depending on how far everyone is... I'm in Davidson county but I dont mind driving to another county either. -
I am 9 months post op.. so far so good... lost a lot of weight so far and I feel great... still working on seeing my surgeon for the follow up so he can evaluate my first set of blood work tests. My primary gave me an iron prescription plus told me to take added vitamin A. Anyway, I eat what I want , and definitely in small amounts. The only exercise I get is walking but I really need to start weight training to build up some muscle for my slightly flabby skin. Its not really bad but bad enough to where I would like tone up before thinking of surgery . My surgeon said don't do surgery until 18 months after weight loss surgery... Which means I still have another 9 months to go IF I decide to go that route. Anyone have any good toning exercises with weights that I can do for my arms and legs ? Also any good butt exercises out there? Id like to tone it up a little too. Ive googled a few things but nothing really shows me from a weight loss patient perspective on what good exercises to do for toning up flabby bodies. They really need something like that on the web! A go to list for weight loss patients! I hope I didn't wait too long to start? Thats what I am afraid of. These past 9 months have just been busy and the weight has been coming off all on its on so I haven't started a major exercise routine although I am always active in walking. Lots of walking. Also I live in North Carolina... I thought about starting up a support group and meeting once a week or twice a month. Anyone interested? I live in central Carolina. I would really even like to attend a support group if there are any out there on this side of the town ? Please any thoughts or suggests for me?

ughh i always have to watch myself with that... its a constant struggle... i mean 30 minutes is very slow to eat such a small meal. I do it though because If I eat too fast then I vomit it back up and then I don't want to eat at all. And to note I am 9 months post op!

Hello! I am 8 months out after my duodenal switch operation, I feel great! but now its time for a colonoscopy I am 51 years old so it's time. Ughhhh anyone have one after operation? If so any concerns? I am little nervous because I don't want them messing anything up concerning this operation. They say they wont know what kind of scar tissue i will have but they will see all that once they do the procedure. The prep will be hard since its hard to take down large amounts of liquids ... but the doctor told me to just take my time and start it earlier that day before . Again Im really nervous, I am just afraid of something getting messed up while they are in there.

colonoscopy after duodenal switch
Glamgirl replied to Glamgirl's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
oh wow... i am doing it the day before which is today. I did not start early... yesterday I ate a couple bites of pizza but that's it lol .. i just took 2 pills and now I'm drinking the mix and gatorade I sure hope that works for me? I don't eat much anyway so maybe its not much to clean out? Anyway... I heard the ducolax pills are not good for kidneys too 😕 but one time taking them for this should not be bad , should it? Now Im kinda worried, I hope i am cleaned out enough since I did not start early. 😕 -

Thanks! thats what I was worried about ... them being close tot that area... so you have not had your surgery yet? I heard it's better getting the colonoscopy before weight loss surgery. -

2 weeks post op and everything tastes differently
Glamgirl replied to Martha88's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yep it changes but I agree everyone i different. It happens in the beginning for sure... then after 5-8 months you get to eat better and try new things . I have few things i don't care for anymore but its not too much different. I just can't eat certain things because they fill me up too quickly so I stick with more digestible foods. -

Hey y'all, just wondering what everyone takes as in vitamins after DS. I am 6 months post op I am on 3 multi vitamins a day, an extra 45 mg of iron pill, and 1800 mg of calcium ( 4 chews a day) I also take a biotin... any idea what a good dose of biotin should be ?
-
Thanks for you input ! I really appreciate it... I'm only 6 -7 months out and I need to go in this month for my 6 month blood work ... then I should know how everything is going with that.
-
ahh I see so me taking just the multi is ok i would assume? I was thinking i had to take D and A in addition to my multis i take a day.
-
yes i take bariatric advantage too but mine is ultra util with iron.
-
yikes i didn't know you had to take d and a separate? i take 3 multis at one time and my extra iron and calcium separate. But that's what the doc told me to take.
-
ok thank you!
-
Hello MzNatalia, your regimen seems identical to mine except for the B1. I may start taking that too. The doc said i could if I wanted to. I haven't had my blood work labs done yet for 6 month post op but they are coming up. Do you take the B1 once a week or one everyday?
-
the b1? is that a pill a week or daily?
