We all know Premier Protein is always the number one choice but honestly, I hate it 🙃
So far I like muscle milk light, which is 20g Protein with 100 calories.
I also like Atkins dark chocolate and slim fast high Protein Shakes.
    What are your favorites?

I started this wearing almost an 8 in most shoes but if I was lucky and found a true wide, I could wear a 7W. I now wear a 5.5/6 Wide (depending on shoe type and brand).

Yes! 2 weeks after my sleeve I went down a shoe size. Only 4 weeks out so I don’t know if it will be more. Also went to get my nails done and have been going to the same lady for years, she said I went down a nail size too

    Hi all! Random question.
I'm am getting sleeved in June. I have super wide feet. Like size 10. But the length of my feet fit a size 8/9. Has anyone's feet gotten slimmer after losing weight?! I'm hoping it happens to me. I'm always tripping over my own feet bc my shoes are too long lol

Starting weight was 220, now I'm down to 186. I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and can keep most foods down. I drink one Premier Protein shake and one generic shake a day. I had my first stall about a week ago but I think that was because I wasn't getting enough Protein or exercising. Although I haven't really been walking, I'm hoping that my uptake of protein will help me lose a bit more weight. My goal weight is 140 so I have quite a bit to go!

I think I'm doing well 24 lbs down since pre-op diet. I get tired of eating the same things over and over, but I get through it. Made some vegetable Soup everything was just talking apart. It was delish. I really can't wait to use my air fryer again. Bout it for pre-op diet and fell in love.

I'm at 199....a little disgusted with how slow it is going. Battling Constipation at times. No food aversions so far, canned chicken breast, one scr egg, cottage cheese, ricotta bake, refried Beans all seem fine. I can drink relatively normal liquids. No heartburn except one brand of marinara for the ricotta bake. I run up and down the stairs in my tri-level all day long - at 62 I am in charge of two grade school granddaughters, plus we square dance. Can dance with no issues and right now I am in full house cleaning mode for the holidays - 90% of my house is hardwood floors and a ton of woodwork to polish. So that is my exercise.

Wow! You are one busy lady. Try not to stress on slow weight loss. Unfortunately, it is part of growing older
Keep plugging away. It will come off.

October 28th. How are you doing so far?
Diet:i stuck with the diet instructions from my surgeon's office. liquids, soft and real food stage. Protein 60-100 grams per day.The goal is not to be dependant on shakes for nutrition. Learning to eat healthy real food was eye opening. I found I love to cook again.
Exercise:Check with your Dr. Google exercise and activities to try out. You never know what you will find enjoyable. You may have to push yourself to workout. But, you will never regret day's that you pushed through and did this for yourself. It gets easier as you make exercise a habit.
I was up walking the day after surgery. It helps with the healing process. Took it slow and built up as I healed from surgery. My surgeons office had patients sign an agreement before surgery. It was a commitment to a half hour to an hour of exercise. Starting out some patients workedout two 15 min sessions a day. then built up to a full hour
Exercise replaced my stress/emotional eating. I was a couch potato before surgery. I would have never guessed I liked working out or how far I could take this as an old fart...lol

I was between 400-600 calories a day until i was about 6 months out and then slowly increased over time to about 1,000 calories at a year. I'm 14 months out and eating 1,000-1,200 daily depending on my workout and still losing.
My team's advice was not to eat what I worked out early on. I don't generally follow that completely now because if I fence for 2 hours, I'm going to burn 1000 calories fencing - so I will eat some extra on those days.

    Sorry for the length
My weight was 254 I got down to 140 in six months. Never compare the speed of your weight loss with anyones. body physiology is unique to each of us. It will mess with your head comparing. It's not how fast. It's the fact you are losing.
My lowest weight after my first year was 125. I maintained in the 130s for two years. My third year I'm 140's and I'm back in weightloss mode to get it down to where I'm comfortable.
I believe a few things that made my weightloss fast: (my disclaimer - I'm not saying do as I do. We all have our own goals)
Motivation: My heart had stopped in the emergency room. The doctors brought me back. Nothing like a health crisis to make you change. Perspective: Before surgery my mother and father in law passed away from cancer. Anyone in hospice care with months to live would give anything to trade us with our weight loss struggles. Third month I stalled. I had to be honest with myself and reevaluate what I was doing. I had slacked off on my activity. I sold my treadmill that I had at home (it had become a place that I hung my clothing) I bought a gym membership with that money. Exercise:My couch potato ways got me to be morbidly obese. My surgeons office contract that I signed said I will commit to exercise. He wanted an hour a day. I could only walk a half hour.
At the start of WLS I wanted to run the race for the cure 5K in memory of my mother. Third month stall sold my treadmill and went to the gym. I stopped wallowing in my pity party and got to work. (my struggle with exercise was nothing compared to her battle with cancer)
The gym replaced my stress and emotional eating. It's where I go to process my mental stuff. It's where I learned to forgive myself for many things. It helped me deal with the grief of losing my mother.
My gym became my new addiction. I worked out 5 to 7 days a week. First hour cardio..Mostly elliptical machine ( easier on my knees) Second hour weight lifting.
I completed that 5K for my mother...I'm in my third year and completed my first marathon.

Don't take anything for granted! Make no apology for living an amazing life!

still going to the gym! You're a bad a$$ I'm so jealous you had plastics.
I can relate. I did great maintaining at 130 in my first two years. Third year has been a struggle. I'm up to 147 today. I'm working hard to get back to where I'm comfortable. I seriously miss the days of fast weight loss. It takes one weekend of bad choices for me to gain. Snails pace to get it back off.
Temptations - oh yeah! I had an incident where I had pie and icecream on a weekend. (I felt like crap afterward)
I told my husband I'm getting rid of temptations in the house. If he wants his treats he better hide them well. If I find them they go in the trash. Harsh but I can't trust myself right now.
I'm working on night snacking right now.
I allow myself raw veggies or a small amount of fruit when I feel like I need to snack. When I try to tell myself I want something other than the veggies or fruit....I know it's only head hunger.
I bought a large veggie tray at Walmart. I use my own lite dressing or a bit of PB2 with my celery. It gives me a way to satisfy salty or sweet cravings. The bulk of the veggies satisfy the hunger.
I bought a tray of pre sliced red and green apples. I have about 1.5 to 2 oz of sliced apple with a drizzle of smucker's sugar free caramel.
3 to 6 Strawberries dipped in Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup.
SIDE NOTE - I'm also a cardio and lifting girl~ The weight lifting is a game changer right? BEAST MODE! lol

On the day of my surgery I was at 211lbs. My goal was to get off my meds for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol and heart burn. Today, nine weeks out I'm down to 178lbs (33lbs). I'm off all of my meds except for the cholesterol meds. I'm hoping that my next blood test will show a substantial improvement and I'll be off those as well. I wasn't looking for the weight loss others had, I wanted enough of a weight loss to be healthy without medications. I'm also losing weight slowly because I'm 60 and I found out through the forums us seniors lose the weight more slowly.

    Ok. First ((hugs)).
Second. Let's have a reality lesson and do some math. If you are watching my 600lb Life, turn it the fuc* off! Seriously. Very few of us will lose 25-50lbs a month--even if you weigh over 300lbs. We just won't! There is no quick, overnight way (short of amputation), to get below 200lbs overnight. So settle back and establish your very own "best practices."
Third. 37lbs in 9 weeks is what you are describing to me. So let's take 37lbs and divide by 9. You are losing 4.11lbs/week. PLUS there is always a "3 week stall" post surgery that can come on any time between week 2 and week 6-8. It can last 1-2 weeks. My RD told me I will lose between 2-3lbs per week at the start. It will slow as I approach goal. She said, expecting anything more than that sets us up for disappointment, disillusionment, and dissatisfaction/depression. She told me to ALWAYS follow the rules for my food stage: water/hydration/vitamins as scheduled for each day; and low fat Protein first at every meal. If there is room, a bite or two of low carb veggies. If more room, then a bite or two of low carb fruit. Eat 3 meals and 2-3 scheduled Snacks a day until you can eat enough at each meal to only eat 3 meals without over-stuffing your new anatomy. No drinking with meals or for 45 minutes after meals.
Fourth. Track every bite lick and taste that goes down your piehole. Religiously weigh and measure and track!!! Don't cheat yourself. A bite eaten in the dark, standing up over your sink in the middle of the night STILL counts!
She promised me if I did that, I would lose the weight. But if you have any doubts, go see your PCP about a low thyroid and also have them test for your B1 levels. Many of us obese and WLS patients have low B1 and it makes all the difference!!!
