    Having second thoughts

Bypass people have dumping syndrome. Sleeve folks really don't. We can get nauseated a little if we eat too much sugary stuff...but not like the bypass folks. They get seriously sick. It passes...but it looks miserable. I have no problems having a a bite of my hubby's desert when we go out. In fact...I kinda wish I had more issues because I really like sugar and it's empty calories that are not a great idea. I had a bite of a Cadbury Egg on Easter...OMG...was crazy sweet...but I didn't get sick. Did want a big glass of water, though...lol...bleh! But seriously....you will not have any problem having a couple of bites of pretty much anything. You need to worry much more about falling into old habits. The vitamins are no big deal. I take Flinstone's chewables and a some extra D and B vitamins (also chewable) and calcium. It sounds like a pain in the arse....but it's no big deal at all. You get used to it. (and it beats the heck out of the prescription drugs I used to take) Sometimes people need a while to be "ready" for surgery. My first consult was almost 20 years ago. On the one hand...I wish I'd had it done sooner because I feel so much better. My energy is awesome and I feel terrific. On the other hand...I'm kinda glad I waited for sleeve. Just keep weighing the risks against the benefits. You'll get there when you're ready. But yeah....I'm so so so glad I had surgery:) Love my sleeve!

    Taking NSAIDs Post-Op

I am forbidden to take them. I miss them. But I'm learning to get along with just Tylenol. Has been less problematic than I feared.

    Nail bed lifting

Yikes. Ouch. Let us know what your doc says. So sorry!
  10. I remember doing some weird powder that you were supposed to sprinkle on your food...there were different kinds for sweet stuff and savory stuff....and it was supposed to make you fill up faster and feel fuller? Does anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? LOLOLOL. I can't remember! You were supposed to lose 30 pounds in six months. The government got a big fraud settlement and paid the people who bought it....I got a settlement check in the mail like two years after I tried it.
  11. HEY! I USE my copies of Sweatin to the Oldies! Like....last week! LOL:) Cardio dance routines never go outta style:)
  12. Best to discuss this with your doc and have some tests done:) Could also be gallbladder if you still have yours.

Dr. Atkins, pioneer of the ketogenic diet

Oye. To each their own, my friend. Whatever:)

Dr. Atkins, pioneer of the ketogenic diet

Fluff you are correct that Atkin's shitty cardiovascular problems were strongly influenced by his illness. But his diet sure as hell didn't help him. He still had heart attacks and couldn't breath....and it very well might have made his condition worse. We don't know. Looking in his arteries in an autopsy could have provided information about whether it did or not......but his family didn't allow that....so we'll never know.

Dr. Atkins, pioneer of the ketogenic diet

Russel Wilder was on the ground floor and actually NAMED the ketogenic diet...the ketogenic diet....at Mayo clinic back in the early 1920's when they were using it to treat epilepsy. And yet...Mayo doesn't even leave epileptic kids on the diet for over two years today....because of enduring concerns about cardiovascular side effects. Not to say Mayo is the Know-all End-all of medical research. But they have a hell of a reputation.

Dr. Atkins, pioneer of the ketogenic diet

Neither did the coroner:) LOL Fact: According to Atkin's health history...provided by his own doctors to the coroner.....he had a history of hypertension, heart attack and congestive heart failure.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

https://www.healthcentral.com/article/divorce-rate-after-bariatric-surgery-is-high-my-bariatric-life https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-obesity-surgery-relationships/weight-loss-surgery-tied-to-increases-in-divorces-marriages-idUSKCN1HA2G6 There's a reason bariatric surgery is often called "divorce surgery" It can make a good marriage better...but it can amplify problems in a troubled marriage. Can be a tough time for couples, for sure.
  20. The Gazelle! Sounds fun, doesn't it? I mean...look at that guy smiling! I had one. God help me.
  21. I ate the olestra fat free pringles. I loved them. I ate too many. And yes...I sharted in public, had to abandon my underpants in a grocery store feminine hygiene waste box....and never ate them again.
  22. And I chased them down with some Garcinia Cambogia capsules:) My burps tasted like the rain forest.
  23. Yes, I too, bought and ate a million Acai berries. LOL:)
