a.m. My hubby is also retired after 22 years as a PO in Yonkers, NY. When I read that you were in FL, I was hoping South FL, but I just saw that you are in Cape Coral. How do you like it? I am in Boca Raton, on the east coast. I’d love to keep in touch. I just turned 47, am a proud Mom to a 6 year old daughter (and my 16 year old doggie) and work as a School Counselor. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life and am tired of being a yo-yo. I lose and re-gain constantly. I’m so over it. I was so blessed to have my daughter at 41 and want to do everything in my control to be on this Earth as long as possible for her. My Mom had the surgery 15 months ago and has never felt better. My good friend had it a little over two years ago and says it is the best thing she’s ever done for herself. I’m here for support anytime, Patricia
