That’s great to hear! How long were you there? How was the anesthesia process and nursing staff?

Haha it’s nice to have the resources we do working at the places that do/will do our surgeries! I only know two people who have had WLS but they were both successful. I didn’t hear about the whole process so this message board has been a godsend.

I am going to OSUWMC to Dr. Needleman. I work there so I don’t have much choice but I’m happy with my choice. I know Riverside is a great hospital though!

I am just starting the process, hoping to have my surgery next summer. I’m sorry about the pneumonia, that’s no joke! Feel better 😊

Why is it a secret?

I actually have found myself talking about it more in the past couple of days as well. I am just so excited about the prospect of being able to do things I can’t now and how much my health will improve, I can’t contain it! There will be skeptics but I know I have to be strong to get through it and it won’t be a cakewalk. Anyone I talk to who thinks it will be, well they can just watch me shrink and be jealous! Awesome! I hope you get to go home today and recovery goes smoothly!

I'm in Dublin, I have my first appointment for the psych evaluation on 1/22. Then six months of supervised dieting (been there done that) and crossing my fingers my insurance will approve me. Hoping to be getting a new wardrobe for Christmas next year!

Why is it a secret?

I have told the people in my direct work unit (all five of them ), my parents, my husband and daughter. I am just starting the process with my psychological evaluation not until January. Assuming everything goes well and I have my surgery, I won't be secretive about it if people ask but I don't feel I need to tell the whole office. People will obviously notice when I am out for several weeks so I'm sure some assumptions will be made. Oh well, if they want to know they can ask!
