Buddies Group - Surgery Dec 4 to 15, 2017
LaLaLee replied to Mary Stokley Gromer's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m just starting post op phase 2 in the next few days. I’m so excited for an egg! Haha. Sleeved 12/19/17. I’m going to an all day conference in a week. I have no idea what will be served for lunch but it’s just pretty much going to be one choice. So, I know I most likely just need to bring my own food. What travels well that I could easily carry around with me and eat for lunch but still feel part of eating lunch with the group? SW 272 sleeve 12/19/17 CW 243.4 Pounds lost 28.6 -

I agree with a previous poster... they have fear of what is constant and content within your family. They may even be a little jealous that you have the courage to do something drastic about it. Will you just leave them behind? kinda mentality. I think you just move forward and not concentrate on them as much right now. For you and for them. The more you talk about it to them the more uncomfortable you make them. Now one of them is going to be the heaviest. This could be a great thing for them in the end and they join you!!! Christmas is behind you as far as food goes so that makes it easier. You people that did it though those 2 days are rockstars!!!! I felt like my 14 day liquid diet was much easier. I started on dec 5. It was a different mindset. 14 days so there is an end. I’m having surgery so I NEED to do this. I didn’t have to deal with portion control or if I should count that cookie as points. It was just a black and white yes or no of what I could eat. It actually went fast for me! Good luck.

Mine was outpatient as well but then the start of my surgery ran 2 hours late so they ended up keeping me overnight. I really didn’t need it but I think after a certain time of day they just keep you rather than trying to do all the paperwork to get you out on the night shift.

I just finally decided to tell everyone about my 12/19 sleeve. I was stressed about getting through the holidays anyway and then on top of that, keeping people in the dark and how do I hide it and all that goes with that. I called on the phone and told a few key family members. I asked them to spread the word. The 2 people I told were surprisingly excited for me and thought I was a rockstar for doing it now! My main reason for not wanting to tell anyone in the first place was I didn’t want to call any kind attention to myself especially my weight. Then I thought if I don’t tell people they are going to eventually figure it out which means they are going to talk about me/my weight more. So, I figured I would just tell people now and be done. Just work on my protein and water. Good luck!!!!

I wash with Soap and water and not covered. I’m 5 days post op and they are doing really well. I haven’t put a bra on yet cuz of the location of one of the incisions! I’ve been a tank top kinda gal. Yikes! -

What do people do with PB2? Is it something you mix with a protein shake? -

I believe the protein is what causes the constipation so maybe concentrate more on protein for a day. -

I had my sleeve on the 19th. I’ve been drinking premier protein and water and protien2 infused water. Any other ideas? -

I’m December 19th too! How’s you’re pre-op diet going?

I’m December 19th too! How are you all doing with the pre-op diet? I feel a little overwhelmed with it. There seems to be so many tricks and substitutes that I get a little overwhelmed. It’s almost like I just want someone to just tell me what to do. Haha. It’s hard to figure it all out.
