My Bariatric team recommended Miramax for regularity both prior and folliwing surgery. It's not a fast solution, but it does work very well. I still rely on it 17 months after surgery when I encounter constipation.

djvalade replied to Too old to lose?'s topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I was 67 at ths tine of RNY Surgery. I've list 130 pounds and it was definitely worth it. Went from thirteen Rx meds to one Rx med. Quality of life and outlook continue to trend upward. -

I had coffee with a week of surgery and every day since. I had small amounts of borboun and draft beers with a month of surgery with no problems. I can't handle soft drink carbonation but beer bubbles are no issue (Thank God!). Now just over 14 months since surgery and down 130 pounds and counting.

I'm at 11.5 months since surgery and I am 130 pounds lighter. I have been at a plateau for the last 3 months but I'm very happy at my current weight of 240 at 6 foot 3 inches!

I also take Bariatric Fusion which is one of only a few complete vitamins following Bariatric Surgery. They are priced at $24.99 for a one month supply and you take them four times a day. They are complete at 200% of the daily value plus they have the required iron and calcium included in each chewable tablet. Great lab results do far at 8 months post surgery.

My surgeon allowed my to use topical NSAIDs for joint pain following RNY. So far no issues encountered.

Eating on the road (Travel)
djvalade replied to CyclicalLoser's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I travel too and avoid any fast food restaurants. I use the Yelp app to find local restaurants that have great appetizers which for me I usually can't finish anyway. That way I can consume tasty but not fried or heavy gravy food choices. And since the appetizer portion size is normally only 4 ounces or so, I'm never tempted to over consume. WIN WIN! -
I suggest using Miralax 2 to 3 times a week to naturally eliminate your constipation.

Better tasting chewable vitamin recommendations???
djvalade replied to LL44's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Check out Bariatric Fusion! It is one of only a few complete vitamins that includes calcium, B12 and the required mix of vitamins and minerals. It's available in 5 or 6 flavored tabs. It is taken 4 times a day. I had my Gastric bypass RNY surgery on May 2, 2018 and I've been very satisfied with this product! -
My Bariatric staff recomimended Miralax and it has been perfect to combat protein dieting. There is no flavor to the crystals, just mix in a glass of water daily and it generates regularity! Best recommendation ever!
