    What is your why?

So sorry for your loss. 💗
  2. Man, you drew rough cards. 😥 I'm glad they're figuring it out and getting you taken care of. I hope when you wake up this time, you feel much better and have a more typical experience. Glad you're being monitored and getting things resolved soon. Been thinking of you since I read your post yesterday, fingers crossed, sending warm thoughts and bucket of sympathy girl....what a rotten thing to happen. Hopefully you're gonna turn a corner here in a day or so and feel much better. *hugs*
  3. Chantrella, please let us know how you're doing when you can. Thinking of you today and hoping all is well.

All the sounds my stomach makes...

Three years out....stomach still sounds like deep water sea creatures mating.

    What is your why?

I did NOT want diabetes and my A1C was creeping up with my fasting glucose. Three years prediabetic and the numbers just kept getting worse. My A1C is 5.0% now. Well into normal. I am so glad I dodged diabetes. Two brothers have it. My legs were starting to swell with pitted edema...bad. Tops of my feet started to swell up, too. My physical endurance was awful. My back hurt so bad just doing a regular shopping trip that I had to find a place to sit down halfway through. I felt old and disabled. I'm riding horses huntseat and jumping again. I can walk several miles with no issues. I'm riding my bike with my dog again. At almost 49...I feel younger than I have since I was 30:)

    Congrats! Woot!

    Chickpea "Pasta"

I'm a huge fan of Chickpea Pasta. Eat it regularly. Plant protien, fiber, and tastes great. I genuinely prefer it to wheat pasta now.
  10. Listen to your doctor. Go to the hospital now. Your BF can call Uber for Pete's sake. Very seriously...your life could be in danger.

    Dumping

I'm so sorry you got sick. I hope it passed fast. That sounds just awful. Horrible admission... I clicked on this post because I thought it said "dumpling" and I was like....someone has a healthy dumpling recipe? Do tell! Yep...food addict till the end. Oye. Please feel better.
  12. I meant so say "Every Dead END" Meaning....it can't spread when it hits vaccinated folks. I just read that and went....oh man that looks wrong. Hope ya'll followed what I meant instead of what I typed. Apparently, I couldn't type last night. LOL.
  13. I'm too young and not fat enough anymore. LOL. Shite! And my comorbidities have all resolved so I'm kinda SOL for a few months. Can't wait to get the shot. I'm on an "on call" list for getting a last minute dose if any appointments cancel and left overs need to get used up for the day. Can't wait for things to get closer to being back to normal:) Looking forward to a better year! Thanks to everyone getting the shot. Every dead for that nasty bug helps all of us.

    Puréed Diet Daily Mealplan

Long time ago. I remember eating thin mashed potatoes, thinned refried beans, putting split pea soup in the blender. Poached fish is a popular next step (that maybe you fudge a little and start early) because fish is SO protieny and poached is super tender. Whipped Greek yogurt. Yasso frozen yogurt bars. Cream soups. Scrambled eggs. Tons of protien shakes.

Day 3 on Pre-Op and STARVING!

Sugar free Jello. Clear broth. Green Tea. Distractions. Watch movies you love. Have crazy sex. Take a hot bath. Do something you enjoy. I had a terrible time of it, too. I HATE how I feel in ketosis. I feel unhinged and horrible, brain fog, hangry, desperate, dizzy, miserable. Pre-op diet was really tough for me, but I did it. A day at a freaking time. An hour. A minute, sometimes. You can do this. It won't last forever.

    Bread

I'm three years out and LOVE bread of all kinds. Naan is a favorite. Love sourdough and pumpernickle, health nut and multigrain too. But I've gotta say, it's still tough to eat a lot of it, even now....and that's probably for the best in my case cause historically, bread was something I'd go to town on and overindulge. I can eat bread almost like a normal person now...meaning...a reasonable single or half serving of it, instead of a double or triple serving like I used to. Balance is a good thing! You're still in early days. And yep, you're gonna have moments of frustration and missing your old eating habits, missing the way certain things tasted/felt. Old favorites won't work anymore and it's a weird feeling....for me there was a little bit of food grief...as disturbing as that is to say, I did feel genuinely sad about my changing relationships with food. But then, I found new healthy favorites, new ways of cooking, got used to new portion sizes, new expectations. New body, better health It does get a lot better in time. Promise.

    Scared to have surgery!

I'm a statistics girl. Am I statistically more likely to die of surgery complications, or of health complications from being morbidly obsese? I crunched those numbers and decided the benefits pretty clearly outweigh the risks. Whatever you choose, you have to live with the consequences....and both decisions carry risk. Which risk is worse? Whatever you decide...best wishes to you!

    Last stage solid food

My surgeon said no gum for the first year, period. He showed pictures of having to remove wads of gum with an endoscope grabbing tool...from people who had swallowed it and it got stuck. Our new stomachs are healing, there are days they swell a little, they don't have a lot of stretch yet. Unlike most stuff, gum isn't readily broken down by stomach acid (pops out the other end looking pretty much the same if you happen to swallow it). If you must chew gum, chew a teenie, tiny piece with this in mind. Better yet, consider taking a year off of gum chewing. Gum chewing...to me...is not worth risking an endoscopic procedure to remove it if I accidentally swallow it. Three years out, I'll admit I've chewed it without incident, but it makes me nervous. Those pictures must have made a big impression. LOL. I don't chew gum much at all anymore.
  19. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Take all meds as directed and keep in close touch with your doctor if you can't get your fluids in.

I can't stay off the Scales!!

When I weigh myself, I have to get completely naked and try to pee first. LOL. I have been an obsessive weigher. These days, I do it once a week. Monday mornings. After I pee, before coffee. I wonder if anyone else has weird rituals?

    Feeling super guilty...

Almonds are mostly fat and protien, you probably didn't do any harm. Shake it off, recommit to finish strong:) No worries.

    Help!

Start with talking to your regular doctor. He/She will have a great idea whether or not it's a good fit for you. If you disagree, get a second opinion. Most doctors embrace weight loss surgery now when the appropriate criteria are met. Talk to your doctor about benefits-vs-risks for your specific situation and health.

    Lots of questions

Your doctor will NOT "report you" for illegal drug use of any kind. Medical confidentiality makes it illegal for them to do so. The only situation in which doctors can break medical confidentiality is if there is concern about someone seriously harming themselves or others.

    Scared [emoji32]

Of course it is. You're gonna do great. Best wishes!
