I just had my surgery on Monday. My gf had time off and was there for the biggest part of my 4 day stay. It was very nice having her there but I wouldn't have asked her to miss work for it. It's nice to see the face of a loved one when you come out of recovery.... but the rest of the day was a write off. Also... loved ones want to get things and do things for you. This is counterproductive. After surgery you need to walk, move, get up and down. It's the best thing you can do for yourself; so do it for yourself. IMO.... your husband may want to be there when you wake up.... but probably doesn't need to miss work.

Naysayers gonna naysay... thats what they do. And have they ever taken on a challenge like the one you are about to? I doubt it. So.... they have nothing to offer on the topic. Your post tells me you have done 2 things exactly right. Researched your surgery and raised and excellent daughter. Keep going the way you are going. You are going to do great! -
I would think that sushi would be just fine. You will likely only have 1 piece..... then wait a while for the second. That may be all that You want. Like everything else, you may have to compromise by cutting or biting it in half so that you can chew it properly. Maybe even lose some of the rice; but I can't see that being a food that you will have to say goodbye to forever. I certainly don't plan to.

I had IBS prior to surgery. During the liquid diet I learned that I was lactose intolerant and had to switch to lactose free milk for my shakes. I'm now sure that was a leading cause of my IBS all along. I'm 4 days post surgery and my digestive tract seems to be working 100%. If that changes... I'll update this post.

Pills work fine for me.

What's normal eating post surgery ??
Frickets replied to comtngirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am 4 days post and have some minor discomfort when I swallow liquids. I'm not too worried as the surgeon essentially built me a new stomach and it has to heal and learn to function properly. I doubt this feeling is out of the ordinary. -

Had surgery yesterday...sleeve. Nothing to it. Only 1 incision is a bit sore. I've been walking all over this hospital. Only complaints are sore throat from the tube and dry mouth. I start on liquids today
