    Happy Valentine's Day!

Now, that....is a sexy healthy dinner:) Happy VD to you, too!

    Still the same

Sounds like you have a little post-surgery depression. A lot of people feel like that, a little disillusioned and freaked out after surgery. All the changes can be scary. OMG, what have I done? OMG, what if I fail? I think everyone's been there a little. The good news is that the hard part is behind you, and it just gets better from here! Just work your program. Do your best, and believe in your success. It takes time, but you'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day...we didn't get fat in a day...we won't lose it all in a day. Just gotta be patient. Baby steps. You'll get there!

7 weeks post op, not losing

I eat 1200 calories a day. 6 little meals of 200 calories each. 60+ grams of protien, low glycemic carbs, fruits and veggies. I walk 5-7 miles a day. I have terrific energy, and I'm never hungry. Weight loss has been slow and steady. Stalls happen. Everyone experiences them. Just stay the course...you're doing fine.

First Period in 15 months... now it won't stop

I'm glad you're getting it checked out at the obgyn. I had some issues with "the period that never ended"...spotting on and on... and had an endometrial cancer scare. Luckily, my biopsies were clean, some meds got the eternal period to go away, and the next one was more normal. Perimenopause sucks! It's enough to freak you out. I know the blood thinner shots can play havoc with perimenopause, particularly if you have fibroids. I wouldn't be overly alarmed, because what you're describing does happen. But, I would definitely stay on top of it with your doctor.

    Does shopping count as exercise?

Log it as walking. Ya got the steps. Claim those suckers!
  6. Oh hell, I don't care:) Complain and moan all you want. It's cathartic. Maybe you'll feel less angsty and have a better day. If so, good for you! Absolutely fair point. But be warned....I can take a LOT of heat without losing my sense of humor and sense of fun:) By the way, thanks for bumping the thread again! It's post like yours that keep it from passing into obscurity:)

    Happy Valintines Day

    Happy VD to everyone:)
  8. Welcome to the Rants and Raves Board. You might have followed a link over here, but you are no longer at the main board...you are on the Rants and Raves Board. Kookie, huh? Please familiarize yourself with what the Rants and Raves board is:) Here is the description left by its creator: Want debate? Get it here. Gripe, complain, moan, fight, rant and rave. Enter at your own risk! You will find that over at the main board....questionable humor is discouraged, people are more sensitive to the concerns of newbies, and conversation is kept extremely civil. But over here in the dark little Rants and Raves corner....darker humor has a place. Enjoy or Avoid...it's up to you!

    Question for post op

The Myth that everyone loses their appetite. God, I wish people would stop perpetuating this. It's true that some people lose their appetite for months. Some folks are nauseated and have a tough time. But many MANY folks could eat their own leg off right after surgery they're so freaking hungry after the starvation liquid diet. Real hunger can be cured by healthy food choices. "Head hunger" is when you've had healthy food but you still want a Big Mac with a donut chaser. One is physiological...one is mental. After surgery, you're quite literally starving.
  10. And onto my ignore list you go, Elise:) Poof! All gone:) God, I love how that works! I hope your day gets better:) Will miss ya, buh-bye!
  11. In fact, I think I'm gonna take my own advice here and get rid of a few people whose posts annoy me:) POOF! Much nicer!
  12. Here's you go... Hover your little pointer right over my name. <-------over there...see it? Now you can select the option: Ignore User Not so hard, is it? You can select to ignore all of my post...and Poof! you don't have to see them ever again:)
  13. Please God...BLOCK ME IF I OFFEND YOU! You have my blessing!
  14. Want debate? Get it here. Gripe, complain, moan, fight, rant and rave. Enter at your own risk! Folks, that's the description for this board. I'm compaining. I'm moaning. I'm ranting and raving. Cause I'm allowed to do that here:) About generalizations. If you're choosing to make it personal...that's on you...not me. If you think anything here was written about you, personally, frankly, you're flattering yourself. Not a single name or individual came to mind. Just the trends...because they're funny.
  15. LOL...well crap. Thanks for explaining that:) I'm just here ranting on the rant board.
  16. I think moving away from a Rants and Raves board is exceptionally wise...if you are offended by Rants and Raves:) Smart choice!
  17. If you expect me to worry about hurt feelings for talking about stereotypes and vague generalizations...you're barking up the wrong tree. That would be like me worrying about you calling me a mean gurl. BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! LOLOLOLOL:) Psst... Pot? It's the Kettle... You're black:)
  18. Nope. I had absolutely no specific people in mind. And No, I don't think I went to far...in fact, there are several other stereotypes I left out. LOLOLOLOL:) Will have to revisit this thread and add a few more at some point!

    Surgery and liquid diet

I had two weeks of living hell diet....My third day was Thanksgiving and I had to cook for family. God, that sucked. So bad. But I guess I figured if I could survive that, I could survive anything...so that's what I did. I think I lost 12 pounds:)

    WOW, you look great!!!!

I kinda hate it. I've been hearing it a lot lately...and it's not that I think I looked so awful before....I just kinda feel offput by people focusing on the superficiality and assuming that's why I did it. How I look had next to nothing to do with my decision....but no one says....Man, you've lost weight, how are you feeling? Looks like your health is improving...look at your energy! See...that kinda stuff would make me feel encouraged. The looks crapola? Meh...could live without it.

    Change Your Hospital

Would put you in a tricky spot for sure...but I can't see how they could withhold your records...I mean...they do belong to you. Would depend very much on the new surgeon. Can I ask what the roadblock is?

    Surgery and liquid diet

Liquid diet was worse than surgery in my opinion. Was torture. Don't cheat. If you're going to cheat, cheat with protein, and absolutely no carbs. It's the elimination of carbs that shrinks your liver. Don't cheat. it gets easier after your will to live is broken and you give up. For me, this happened around day 3-4. LOL:) Laugh or cry. We laugh to survive.

    Sleeve Procedure at 60

Lady in the room next door to me was 63, we went strolling around the ward together. She did very well:)
  24. ROTFLMFAO:) Rolled oats take four long minutes for appetizing oatmeal*
  25. Something like that. For fart's sake if you're a mom of small children, for feck's sake if you're Irish...etc..etc..
