  1. That's very promising. I hope my asthma becomes a thing of the past. I hate taking the steroid inhaler every day and carrying the bronchodilator one about with me x

    I hate eating out now!

I don't like wasting food and unfortunately loads of people have noticed and remarked on how little I'm eating these days. Friends, colleagues, family, waiting staff... I don't think I'm saving money on food either. Healthier stuff is more expensive and when you factor in protein shakes and pricey vitamins, I'm pretty sure it costs more nowadays. I don't regret my decisions at all but public eating is just no fun for me now. I just need to find new friends who want to go to different social settings x

    I hate eating out now!

I hate eating out now too unfortunately. I used to love it. They don't seem to have these cards in the UK. At a restaurant, I asked for a half portion and they refused. I had to attend an awards ceremony the other night - no menu options just the same for everyone. I could only manage 3 or 4 bites then was full. The waiting staff left me as the only one still with a plate at the table for ages then quizzed me when I asked them to take it away. Awkward! Then the other day was pot luck at work. I nibbled some grapes and about 1oz of cheese and my colleagues kept asking what was wrong. Think I'll just dodge these things in the future. X

    January bypass buddies??

Wednesday weigh in has come around again... I'm in at 225 today. Another 4lbs gone forever ☺ xxx
  8. Meat and dairy can have exogenous cholesterol but talk to your dietician hun xx
  9. Higher HDL is actually a good thing. It's the ratio that clinicians are interested in x
  10. I have to agree! Fish lips are not hot and they never will be. Someone with a dazzling personality = sexy, someone sweet with a twinkle in their eye and good conversation = sexy, someone doing their best duck-billed platypus impression = instant turn off x

    How normal is this?

I know what that's like @TerriWoods. I live in a predominantly Muslim suburb and part of their culture is to make guests feel not only welcome but part of their family. Every time I'm visiting they cook daal, chapatis, gorgeous curries, serve gulab jamin etc. I take a bite and take it home for my kids or into work for colleagues. It's so hard not feeling rude as it really is delicious food. Xx

    Worried about hydration at work

@sara_bear hey fellow lab scientist!! I too know how difficult it is to stay hydrated in our working environment. I get 2 x 15min breaks and 1x30min break for lunch so it's not really enough time when you can only sip. Im lucky im mostly off the bench now as im in management these days. Most places have a clean space e.g. office area nearer that the tea room. Does your line manager know of your surgery? If so, I'm sure extra breaks will not be an issue as long as you still work your assigned hours. If your operation is private or your manager gets awkward, id visit occupational health/employee health for advice. I also agree with @Sosewsue61 that 2 weeks isnt enough. Youre still an infection control risk due to incision sites Xx
  15. I second that! Your recipes are fab @FluffyChix glad you're doing so well xxx
  16. So having tried several combinations of vitamins and minerals..... I've finally found Baricol Complete which I think covers everything we need. They're not exactly delicious but I've tasted worse. Does anyone see anything missing that I should be taking? https://baricolbariatrics.co.uk/baricol-complete/

    Hello

    Wow you've done amazing x
  20. I can only speak from my own experience. My husband and I had mismatched sex drives. I was an every day gal (more if there was time), he was a once every week or two guy. I struggled. I felt rejected, ugly, unloved, unwanted and lost confidence. We tried talking but he wasn't up for a compromise. I never cheated but I can see how you could think that way. My advice is to deal with the bigger issues. Firstly, is there a medical reason for his low libido e.g. hormones or stress etc. Secondly, is there an emotional reason? Then see if there's a compromise to be made. You can take care of your own needs if it's purely sexual and he doesn't have to have sex to be actively involved in making sure you get off. To me, cheating would cause nothing but misery. No penis is worth the cost of an otherwise happy marriage x

    Anybody from San Diego?

@Marc76 you're in San diego xx
  22. Hey @Thom I'm really sorry for the hardships you're experiencing. It's hard enough accepting dramatic disabling changes in your life - even with all the support and money in the world so I really feel for you. Your wife did promise to stand by you in good and bad times and truth is, she sounds like she's struggling. She's stressed, she's worried about finances and potentially isn't used to being in the breadwinner role. She's grieving for the life she had before and the old you who was healthy and made her feel secure. That being said, you don't deserve to be verbally abused. None of this is your fault. I suggest counselling where you can redefine your roles and find a way forward. If she's unwilling to try, sadly, it's time to move on. If you stay and nothing changes, none of you will feel happy. I really hope counselling works for you guys. Xx
