  1. YOU are doing fantastic! I know it has only been one week since my surgery but I am lactose intolerant so finding a Protein shake that doesn't reek havoc on my insides is next to impossible. I am only on clear liquds anyways which consist of water, Crystal light and broth. I am constantly sick to my stomach so I barely get 16 oz of liquid in me a day, which I know is not good. I'm concerned but will just tough it out until my two week check up on 8 Dec.
  2. This is how my Dr. Does it with her patients. From what I understand once I hit the 1/4 cup of mushy foods that will go on for at least 2-4 months then switch to solids. By the time it is one year out I could be up to 1 cup of regular food per meal but never more than that. I know it sounds hard but the way I look at it I should be successful getting this weight off and maintaining it.
  3. @TrishL I feel your pain. After one week I am still taking small sips, it really is uncomfortable. I will be on liquids for at least 2 months then it should be mushy foods 1/4 cup per meal. I will say I have no appetite so that is a plus. Hang in there Sweety, you got this!
  4. Well I wish you the best, just relax and be smart. Sending you positive thoughts on your journey.
  5. Wow! This is the opposite of my Dr., in fact, they ask if you have ever been on it, if you say yes then most likely you would be refused surgery because you will have a high risk of a heart attack. That stuff is very hard on your heart. I honestly do not understand how staying on it will help. You are going to have a stomach the size of a medium banana. You will not be able to over eat unless you want to get sick and hurt yourself. Believe me, you will not want to overeat. That diet pill is all a mind game, if you want to lose this weight then you need to mentally fight it. Good luck!
  6. I know!!!! Dale Cruz, I had to have an upper GI to see if there were any leaks before I was allowed liquids. My Dr. Is very strict and rather be safe than sorry.

  8. Today is 1 week since my surgery. The first day you will not be allowed anything, not even water. Day 2, you will feel tenderness at your incision sites. They will make you take small sips of water, this will be painful, it will feel like your swallowing huge gulps of water and when it hits your stomach opening it hurts really bad! Take tiny sips in the beginning and let it trickle down your throat. Oh, and on the first day of surgery I was up walking and going to the bathroom within the first couple of hours. Do not baby yourself! As each day passes you will notice that drinking will still be a chore, you will not want it but it will be forced on you. I Don't know about anyone else but I also have to give myself a shot in the tummy for two weeks of medicine to prevent blood clots. I am 47 so it could be due to my age. So I send my best to you, just drink, drink, drink and be smart about it...no lifting! You don't want to get a hernia.
  9. I Know it is hard but what you ate is not good. I would suggest buying sugar free jello and sugar free pudding. Remember, you can eat as much of the sugar free products you want without any issues. So if you just get that urge that you must eat then just pig out on sugar free Jello. I promise it will get you through this hard time, believe me I know what you're going through. Also, drink a lot of water and Crystal Light products.

    Awesome! So proud of you!
  11. Newme69....Do not beat yourself up for cheating, just don't do it again. Let's face it, none of us has will power or we wouldn't be in this situation. I know it is hard, when I had my surgery on Wednesday the first thing I wanted to do was drink water but I was not allowed any water for 24 hours! That was Hell! I am currently on a clear liquid Stage one diet for two weeks. I tried jello and it hurt like Hell so no jello until my sleeve heals. I am living off of water & Crystal light right now. I have no appetite so it doesn't bother me. I know as each day goes by it will get easier. You got this girl, hang in there! ((HUGS))
  12. I would stay from butter. I had my surgery on Wednesday and everything went well, but it is very difficult to swallow water. It feels like there is a huge lump between my breasts when I drink. Other than that I am excited to go home today and be in my own bed. I know it is tough being on a liquid diet right now but remember this is preparing your body for your surgery and afterwards. Good luck!
  13. My surgery is on Wednesday...fed my family Thanksgiving on Nov. 7th! lol I wasn't missing out on that food. lol So I am on the 2-week liquid diet, it has been horrible. I cannot expect my family to do it with me. The Protein shakes cause really bad stomach issues so I rather not drink them. I have been living off of sugar-free jello & pudding and chicken broth. A lot of Crystal Light and water. My family will not allow me to cave. They were eating pizza yesterday and I begged them for a bite and they said NOPE. I did get some Cream of Wheat and I cook it to where it is watered down so I considered that a liquid. I use Equal so that should be okay. I won't lie, I miss my pasta and sweets..which most likely got me into this situation. The only thing I pray for is I lose my sweet craving, if that happens I will be golden!
