Congratulations ☺ xx

Hey hun. I felt a little dizzy after mine as my blood pressure is on the low side at the best of times. It usually sits at 100/70 but it fell to 86/60. Keep your fluids up, get your protein in and walk as often as you can. If in doubt you should definitely speak to your healthcare provider xx

Oh yeah I have omeprazole orodispersable tabs for my stomach and had to do heparin injections for a week at home. Glad it's over! A month must be a nightmare. Are you doing your own or is someone popping out to you each day? I'm a wee bit jealous for your pureed foods!! I have been craving real food so bad but I know I couldn't actually manage to eat it yet. This must be "head hunger" that people talk about. I'm still enjoying cooking for my kids though. What sort of things are you having pureed? I was thinking mince n tatties with carrots maybe a good place to start? Not sure if that's just wishful thinking though LOL! I've been really lucky - healing up well and feeling positive. The gas is just about cleared now thank god! It was pretty unpleasant. I have some stitches in one of my incision sites but the rest look like they'll be pretty invisible when they've healed x

Congrats hun xx

Help! Not meeting protein and water intake.

SlimFast is also good as it has protein and some of your vitamins/minerals without the chalky taste of some protein shakes x -
Help! Not meeting protein and water intake.
MsTipps replied to regainingmytime's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Protein water has been a God send to me - 30g protein and not all thick and gloopy like shakes -
My op was the 12th. What's your post op diet like then? I'm on liquids-only for a minimum of 2 weeks then I gradually move to pureed food for a few weeks then soft then normal consistency stuff. I'm only having protein shakes, strained/sieved soup and the occasional Bovril at the moment. I am only drinking water and decaf coffee. It's all very dull. Were you prescribed Adcal? I'm only taking the chewable centrum but it doesn't have calcium in it so maybe I should look into getting some... eeek!

Fab! Congrats on your surgery! You feeling ok? I'm a Scot living in Yorkshire. Lived in Anfield for a bit when I worked in Liverpool (2011-2012 ish). I've been using PhD Diet Whey and Centrum chewable vits. I only ordered vanilla originally so I have had to order more as the same taste for every meal of every day is making me LOATHE it. I didn't realise the first sip I took would be the best it ever tasted. Can't wait til my mint choc chip and cherry bakewell powders arrive. What about you? x

I had the RNY on the 12th of Jan x

Mine was on the 12th and I feel fab too! This was the best decision I have ever made. When I was looking for a "before" picture and realised I don't have a single photo where I'm not up close face only or hiding behind people and things, I realised I don't want to feel ashamed of myself anymore. This is the best possible step to take to give me a chance to get healthy and start liking me again! Congratulations on your op!! It's so nice to see some positivity! xxx

What to Bring to the Hospital
MsTipps replied to Lindsay_Kate's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Oh I forgot about the chap stick - I just asked for some petroleum jelly for my lips but yes - is a good idea to take your own x -
It’s hard to find good “before” pictures
MsTipps replied to vanelifejourney's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yes - I'm at the start of my journey and was looking for a "before" pic and realised I don't have any photos of me that aren't close up face only or me hiding behind stuff. I don't have a photo of me with my kids or even one of me on my wedding day! It's shameful! I'm so glad I won't feel like that for much longer!! -
What to Bring to the Hospital
MsTipps replied to Lindsay_Kate's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
A good book for sure! You'll need comfy jammies, slippers, dressing gown (optional) and a few toiletries inc hair brush/comb. I didn't bother with makeup or anything like that. I didn't take anything for entertainment and man was I bored! I walked about the ward all day talking to people instead lol xx -
Good luck!!!

Blood thinner shot to prevent clots
MsTipps replied to Krista27's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey - I had them in hospital and to give myself a shot in the evening for a week when I got home.... Not fun but not complicated or painful. I too got a few little bruises - nothing major. Don't worry x -
How are you getting on?x

Drinking too fast and coffee.
MsTipps replied to Vg0213's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Decaff coffee seems to be fine for me. Have you tried that?x -
Good luck with your surgery. It will be better than you expect. I'm 9 days post op and have been very lucky with no complications. Let me know how it goes xx

Anyone else have back pain? Almost like kidney stone pain in a way
MsTipps replied to Keeks17's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
If there's blood in your pee, your pee is super cloudy or smells funny or its sore to urinate it's a uti. If it's just a pain it's probably gas... xx -

Not getting my protein or water in
MsTipps replied to babu1995's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Protein water is the best discovery for me. 30g protein in 500ml and it's not thick like the shakes. X -
Oh no! I'm due my first period at 10 days post op. I hope it's not a bad one 😕

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all
MsTipps replied to Adina's_Journey's topic in The Gals' Room
I was told not to shave anywhere at all for a week prior to surgery to avoid infection. Wore paper pants when I went in for my op and woke up still wearing them so don't think vaginal plumage will matter a jot. X
