Where are these trolls coming from?
Creekimp13 replied to goldenbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The dates say something different. What date did you make this snarky assed post to KaKatLady? You posted this in this thread on February 16, too: "Also what’s up with people who haven’t even had surgery just putting there opinions everywhere and being rude?" She wasn't being rude. You were. -

KaKatLady can post her opinion. So can every other newbie who wants to. -

Please read this again, GoldenBarbie. Note where KaKatLady answers your questions...with a guess she admits is a guess... And you're rude as crap to her. KaKatLady is 72 years old, and she's harmless. When you pissed all over her...and AGAIN took a piss on her with this "troll" thread...it did not endear me. I think you owe her an apology. -
Last yoga class.... not sure what to do now
Creekimp13 replied to goldenbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I kinda like yoga. We actually have a board that is especially for fitness and exercise discussions:) It's over here: https://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/991-fitness-exercise/ -
Where are these trolls coming from?
Creekimp13 replied to goldenbarbie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hungry sore people are ornery. It sucks to be fat. It sucks to completely redefine your relationship with food. It sucks to wonder when the scale is gonna move again after you've had your stomach cut out and are following instructions to the letter. So many things. There are a lot of legitimate reasons people are angsty. BUT....You're right that people should do their best to be civil and conscious of other's feelings....particularly on the main board where we exchange help and information. To me...this thread is a rant and belongs on the rant board. It's not informative or helpful...it's just a rant about perceived "trolls"...which is as subjective as it is pointless. The rant board would be a good place for it. -

Take pictures of your butt and post them a lot? That could fill some time. -

Where are these trolls coming from?

Denmark, Norway, Sweden,Finland and Iceland. Trolls are Scandinavian in origin. Ever notice how people who have lost their favorite coping vice....and are really freaking hungry...can be really really...bitchy? And also really touchy and reactive about other people who they perceive are being bitchy? Hell, I'm guilty of it. Probably of both. Sure don't mean to be. I'm not pointing fingers at any particular party....just something I've noticed. People get extra angsty and on edge when they're stressed and have one of their main coping mechanisms missing. This whole adventure has tough moments you don't expect. Emotionally difficult spots that might show up as fangs instead of tears. Something to keep in mind. PS...if anyone asked me if I went to the gym in real life, I'd probably smack the **** out of them. If they're not a close friend whose kind intent I was certain of...without the context of real love and support....it's a rude question. Just sayin' -
Huh. I had diarrhea in the soft stage...I think most people do. But not since. But hells yeah...avoid diarrhea! LOL:) Can definitely understand being stressed about not wanting a case of it!
-
I think it's awesome that you do, Tealeal. But I can tell ya from experience....the world won't end if you you accidentally drink too soon after eating here and there. Not the best idea... and you're right to follow the rules....but seriously, all that will happen is that it would help push your food through sooner...and you'd get hungry again a little sooner than you should. Once in a while bending this rule isn't gonna cause serious harm. But it's not a good habit and you're better served to observe it:) Do follow the rule. Don't stress, though:) Life has enough stress. This one...isn't that scary.
-
You are, indeed. That's very scary! So glad you're ok. Ulcers are typically caused by that particular bacteria, though they can caused by a few other things after surgery, too. Does the doctor have any theory what caused it? Do you drink a lot of caffeine, smoke, use ibuprofen or aspirin, drink heavily, etc? Trying to dodge a bullet from your experience....

Thought I was doing well but no...

That stinks! Sorry for your bad luck. Had mine out ages ago. Had it done outpatient first thing in the morning....and was home sitting on the couch eating a Subway sandwich by 2pm. Piece of cake:) You'll feel better. Best wishes! -
Sounds like a stress dream...typically highlighting anxiety about something in your waking life. I don't worry obsessively about following the rules. Yep, I try to follow them. I do a damned good job about 98% of the time. The other 2%....meh...is negligible in the big picture. Perfection is more stress than it's worth:)

Yikes. No fun. Do you have helicobacter pylori?
-
If you start to vomit and can't keep things down, or if the situation seems to be getting worse instead of better...call your doctor. Otherwise, wait until your appointment. Stay hydrated.
-
Your experience is completely normal. There will be stalls. Lots of them. Just work your program, be patient and trust that the weight will go. It will. It's all good.

Can I still lose this weight? How long approx?
Creekimp13 replied to LetsDoThisAgain's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I don't think there's a person here who can't identify with and empathize with feeling disheartened when the scale doesn't move as fast as we'd like. But here's the thing...no matter how long it takes, or how quickly you get the weight off...even after you arrive at goal weight.....you still have to figure out how to live with your eating habits and lifestyle changes. They're not temporary. They're not just until you lose weight....they're forever. That's the real goal. Changing the habits. Rather than working on getting the weight off as fast as you can....maybe it would be more constructive long term to work on developing a healthy diet you like and can live with? Maybe find some exercise that you enjoy that makes life more fun? Find an exercise friend. Find some recipes that are both really healthy and really delicious. Lifelong lifestyle changes are so challenging. But baby steps add up, you know? Just keep trying every day. I think you can do this. You've already proven you're pretty tough and pretty determined. Don't forget to take credit for what you've already accomplished. Wishing you the best. -

First off, congrats on your awesome loss:) Could you lose 55 pounds in 4 months? That's a tough call. In the last 8 months you've lost 55 pounds....but you had the benefit of being immediately post surgery, and you weighed more (so weight loss by volume should have been easier than now) My gut feeling here is that you're hoping for a result that isn't realistic. That said, there's no harm in trying hard and seeing what happens, right? What happens in June? Good luck:) -

Out of curiosity...what's going on in June? I'm no expert or anything...but I think losing 155 pounds by June is awfully unlikely. I feel like I'm getting some conflicting data here.... Before surgery you were 309...then you lost some weight....but then regained to 354 in the last eight months? Is that correct? Can you clarify your stats? That might help. Could that have been a typo? Are you 254? -
Perfectly stated:)
-
Good for you:) Congrats! Man, it's hard to be patient with it....but it does come off. Just gotta hang in there and trust your program.

I might be wrong...but I think she means "non-scale victory" Kinda like... "hey, I got into a narrow booth at a restaurant today and my tummy didn't touch the table" or.. "I lost an inch off my neck" or.... "I had great sex in a position I haven't tried in years!" Progress not measured in pounds. -

How important is it to have a companion (family or friend) during and 2-3 days post op?
