I really like this idea! Think I'll look into some of the vegan options. X -
Wednesday weigh-in time for me. 28lbs since my final preop assessment and 20 lbs since surgery day. ☺

Can We Get a Little Drama Going Around These Parts Please?
MsTipps replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Is spanish fly safe to take after gastric bypass?? LOL 😆😉 -
That doesn't sound like enough to me but I'm a scientist, not a doctor. Might be worth giving them a call to double check quantities. Also explore protein water and experiment with caesin as that's protein but slow release so might keep you full longer x

Ive read that your body needs about 0.36g of protein for every lb you weigh. Are you getting enough protein in to cover your needs?x

I'm 2 weeks post op and have been given the green light for puréed foods. How much should I have? So far I've only allowed myself 1oz as I don't want to overdo it. What's everyone else doing/done? X
-
I've seen some groups post Wednesday weigh-ins.... how does everyone feel about starting this? We could put our current weight over our weight on surgery day and work out the percentage loss. Thoughts everyone? X

Anyone in the UK?

Hello! I'm currently in Leeds but moving back home to Scotland in April. How is everyone doing?x -
Sorry folks! I just needed a good vent! I had a chat to him last night so we'll see if there's any improvements. Thank you all for giving me a friendly ear and some advice. Much appreciated xx

So I have finally managed to catch up on all the laundry and housework that accumulated during/following my surgery. Every day I get the kids ready for school, pack their lunches, do their homework with them. I've cooked the rest of the week's dinners and frozen them in portions for everyone in the house except me cos I still can only have liquids. I have confirmed my start date for my new job, handed my notice into the old job. Arranged to view 6 houses to be closer to the new place. As I sit here, I'm just wondering what on earth my husband is doing. I feel like a maid! Is sharing chores too much to ask! I work full time and he's currently unemployed. How is this fair??? I never get so much as a thank you and I'm getting mightily peed off!!! It's only now I'm off sick I've realised how little he does. I guess Im usually just so busy I haven't had time to notice! Am I being unreasonable here?

I'm just following the docs advice. Hoping to get exercise clearance on Friday. Fingers crossed!x

Smoking...struggling to quit for surgery
MsTipps replied to vanelifejourney's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I smoked, quit for 9 years then started again. Quit again 3 months (cold turkey) before surgery. Still miss it sometimes but I really don't fancy the health complications. I like the nicotine free vape idea. Maybe try and see how it goes?x -
Good luck xxx

Take baggy clothes, slippers, a book and chapstick. Get up and walk as often as you can and keep on sipping your water. You can do this. Good luck! X
-
That's great. Hospital is fine but there's nowhere quite like home. Xx
-
Yeah I was a bit of a diva and demanded sips of water in the recovery room lol! Just couldn't quench my thirst and ended up demanding chapstick LOL! I guess I was still a bit high.xx
-
Congrats Marc! Sip sip sip and walk walk walk xxx
-
No I haven't - hope she's OK x

You've given me some good ideas for puréed stage. Do you think bombay potatoes would be good? Looks like I'll have to wait for my mince though! I went to the loo on the 3rd day then nothing happened for about 5 days and now I seem to be pretty regular. Think my system has started to adjust. Maybe try puréed allbran? I told work I'd be back in a fortnight then was surprised when the doc gave me a 6 week line. Think I'll actually need the six weeks in reality just wasn't expecting it xx
