Just got sleeved and unable to get in all my liquids!

Just thought I'd let everyone know I tried ice chips instead of water and had a lot more luck getting fluids in--was at 55 oz today. My Dr. stressed the protein so I've been making it a goal to get at least 70grams each day! -

Hi! I'm 3 days post-surgery. I've been struggling to get my fluid, my doctor want 64 ounces--but I'm only managing about 45. I am getting my protein in--thankful for NuWhey Protein shots, which are only 3.8 ounces but have 42 grams of protein. I keep trying water but it is hard. Maybe I need some sugar free popsicles or even just ice chips. I;m thankful that I'm not hungry so that hasn't been a problem. I too started a timer--every 10 minutes--to remind me to sip. It seems to help some. But the other problem is I'm just so sleepy still! -
Surgery 12/27 getting nervous

I agree--I had my surgery on 12/13 and was nervous going in--when I came out I wondered what I had done. The gas pain really and dry mouth were really the worst of the side effects. My Dr. keeps you overnight and does a swallow test the next day to ensure you do not have a leak so there was no water or anything until that was completed. Once I was home I felt a ton better. The most challenging part for me has been getting in the 64 ounces of fluid. I'm managing about 75 grams of protein, but can only get in about 45 ounces a day, I'm not hungry and still getting rid of gas--so I just don't want to take anything in. -

Hi! I'm relatively new, but been moving through the process for about 9 months. Surgery is on Wednesday. I've been excited for this for awhile--but now I'm getting nervous. I'm thankful my dr. doesn't have a 2 week liquid diet because 2 weeks no carbs, no sugar has been hard enough. Liquids only tomorrow! -

Thanks for asking! My surgery is 12/13 and I have been trying to figure this out as well. Would have never thought about chapstick.

So---I have my date--Next Wednesday! Having a terrible headache today--which I think is due to the no carbs, no sugar diet I'm on per surgery. Trying to get through this...I know it will all be worth it!

So---first post here. Just got the call that insurance approval was in--they said I should hear in a day or two about scheduling the pre-op visit and the surgery! I've been thinking about doing WLS since June 2016. Dropped off the paperwork in Feb. 2017--it has been a slow process, with a battle with h pylori that wouldn't go away. I can't believe that this might actually happen this year. Hoping I hear tomorrow and can have the surgery in early December. But I am all of a sudden anxious about the 1-2 weeks before and after the surgery.
