Hi,I'm in a similar situtation. Had surgery end of Nov,had lost bout 20lbs in pre-op and in the 2/3wks after surgery. Went for my 1st fill on 10th Jan and hadnt lost v.much. Still wasnt feeling v.much restriction, went bk of 14th Feb for 2nd fill, they put in 1.5ml so was at 4.5 now. That nite cudnt keep down a thing. Not even my own saliva, vomiting every 5mins or so. Rang clinic 1st thing went up in the afternoon but they cudnt find my port site, had to go bk up that nite where a diff nurse was able to take out what they had put in. To b honest at that point I didnt care what they took out as long as it stopped the vomiting! I was really thinking had I made a huge mistake having this surgery. They wudnt let me have another fill for 6wks as my stomach was so inflammed and the nerve at the top cant remember the name all had to settle down again. Got technically my proper 2nd fill last Sunday, they just put in .9mls,they want to be more cautious going forward. I have some friends who were banded similar times to me and the lbs are dropping off for them. They just dont seem to be shifting for me at all. I do find some of my clothes are looser but thats bout it. I totally get how u feel disheartened,I feel like that too. I do feel restriction at the min but its weird its like my 1st few bites get stuck and I generally have to bring it bk up to clear it,then after that I can eat. Its like I have to 'wake' up the muscles in my tum and around my band. I'm trying to stay positive and hoping that things will start shifting soon. Please dont feel too down,I know this tool will start working for us both. Keep in touch with how you are getting on. Sent from my SM-G920F using BariatricPal mobile app

Wow thats brilliant over 10stone! Or am so happy to hear of the good stories here, was really begining to worry had I made the wrong decision. My start weight was 350lb so I'm really looking forward to my 1st fill and seeing how much or little(hopefully the 1st) I am down since my 1st appointment with them. It would b great to keep in touch with people who are starting this journey and also the people who have had their bands for a few years so we can ask their advice etc. [emoji4] Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I found that part really hard,we would have always sat and had dins together but I have been avoiding that as much as possible for the time being. I find when I eat alone I am thinking bout what I am having, consentrating on chewing, small bites etc but when I eat in company I get distracted and generally end up with a piece stuck and have to go and get sick. I just keep thinking that over the nxt month or two once I get into it I will be able to return to the table! Lol Sent from my SM-G920F using BariatricPal mobile app

Yeh its v.uncomfortable when something gets stuck I thought I was dying the 1st time at least now I know how to deal with it and not to panic. How much are you down since your surgery? I seemed like I was 18lb but today its only 8 so am a bit cheesed off but it is the time of the month so we'll see on Wed for the adjustment. Thats what I'm thinking, after the adjustment is when the hard work will begin. Sure you have a treat, some chocolate now and then is allowed. Sent from my SM-G920F using BariatricPal mobile app

Hi there, am in Ireland. Had my band surgery on 25th Nov and am having my 1st adjustment on 10thJan. Its gone ok so far not too many issues, had been sick a few times due to eating too quickly or too big a bite but am sure this is all part of the learning curve. Hows it been for you? Hi, am a newbie, banded on Nov 25th 17 Having my 1st fill on Jan 10th. No major issues so far, have had a few problems taking medication I also have Fibromyalgia and Rheumatoid arthritis and the tablets getting stuck so have been sick or really just loads of foamy spit coming bk up. I live in Ireland and had to pay for this surgery privately and even though I had looked into the surgery I didn't realise how many people are against lapbands. Its kind of worrying as I'm thinking have I made a huge mistake. The lapband was all that I could have done here,I would have had to travel elsewere to have the sleeve or bypass. I hope some of you have had sucess stories with the band. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
