Actual time off work
Gotalose replied to KennyJenks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have desk job. Surgery on Thursday and back to work on Tuesday -
The holidays were hard but back at it on 1/2. Getting ready to hit the one year mark and would like to hit onderland. I started at 314 and currently sitting at 219. A Keto approach always gets me going I just hope I continue going down

Had sleeve Jan 2018 and down 80lbs (315 now 235). I follow the rules about eating and drinking and no carbonation but have eaten what I want just a lot less. Haven’t gained but haven’t lost in the last month. I know I need to get back on Tracy but feeling on lost on where to begin. Do I go to liquid or straight protein? How do I “reset”. I’m ready to do this. Stuck in the middle of hurricane Flo so plenty of time to reflect and get myself in order. I’m ready to do this... again Any help and encouragement is appreciated. Thanks!

You are doing great! I started at 315 and I’m stuck around 236. I need to get on program and really focus on what I’m putting in my body. Def not getting enough water nor protein

What did your hair look like when it grew back
Gotalose replied to notmyname's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If you could see how much hair I lose daily you would be amazed I’m not bald It’s everywhere! I try to get it all out at one time so I localize where it falls. I am 8 mos post op and I think I’m finally slowing down and see new hair growth. Interested to see how it comes in. I don’t think my gray hair is as noticeable as before but maybe just because it hasn’t grown back yet -
I was sleeved in Jan 2018 and I have lost 80 lbs (315 now 236). I have not been following the program like I should have for about 2 months I never drink and eat and I never have carbonation but I do eat what I want, just far less than I used to. I would really like to get the ball rolling again. Just curious if damage could have been done on stretching stomach or if that is something that takes years not months. I have not gained wait but been at a stall for about a month. Any help or encouragement would be helpful. We are in the middle of hurricane flo so I’ve had plenty of down time to assess my situation

How is everyone doing? Anyone want to share updates?
-
how are you doing now? looking to see where most people are after surgery in january
-
how is everyone doing - I've had a rough time but still down 43 lbs since surgery but feel like I could use help with what everyone is eating. I need convenience food so I stay away from the kitchen. Any suggestions
-
I was sleeved right around the same time and I'm having a horrible time finding things to eat. Meals just don't work out for me so I find myself picking everything. I think what threw me for a loop is a month after surgery the hospital called me and basically told me to not get any protein or liquid from shakes or artificial protein. I have lost 35 lbs since surgery and 45 since 1/1 and I'm happy but really feel like if I can get an idea of what people are eating I can try to plan my days out better.

Had the procedure end of January and only told my husband and mother. Both are very supportive and I'm sure others would have been as well but decided to just tell them. I have 2 teenagers and didn't tell them. Luckily for me I had my gallbladder out at the same time so everyone thought that is why I went in for surgery. I only stayed in the hospital one night so it wasn't a big deal at all. I had surgery on a Thursday and was back at work on Monday and even went on a girls trip weekend 2 weeks after surgery (something I wouldn't recommend - I was way too exhausted) I've lost 45 lbs since January and contribute the weight loss to Lowcarb prior to gallbladder surgery and then being scared to eat after having gallbladder removed because how food might affect me while I'm out. Good Luck - my only recommendation is if you keep it a secret truly try not to tell that many - you don't want to put them in an uncomfortable position if someone ask them.

How do you get to 60g protein and stay under 800
Gotalose replied to ElseeG's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, please post menu. I’m struggling also. I’m five weeks out and having a hard time with food, protein drinks and water intake. Not to mention the hospital clinic keeps telling me not to drink my protein. They want real protein. No shakes or powders. Ugggg -
I’m 5 weeks out and at my 2 week appointment my Dr was more surprised I was trying to take vitamins than me not taking them. I think he knows how hard it is to do all of this at one time after getting sleeved Two things that stuck out when we met were him saying you usually have enough nutrients in your system for almost a year and that we didn’t have gastric bypass we had the sleeve so our body is absorbing what we are eating. With that being said I go back on Monday and that’s when things get real for me because that’s when he starts me on my program for the rest of this journey

I couldn't stand the crushed pills. I'd rather not taking anything than to crush the pill. My doctor said as long as I could stand it he was okay with me taking the pills whole. I just break it in half and take it with pudding and its all good.

I'm sure whatever I'm going through is just my body adjusting to the rapid weight loss of the first 2 weeks. Actually didn't have any weight loss my first 5 days and then bam... 20 lbs were gone. I'm happy were I am just wish I didn't feel like crap. I had the flu last week and I would have thought some lbs would be lost but I guess not. I'm going to "step off" the scale for awhile and see what happens after that.
-
Yes, I've hit the dreaded 3 week stall. Not only that but I'm miserable when I put anything in my mouth to eat. It all hurts so bad but I can tell I need to eat. Lost 20 lbs the first 2 weeks and ready to start losing again. I'm not sure anymore what I'm supposed to be eating or how much. I want to go back to the safety of the liquid stage!!! Everything else scares me. I find that I need to take zofran which I didn't start until about a week ago which helps when I do eat but I would love some help on food ideas. My doctor isn't worried about anything until I go in for my 5 week checkup and then that's when it gets serious. I think right now he just wants me to eat what I can and to heal. He's not concerned about protein or vitamins at this point and is okay if I don't lose another lb until I go in on 3/5. Anyone else going through the same thing and with a relaxed doctor the first month?
-
Good luck with it all - remember we are all here for you. I had my surgery on a Thursday and went back to work on the following Tuesday. If I could do it again I would probably do it on a Wednesday so I could go back on the following Monday but it wouldn't make that much of a difference. I also had my gallbladder removed at the same time as the sleeve. Just remember not to overdo it and to take care of your self
-
I also lost most of my weight so far during the first week (close to 13 lbs). I've only lost another 5 lbs in the other week and half. Not complaining but I'm going to start only getting on the scale once a week. What is everyone eating? I want something warm, not cold. I went to the store today and bought about 15 different soups.
-
My Dr did send me home with Zofran. Did it help. I wonder if I should try taking it
-
I'm not sure if I caught a virus or if this is part of the healing. I tried to eat soft food but feel nauseous after eating the tiniest bit of anything. I think I need to go back to just shakes and liquids. I'm miserable and out of energy. I really hope it was just the stomach bug of some sort. I'm staying hydrated but its a bad feeling anytime I put anything thats not liquid in my stomach. Almost like its stuck in my throat and I need to get sick. Anyone else feel this way? 315 hw 1/3 299 sw 1/25 280 cw 2/9

Stomach bug two weeks out from surgery
Gotalose replied to Gotalose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m very week and going to pcp for flu test. Any suggestions on what I can eat drink for strength and hydration -
Help! I’m two weeks out from sleeve surgery and pretty sure I have a stomach bug. The only thing I can keep down right now is Italian ice. The problem is I can’t find any sugar-free Italian ice. Any suggestions? How bad is it if I am eating full sugar Italian ice. I know it’s not ideal but my goal right now is just to stay hydrated

Gotalose posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just wondering if anyone wanted to share what they lost after surgery if they started out around 300. Interested to know what the norm might be for first week after surgery, first month, etc. Thanks -

Its right around the corner and little motivation doesn't hurt! You'll be right there with the surgery weight or close to it. I hope seeing all these awesome numbers has you pumped up! WE DESERVE THIS! -

Thanks for asking and sharing. I'm one week out today and I've lost 14 since surgery. I'm terrified that its going to just come to a stall and I'll lose motivation. I am so ready to do this! I'm off clear liquids and on full liquids now and I'm terrified to stretch my stomach out. I also had gallbladder removed at the same time so I was dealing with that as well but I'm back to work and ready to lose this weight! Sometimes the mental head game gets me but I'm so pumped looking at the scale it keeps me super motivated. I'm going to try to only look at it once a week now. How much were you eating when you started on puree foods? Is 1/4 cup or 3 ounces too much
