  1. Hi Lily'sMom I'm feeling good. I'm down 27 pounds since my surgery. I wish I was loosing more rapidly but at least I'm loosing. Congrats on your 43-pound weight loss. That is amazing. Do you adhere to a certain diet, or just using the restriction to limit the quantity of food you eat? I love my peloton, it's my therapy. The best investment I have made besides my sleeve!
  2. My surgery will be performed today. I arrived in Tijuana Mexico last night with no problems. I was picked up at San Diego airport by a driver(Rene) from BariatricPal, he was professional and kind. He drove me to my hotel, waited while I checked in, and showed me to my room. Since I'm traveling alone, this was much appreciated. The hotel is called the Real Inn, it's nice, clean and the beds are super cozy. I'm now just waiting for 9:30 to roll around so I can be transported to the hospital for the sleeve procedure. I will check back in to update my experience. I know when researching this it helped to hear from others experiences so hopefully, this will help someone out there. The most challenging part was traveling from the east to west coast on the pre-op diet. I packed dried chicken stock to mix with hot water on the plane. There was nothing much else to eat on the clear liquid diet while traveling. The sugar-free jello goes straight through me and the sugar-free popsicles would melt while traveling. I wish I bought more sugar-free drinks at the airport to bring to the hotel room last night because I was really thirsty. Woke up starving and definitely dehydrated from my travels yesterday. I'm looking forward to an IV drip of fluids at this point. I will post my experiences throughout my stay here in Tijuana Mexico.
  3. Me too! Good luck today! Keep me posted on your progress.
  4. How did your surgery go? I hope you are healing well.
  5. Bubbles, how are you doing? Hi. I'm doing great, thanks for asking! I'm 6 weeks out and feeling great. I believe my start weight was 207 or even higher, I'm down to 185. I started using my Peleton bike last week which really seemed to jump start my weight loss after a little stall. No pain, the restriction is wonderful, feeling my clothes become looser, and my scars are fading. I forget that I had the surgery, it feels like forever ago. Best decision of my life!

    Left Lower Abdominal Pain

I had the same pain of my left side. The doctor said it was muscular..it went away around day 9 postop. The pain is really dull now...slightly sore, no more sharp jabbing pain. Walking helped...I think it may be a combination of gas and muscles being pulled during the procedure. Sometimes I would bend to the right or arch my back and it would subside.

    June Sleevers Lets Get Excited!!!

I was sleeved on 6/28....day 9 postop. I was 195 last Thursday and I weigh 197 today, I'm still on liquids..broth, water and sugar-free, an artificial sweetner-free drink called Bai which is only 10 calories per bottle. How is it possible that I'm gaining weight on such little. I'm a little concerned and bummed. I did have horrible diarrhea pre and postop. It stopped two days ago and now it appears I may be constipated. Ugh. Has anyone else had weight fluctuations so soon postop? I thought this is when weight would be dropping off of me. Bummed.

    4 hour flight Post app

Yes, home and healing. Day 9 postop for me.
  10. I understand how you feel. I left my daughters home to travel alone to Tijuana for surgery. What got me through was the fact that I had not been living my best life for the past few years, therefore had not been there for my kids and loved ones in the capacity they deserve. I was dying each and every day in the state I was in. Leading up to surgery, I literally took it day by day, and sometimes hour by hour. I would think...today I'm here in my home, safe, and I'm going to enjoy this day. I took each day like that until I arrived at the hospital for surgery. When I arrived I informed the anesthesiologist I was anxious and she gave me something to relax me. Whenever you have a "what if" thought it is driven by anxiety and irrational thinking. Try to focus on the facts.... the expertise of the doctor, reviews of the facility, and such. If you are going with Bariatric hospital, you are in great hands. They made me feel so safe, cared for, and comfortable the whole time I was there.

I flew economy 5-hour direct flight from Tijuana to New York. I sat in an aisle seat so I could get up and walk throughout the flight. It was fine.

    Happy 4th!!.. I'm So F**king Over Broth!!!

I was sleeved on the 6/28 as well. I'm still on broth...so over it! Your lucky that you can have the jello. My body is rejecting sugar-free ;( Broth, herbal teas and water for me. It's challenging,
  13. Help! Unfortunately, I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners which is making my liquid phase of my postop challenging. Broth and water is getting old. Would others who have the same allergy share products you like that are free of artificial sweeteners. Thanks

    Intolerance to Artificial Sweeter

Sorry to hear about that. It's crazy how many foods and beverages have citric acid.

    Intolerance to Artificial Sweeter

What about agave, it’s a natural sweetener. I don’t use a lot but it helps in tea. Or I’ve heard of Swerve Sweetner. I will give Agave a try. I will check out Swerve Sweetener as well. Thanks a million!

I have not, I will give it a try. Thank YOU so much!
  18. Thanks, Best of luck to you!!
  19. My procedure went well. I'm three days out today. The cleanliness, modern technology, and quality of care far exceed any hospital I have experienced in the United States. I fly home tonight, hopefully, my journey of healing continues to go well.
  20. I brought my laptop and iPhone. There is free wifi at the hospital and the hotel. They have cable and firestick at the hospital to stream Netflix. There is a safe in the room to lock up your wallet and such.
  21. Thank you. Wishing you all the best. I can't say enough positive things about my experience here.
